That sums up this thread. Those who didn't jump to WCW when WWE was going through a tough period has a special place in McMahon's heart. I also agree with the Bret statement...deep down I truly think McMahon really likes Hart...

It is weird....they bash wCw about its use of old guys...its now 90% of their focus in FUCKING 2006 for gods sake. Atleast there was a crusierweight division to fall back on in wCw...and we had guys like Jericho and etc in the mid card.

Everyone is just sick of Hogan.... Every 5 or 6 months we get another Hulk Hogan return...and someone trying to KILL HULKAMANIA.. I'm sick and tired of that crap....The Rock/Austin are two individuals who know when to back off......and not let their characters be over exposed.

Wow, that's fuckin stupid. Did Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera take over while we weren't looking? When I saw that on WWE.com.....those two immediately came to mind. This has Russo name all over it. Maybe someone was watching some videos of RAW in 97-99.... The Austin/Pillman angle comes to mind as Hawk pointed out

True.. But The Rock and Stone Cold always gained millions of viewers during their segments. John Cena also gains alot of viewers when he is featured in a segment. What was the reason for that many people tuning in??? So in a way its hard to judge these things... I think the final minutes leading up to those lost of viewers determines the true reason for a gain or loss. Showing Rock making his way to the ring before the segment......or J.R. mentioning something coming up featuring Austin.

I second that... I still CANNOT figure out why this guy is still the head writer of RAW. Luckily Stephanie is on leave...and Heyman has gained alot more power since she had her kid.

That explains why the crowds are so electric for the D-X skits and Diva Search, and all the dead heat during matches like Benjamin-Michaels on Raw last year, and Taker-Angle on Smackdown this year. Wrestling fans want wrestling, no matter what Russo, Stephanie, or the failed sitcom writers want us to believe. When was the last time WWE scored a 6 or 7 in ratings with just "wrestling" Like it or NOT....Russo's concept is what brought the bucks in and the record ratings. People want action/crazy storylines/interesting characters. They don't want a 20 MINUTE match on TV filled with rest holds. The minute a rest hold is put on or the match goes on more than 5 minutes....the remote is clicked to another channel.

WWE will NOT drop Smackdown.... I don't care if its only 5 people active on the roster..

It does have a good old school feel to it... Which pretty much confirms Dusty is the one booking this show... Excellent show btw...

With all these injuries Smackdown is still better than RAW and ECW combined

Well they are still in the top 10. They will drop down in ratings occasionally, but for the most part they are the highest rated show on cable.

RAW is the number one show on cable(until MNF debuts on ESPN this fall)....why should he be concern about what we think?? When the ratings say otherwise??

Stephen DeAngelis being replaced as ECW ring announcer was down to a couple of factors. Vince felt he shouted too much and told him that. He also got labeled an “ECW Original”, which is a big knock internally. Kevin Dunn heard about the criticism and suggested to Vince that he get removed because he had an “annoying” voice. It was also claimed he was too inquisitive for a ring announcer. I finally agree with McMahon and Kevin Dunn....god his voice was terrible.
