Despite being the eye candy of the show, I can't stand Izzy and like many of you, her storyline with Denny was a completely turn off both as a standalone story and how it encompassed everyone else (into this season as well). There's too many other characters in the show that I think are great though. George, Bailey and Burke (when they return him to healthy status) are always something to look forward to.

It's an odd signing from Angle's side but I guess it makes sense. - He gets to work the matches he enjoys - It's obvious that he'll be on a limited schedule - He'll be auto pushed into the main event scene There is a snag though. Angle's under a no compete clause until February.

QFT Anyway, the writing is smart, the characters are likeable for the mostpart (George > *), and I invested too much time downloading the previous two seasons in the summer not to watch it now.

Fun show last night. - Punch to the gut = best punch of the night. - So much for the big plans for Pulver - Am I the only one who thought maybe they asked Loiseau and Swick to draw out their match because they were so ahead of schedule? The only round that looked "right" was the 3rd. - I had that main event scouted almost to a tee. It went exactly like I figured except it was a TKO in the 3rd rather than KO in the 4th.

Has anyone seen any torrents or D/L's for S03EP02? It was released in Canada by mistake instead of the premiere and I'd like to get a hold of it.

Exactly, it's not like people haven't heard of the snowball effect before. In the grand scheme of things though, why would a company pushing a particular brand (or in this case star) want to lessen the impact of their creative team by allowing unforseen signage onto their programming? It's not about "it's just one sign." It's about ensuring the maximum effect for the work you've done to condition the fans.

I can't say as I blame WWE. As a company, it is far more in their favour to get rid of a couple of negative signs that can make national air rather then keep maybe 10 fans happy at the risk of damaging their product. It's win/win from their perspective.

I'd be inclined to agree here. If there's been one thing that Penn has had a problem with, it's truly conditioning his body to go the distance. The majority of his wins have come within the first round and in some cases under 1 minute when he's firing on all cylinders. Now if you look at the GSP fight, it's a completley different story. Dominating in the first round but then slowly but surely gasping for air and holding on as the fight wears on. Hughes on the other hand is a conditioning machine. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to drag the fight out into the 4th, which is unfamiliar territory for Penn. I have no doubt Hughes will be able to dismantle him in the latter 2 rounds of a title fight. Hughes via KO in the 4th

That doesn't surprise me but only because you have to realize Grey's went into this season being moved to a new timeslot and they were coming off a cliffhanger ending. CSI is in season six in the same spot it's always been in, and worked a standalone show. CSI also had a way better show this week (and a to be continued ending) so next week's ratings will prove very interesting. Gabriel; personally I'm not a fan of the softer Bailey. The writing has slowly reduced her from hilarious nazi into nurturing mother (both literally and figureatively to the interns). At this point, her role could be played by anyone. Bah... Plague = WTF? Did Burke get full use of his hands back?

I haven't seen a lot but I've seen some of these and figured I would lend some insight. Take of it what you will... Kenta Kobashi vs. Kensuke Sasaki (7/18/05) I wasn't sure what to make of this match on the first go around. Truth be told I knew it was great but I didn't think it to be the classic that a lot of others were pimping it to be. You can't deny the sheer physicality of the match. They literally beat the hell out of each other. The extended chop sequence wears thin but serves a larger purpose in showing two monster wills that don't want to relent to the other. I'd say it lives up to the hype going into it but I wouldn't put it in my Puro top 5 for the year. Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Toshiaki Kawada (7/18/05) Bah... completely underwhelming match. I suppose this match could never live up to what people expected of it. It reminded me a lot of the latter years of AJPW where the story was lost amidst a sense of "how can I kill you?" Watch their earlier stuff and forget anything and everything they've done from since GAAAAAANZO BOOOOOOMB! KENTA vs. SUWA (9/18/05) * If there was a thread called "most fun match of 2005" this would absolutely be my number 1 pick. I'll be happy with either outcome. I'm a big fan of Loiseau but have enjoyed Swick steamrolling everyone. This'll be the fight I care about the most on Saturday. Personally I have no real interest in Hughes vs Penn as GSP was the far more exciting matchup.

I was referring to their match this past weekend. I wasn't aware there was another one but I'll have to look for it. Hawk; do you know when the Title Unification will be released on DVD? What's the word on the quality of the match?

Kurt Angle released a statement today that strongly implies he's heading to MMA. With that being said, it was fun debating with you on this one.

No one expected a replica of the original. Don't put words in my mouth. The rematch was a clinic put on by Griffen. He has excelled so far past Bonnar in terms of technique it was ridiculous. He could have held him at bay all he wanted and picked him apart. The last fight, while some might consider it ugly, was at least exciting. Their rematch held no excitement for me when it sunk in how much better a fighter Griffen was and how little chance Bonnar had to win it.

Anyone seen everything from PRIDE this year? I've been D/L'ing their shows all year and never bothered to watch any of it. Odds are I'll watch them all in a week or so to get caught up. Much like LOTC, Diego Sanchez vs Karo Parisyan is my pick for MMA MOTY. It's easily the best UFC fight this year (what a disappointment Bonnar vs Griffen II was). It's really a matter of what everyone else has put out there.
