Flair-Steamboat in a nutshell: chop-armdrag-resthold-chop-armdrag-resthold (repeat for 45 minutes), then rollup out of nowhere. It's only crazy not to like it to those who confuse Meltzer's opinion with fact. As for the matches I do like, you actually mentioned a lot of them... Bret-Owen (no way can anyone watch Flair-Steamboat then Bret-Owen and tell themselves Flair-Steamboat is even in the same hemisphere), Bret-Diesel (which set the template for the modern day WWE main event gimmick match) and of course Bret-Austin and Angle-Benoit. I thought Flair-Funk I Quit was good, but Flair-Funk GAB was terribly boring and repetitive. However, nobody accuses Hogan of being a great worker, unlike Michaels.

I like how it turned out, Danielson was very deserving of best wrestler, most outstanding and best match (w/ McGuiness).

Completely agreed about Flair, he is easily the most overrated wrestler in history, he was more routine than Hogan and all his "great" matches were identical, save for the street fight with Funk, In that UW interview I posted Warrior said Flair was a liar for calling himself the greatest and could work a broomstick because he said he couldn't work with Warrior. Is Warrior deluded or talking truth? In some ways it DOES say something about Flair. Savage, Rude, Perfect, and Dibiase seemed to carry Warrior rather easily(hell Hogan at WM 6 for crying out loud). Flair dragged Ricky Steamboat to some pretty boring matches, one of which was apparently "the greatest match of the 20th century"... Meltzer and 99.999% of smarks really need to get off Flair's cock.

Skinning the cat? The sharpshooter he used that one time... Are you serious?!! Yeah, Michaels bumped like a madman, and also oversold everything in a ridiculous and cartoonish way, only to completely ignore it at the end by kipping up, ruining any psychology the match had. Bret, Owen, Vader, Mankind, heck even Taker, weren't nearly as routine or predictable as Michaels.

Yeah, he might of used those same five moves, but he mostly used them near the finish, HBK and Flair use the same 5 or 6 moves THE ENTIRE MATCH.

Bret never got as bad as Michaels is today, nor did he ever negate psychology to the degree Michaels did and still does, or work as basic and predictable of a formula as Michaels does. Not to mention most of Bret's matches still hold up today and Michaels haven't aged well at all, IMO. Bret will always be completely better than Michaels to anyone who understands wrestling.

Agreed with Last Samurai, although Cruise looking like Superman when he was fighting a bunch of TRAINED SAMURAIS near the beginning of the movie, was pretty ridiculous too. Jeepers Creepers is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, at no point in the movie did the words great, good, decent or anything other than "shit", cross my mind.

Something tells me a promotion where X-Pac and Vampiro are the biggest stars is the last thing WWECW has to worry about.
