    The Hangover Thread

Holy fuck, I have no idea what that poster child of abortion just said to me. The only word I could determine was jaws. Fucking terrifying.

Profuse body odor coming off this guy in front of me. Not helping the situation at all.

I'm still pretty tore up right now. And I've been at work for 4 hours. Not ideal.

    This Week in Baseball 4/7 - 4/13

I felt bad for Evan Meek at the end of the Pirates/Cubs game. Poor bastard couldn't throw a strike if his life depending on it. Pirates had exhausted their bullpen so it was up to him to get it done. In his one inning of work, 36 pitches, 25 balls, 11 strikes. That's not what you're looking for. Joe Crede with a grand slam today against the Twins.

    2008 Final Four

Kansas: National Champion Exciting game. It was a great end to what I thought was a boring/uneventful tournament.

White Sox are scolding the Tigers 9-1. Detroit is soon to be 0-6.

    2008 Final Four

I just know if North Carolina would have won there would be all sorts of shit in this thread about Kansas. They've silenced some of their critics by beating a team many thought was the best in the country. I can't wait for Memphis and Kansas. That is going to be a great game.

Dontrelle Willis with the no hitter through 5 innings. Don't mind the 7 walks. EDIT: Jim Thome put an end to that. That leads me to a question... What is the most number of walks a pitcher has given up during a no hitter?

Oh god, it's like last season all over again for me. Michael Cuddyer and Chad Cordero to the DL. That makes 4 players on the DL after one week and 1 NA for me. I think we've been here before. Also, we have another pending trade. If no one puts any argument against it, I'm going to put it through later tonight so that both teams can have their new players for next week. So Cheech and VX, make sure you set your lineups for next week after the trade processes.

Interesting name selection. Word of advice for South Bend... on game weekends in the fall, avoid Cleveland and Michigan/933 for multiple hours following the game. Also, don't mind the gun fire by Western Ave and Walnut at the stop light under that weird bridge thing. Western Ave will never be plowed in the winter either.

If JR Towles does a handstand, that means he’s going to homer in his next at bat. Micah Owings worked over Colorado today. Only gave up one run in the 7th via a Todd Helton solo HR. Owings actually had 9 K's too. All last year he really wasn't that great of a strikeout pitcher. Justin Upton went yard for the second day in a row. He's looking a lot more at ease this season then he did last year when the D-Backs called him up in the final month. Minnesota finally put an end to the "undefeated Kansas City Royals".

I had a claim in for Cueto too. I had the 14th priority, no chance in hell.

The way they did it was perfectly fine. 16 fights in one week? That would be ridiculous to pile into one hour. They would've only had time to show recaps of every fight. At least the way they did it we got to see 4 fights and 4 recaps. If they were going to devote 3 hours to the premiere they could have packed everything in. With the 3 hour fight night and that other show spike was premiering after TUF they had no way to pile 16 fights into an hour. I would have liked to see the 4 fights they only showed recaps of. Even the one Dana was bitching about with the wrestler. I bet Rampage and Dana had some entertaining shit to say about how boring that was.

The Kansas City Royals SWEPT the Detroit Tigers in three games in Detroit. KC is the last undefeated team in the bigs. Amazing stuff. I like their team, but I didn't think they'd get hot this early. Hopefully they keep it up and make the AL Central a fun mess to watch. Ryan Dempster looked good today after he settled down. Quality stuff. Kerry Wood also looked good the first two batters he faced in the ninth. Followed that up with a walk in Craig Counsell's at bat and didn't look good, but Counsell is a patient batter. Then he looked solid again to shut down Milwaukee against Jason Kendell. He was throwing crisp stuff in the mid 90's. Most of the Brewers batters never even got the bats off their shoulders. It was an encouraging performance. I get to watch Manny Ramirez 162 times a year. I know what bad left field defense looks like. I watched Ryan Braun out in left field today. They said he was doing great in preseason, he looked absolutely horrible. There were numerous times he literally was just guessing what direction to run to. That's going to be a trainwreck for the Brewers all season long. I enjoyed the botched fielding by Braun during one play today and then the next his replacement at third Bill Hall misplayed a ball that should have cleanly been fielded. Hall clearly would be a better fit in left, but Braun's fielding at third last year was terrible last season. Approximately, he committed an error every 4 games.

    Pizza Hut

I can't imagine the pasta being any good from Pizza Hut or even worth trying. I'm sure it's similar if not worse than the shit that you get at a dirty ass Fazoli's.

I still laugh every time I see the Tito/Ken showdown when Tito flinches at him and Ken just goes nuts.

Cubs pitching managed to plunk Rickie Weeks and Prince Fielder for a total of 4 times in the first two games of the year. I know there was some shitty pitching to blame, but you have to think Milwaukee is going to retaliate at some point.

    This week in the NBA

Dallas out ran Golden State tonight. Golden State never got back on defense and that cost them. Dallas actually looked good for the first time since the Kidd trade. Kidd still needs to be more aggressive on offense and take wide open shots when he has them. He has to give the other teams some sort of reason to play defense against him. I know he's pass first but for crying out loud you need to take wide open shots when they're there. Hilarious. I'm not surprised it came from the Boston Globe.

    State of the Sports Folder

I think the sports folder is pretty strong and I don’t think it really needs to be tweaked very much if at all. I’m not really sure what the deal is every day I log on and I see someone new has been modded. It’s starting to get ridiculous when the mods are out numbering the posters. At least the new mods will get experience before the Boston/NY fans start going insane. I really hate subfolders and really don’t like seeing a ton of threads pinned. It just makes everything look cluttered. I don’t think a subfolder for fantasy stuff is even remotely necessary. There are only two fantasy related threads on the first page of the sports folder. If you hate or can’t stand fantasy stuff, don’t click on the thread. I can’t stand Hockey or Golf so I just ignore all related threads. It does get ridiculous though when someone starts a new thread saying, “Hey, check out my team!” That crap just needs to get deleted instantly. I like the weekly threads for baseball and basketball involving discussion on those specific games. I don’t think “play-by-play” is a major problem in any of the threads anymore. I haven’t seen anyone posting 20 times during the duration of one basketball game continuously talking about every little facet of that specific game. There’s always going to be people posting during games either complaining about Eric Gagne getting shelled or getting excited because Fukudome just blasted a home run off Gagne to tie things up in the ninth. You’re never going to get rid of that and I don’t see any problem with it. I do get tired of reading threads and constantly hearing play by play on how great Wily Mo Pena looks in HD. I would be in favor of there being more threads involving major issues/scandals in sports. It seems like we’ve gotten away from that. An example would be, there was some heavy discussion in one of NBA threads on the age limit in pro basketball. That easily could have been its own thread and gotten more activity than it did buried inside of the weekly NBA thread. That could be a job for all these new mods to do. I’d think an MLS thread would get some activity. It might lure some new posters. NASCAR, not so much.

Rampage: "Wooo! Did you smell that guy!? THAT'S what knocked the other guy out! Forrest can have the smelly guy..." I enjoyed Rampage, Dana, and Forrest referring to John Clarke "fat guy" during the fight because he had to cut 17 pounds. Hilarious.

UFC Fight Night - Florian v. Lauzon

Kenny Florian means business. Lauzon impressed me how long he managed to survive in Florian's mount. Even with the loss I don't think it is going to hurt Lauzon too badly. He looked good.

UFC Fight Night - Florian v. Lauzon

I scored that all three rounds for Gray. Frankie never really did anything in that fight. Gray wasn't impressive but he controlled the entire fight and he had a hell of a lot more tackdowns.
