WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - January 2008
EVIL~! alkeiper replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
There's a moment in the match where Jeff cracks Undertaker with a chair. The camera pans in on Jeff, you don't see that the Undertaker is getting up. And JR makes a great call. To the viewer at home, you don't think there's anything to stop Jeff from grabbing the title. It's great drama. -
How much are you getting back in taxes this year
EVIL~! alkeiper replied to Youth N Asia's topic in General Chat
I'm still waiting for my W-2 to come in. Besides my income, I can claim $1300 in student loan interest paid. I need to pay taxes on my Baseball Info Solutions earnings, but I can claim 66 miles a game in traveling expenses. And Smues, since you mentioned Liberty Tax Service in your blog, I saw them myself in Wyoming, PA this weekend. They dressed some idiot by the road in a stupid Statue of Liberty costume. I generally write up my own taxes but my mother looks them over and finds any more applicable deductions. She works part-time for an accounting firm so she's got a good handle on things. -
I didn't say it.

I wouldn't call that a Dusty Finish. The second ref counted the fall just in case, but everyone knew tossing the ref would merit a disqualification. -
Let's see. Greatest Busch Stadium Games Phillies 1980 25th Anniversery Set (Contains NLCS and World Series clinchers) Goosebumps: 2007 Phillies Video Yearbook (Contains NL East clinching game) I try to get ahold of all the Phillies' documentary type stuff that I can, and I also own the World Series two disc set. I'd buy 1975 if I caught it on sale somewhere.

1. C'mon now. It's against league rules. It's not even something like steroids where you can at least cite that they are illegal. 2. Does the NFL even have an antitrust exemption? They do for the purpose of negotiating a nationwide television contract, but that's it. -
In regards to the Skip Bayless comment, analysts are indeed given a side and have to argue it. Sometimes they have to debate something they do not really agree with.
-
Yeah, but he's a hometown guy.
-
The Phillies have signed Pedro Feliz to a two-year contract, says Jayson Stark. Great move. Feliz's defense will aid Jamie Moyer and Cole Hamels. His OBP sucks, but his has pop and the Phils' lineup already led the league in runs scored last season. This probably means Wes Helms will be traded in the near future.

Intervals were indeed 90 seconds. I'm rewatching this now, I think it will rank somewhere in the middle. I like it better than the mid-90s Rumbles, it was long enough to make it worth my while, and the booking was as realistic as it's ever been (as far as order of elimination).

WWE General Discussion - January 2008
EVIL~! alkeiper replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
No more HHH. His matches in general are dull. Orton/Cena was really building serious heat before Cena's injury, and it makes perfect sense to blow off that feud. -
Actually you just did mention it.
-
Just re-watched the last seven minutes of Hardy/Orton. The match was a lot better on second viewing, but it was hurt by a lack of crowd heat. I don't think the crowd bought that Jeff had a legit shot at walking out with the title.
-
6 points.
-
Strong rumors right now that Eric Bedard is on his way to Seattle in exchange for Adam Jones.
-
This gives us Cena/Orton at Wrestlemania, a logical matchup. It also explains why Orton went over strong in his title match.
-
CENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Holy hell. Didn't see John Cena coming.
-
Shit. HHH is winning.
-
So far the match is 26 minutes old and we already have 20 guys in the ring.
-
Snuka at 64 shatters the record for oldest Rumble competitor.
-
19 guys left to come in, and five of them are unknown.
-
It's interesting to see them bring out the big names early this year.
