Pics of the new TNA Titles

I'd like to shake Dave Millican's hand because these are some exceptionally crafted belts. The platinum and gold plating combination is quite possibly the sexiest option for title belts out there.

Really shocked that nobody hasn't already mentioned Chico Corrales dying in an motorcycle wreck on Monday. http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory?id=3150872 Real shame to go out that way. EDIT: Pardon my ignorance for not noticing the thread prior to posting.

    NBA Playoffs 2007: Round 1

Unless he can win it all, does anybody else think this will be the game that people will look back on when Dirk calls it a career? He gets the MVP trophy for his regular season effort and shows nothing of MVP caliber when his team desperately needs it in the post season. Even without the Warriors being able to do no wrong, that was a shitty clutch performance from the supposed best team in the NBA. Avery Johnson better get ready to get thrown under the bus during the off-season. It'd suck for him since there's nothing much he can do when his star player doesn't want to come out and play. Can't fault Cuban for looking like shit right now. High expectations at the start of the season and they win 67 games. Everything looks really good, especially with the Heat getting swept. Then it's all goes up in flames and they go down in infamy in the first round.

    DS Lite - The Thread

Finally delved into the Castlevania series with Portrait of Ruin. Put about 11 hours into it and I'm almost finished with the primary storyline, but it's been a good experience. Charlotte is unnecessary except in the parts where you actually need to use her, so she feels really tacked on. She is good for covering Jonathan's back where enemies are all over the screen though. I primarily used Jonathan equipped with Nebula, Medusa Whip or Flame Whip for most of the game. I'll probably move on to Dawn of Sorrow once I'm done. And as a side note: Konami bringing the picture-in-picture cover for their Best series is hysterical.

    Kingdom Hearts II

I'm 99% certain I saw a GH Kingdom Hearts 2 at Best Buy, but I might wait a little longer to hear what the price tag on Final Mix is if it comes stateside.

Having never played the first one, I picked up Lost in Blue 2. All I can say now is that I really suck at surviving so far.

    UFC 68- 03/03/07

Like Insanity said, this is as close as we can get to a real life Rocky 4 (barring Gabriel Gonzaga pulling off the biggest upset since Tyson-Douglas). The only question would be if Randy plays Rocky or Apollo to Cro Cop's Drago.

    UFC 68- 03/03/07

We hummed the victory song from Rocky and sang the chorus of "You're the Best Around" as soon as time elapsed. I don't think anybody in my group came out of the bar with non-strained vocal chords. Simply one the most memorable moments in MMA History. Sylvia clearly was outclassed for five rounds and looked completely perplexed about what to do in both the stand-up and ground games. The paw jab was ineffective, Couture completely nullified his reach by using speed and technique, and he didn't look like he knew what to do on the ground other that lay and pray. He hurt his image further by using the "I came into the fight injured" line. After a night where Jason Lambert shook Babalu's hand after knocking him the f out and Silva and Franklin man-hugged out of respect, Tim Sylvia looked like a tool by giving an excuse for being overwhelmed by a better fighter. Couture-Cro Cop is going to be huge regardless of who wins.

Easy pickup for me once it comes out. It's only a matter of what kind of J-Pop covers will be dealt.

That's a pretty high-profile cast for the Haruhi dub. Listening to Bleach dubs, I don't have too much objection to Michelle Ruff playing Yuki and Wendee Lee could pull of a good Haruhi. Stephanie Sheh has the voice for Mikuru, but I'm not too sure if she can pull the character off. Crispin Freeman works for Kyon, but Johnny Yong Bosch as Itsuki is going to take some adjusting to. Bosch is a bit like Steven Jay Blum to me; I know exactly which character he's playing so it's a bit of a distraction.

The comment DOES warrent a thread

Solution for me is simple: Make the 2K series the Fire Pro of Football. Defaults are generic, but provide an incredibly in-depth customization feature so anybody in the know can make it an NFL game if they so choose. In all honesty, I wasn't a fan of NFL 2K5, but Madden has been a bit stale to me as of late, so I welcome change at this point in time.

    UFC 67: All or Nothing

Some random comments off of memory Smith scoring dick points by assuming the Crane Kick stance after Cote did nothing after rocking him was hilarious. They both looked like they really didn't want to put any real effort into the fight and it was a boring match because of that. For once the booing was completely justified. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs Marvin "The Beastman" Eastman No powerbomb of death, but Jackson sold himself very well to the fans with his charisma. The right kind of match to put on after the shit opener as both were very aggressive. The impatient Vegas crowd is starting to piss me off by booing any sort of perceived inactivity. Mirko "Cro-Cop" Filipovic vs Eddie Sanchez HOLY SHIT PRIDE THEME! Eddie Sanchez looked rightfully scared out of his wits. He did his best not to die a swift death and survived far longer than anybody expected, which I guess could be a moral victory. The sound of Cro Cop's kick is like the sound of a car door slamming. Ye gods. Mirko's no nonsense demeanor and brutality of his striking throughout the match sold him as the living, breathing incarnation of Ivan Drago they built him up to be. His rundown "promo" during the replay simply consisting of heavy breathing solidified that. Mirko vs Couture/Sylvia is going to be an interesting fight. Anderson Silva vs Travis Lutter Lutter's UFC career is done. Not only does he lose the chance to win a belt before the match begins, he loses via submission to the striker in a supposed striker vs submission battle. That's the sort of thing that gets you blackballed from a company. Silva's up kick from the ground leading to the triangle attempt was pretty sick. It's a shame that Silva can't speak English because he has great charisma that gets lost through his translator. Tyson Griffin vs Frank Edgar Fight of the Night. No joke. This was a terrific fight to watch. We dubbed him "The American Kazuyuki Fujita" because of his stocky build and how he just kept coming back after Edgar had him in trouble on several occasions (especially the low blow that should have at least stopped the action momentarily). I first I was annoyed by Griffin using "Eye of the Tiger" for his intro, but he earned it with the match he put on. Both guys had awesome sprawl ability and it made for an exciting fight. The rolling kneebar by Griffin was a spectacular counter and almost won it for him, but Edgar showed balls by somehow surviving it to go to the scorecards. Based on this match alone, I wouldn't mind a return bout on the main card in the future. I heard later that there was another match shown but I had to leave after Griffin-Edgar. The PPV was well worth the drive and cover charge. Smith-Cote put on an terrible opener, but Rampage and Cro Cop delivered entertainment and looked like the superstars they were billed as, and the night was capped of with an awesome bonus fight.

    Admit It...

Men on a Mission. The matches were never stellar, but I got hooked on the ring introduction. Also, Mabel doing that crescent kick of his was the most amazing thing to behold back in the day. Hakushi. Like M.O.M., I dug the gimmick. I also admittedly thought the tattoos were legit. Ahmed Johnson had the intensity and the look, got the huge push to the IC title, and I bought it.

    UFC 67: All or Nothing

Dana must have shit a brick when it was clear that the one title match for the show went up in smoke. The main draws for me are still Rampage and Cro Cop's UFC debuts, so I'm still going to watch. All that effort on TUF to get a title shot and he blows it at the last possible second. Lutter's never going live this one down, and he's screwed if he loses badly against Silva tonight. Does anybody know if this will kill his paycheck (or Anderson's for that matter) now that it's non-title fight?

    UFC Fight Night #???

Rashad picked the most logical option during a MMA fight; He continued to attack until the ref stopped the fight. He would be fairly embarrassed as a fighter if he had stopped the attack and somehow the fight had continued. It's not often that a fighter comes back after being knocked down after a big hit, but it can happen. I would have called it dirty if this was boxing or if Rashad had continued to punch after the ref stop.

    OAO Anime/Manga Thread

That's some amazing turnaround from officially announcing the license to getting the DVD on shelves. To go with one of the Haruhi motifs, it'd been funny if it started appearing on shelves before the official statement was made.
  24. I'm actually hoping he somehow wins the UR.
