Maybe this is all Triple H's plan to make himself look like a model employee that should be followed. It's his idea Seriously, didn't wrestlers way back all wear suits heading into the arena during the days of Bruno Sammartino? That's it! They are catering for Bruno to return.

The wwe are probably trying to entice some top flight athletes who would otherwise not bother entering this contest. It could work, but looking at the track record who knows. They might get someone like a Brock Lesnar again who is talented, but is in it for only the money and leave when they can't take it on the road or we could get another Diva disaster on our hands.

Remember that thread about re-writing history on the part of Vince Mcmahon? I talked about the history of WM videotape and bang here it is. It's the only place where Savage vs. Warrior is the wwf championship for WM 7

I know I kind of liked the Lesnar/Show match at MSG. It had that old Main Event Hogan upset aura to it.

I know there has only been one time I felt the streak should have been broken and that was this year at the 20th anniversary. It didn't happen and perhaps for the better, but I was naive enough to think they wanted Kane to be the new phenom. How far that scenario has fallen. However, if Andre the Giant had his undefeated win streak broken and also had his undefeated battle royal kingpin status destroyed(Hercules killed the legend which was a waste) than I think Taker should do the same. Highly unlikely though as it might be someone useless down the line.

I've actually thought about that a few times. The argument against the undisputed champ scenario by some is that it leaves one brand without the world champion for a month(my solution would be increasing the level of the secondayry title for that off month). Another problem people see is if the champ shows up on both shows one show will be lacking since the champ wouldn't have a championship storyline because the other brand has to get the attention with the ppv. Not to forget the wwe wants to add ppv each month for both brands next year.

Rock only has side burns when he's heel Rock. I don't consider his last heel run as a real one as it was only done for the match with Austin(and the New York RAW X crowd booing the hell out of him). I think having Angle/HBK and Rock/Orton and Cena/Triple H are the best bets to increase the match quality and draw of Mania 21. These are all fresh match-ups and Rock and HHH should put over the new guys in Orton and Cena in theory. Angle/HBK can bring down the house if both are tip top.

I believe this is the MONEY MATCH for Randy Orton. I also think the wwe coule be working the smarks with this HHH/Orton Mania stuff. I believe the rumours were that Orton would turn face and then turn back heel. If he goes over HHH and is champion heading into Mania Orton has a storyline of defeating the one man The Rock always had trouble toppling and that was Triple H. Isn't Rock's contract up next year? If Rock is used to get anyone over before leaving for hollywood Orton is the guy to do it. Heel Orton against face Rock works. You know who I would build to face Triple H? John Cena in an interpromotional match or make him jump to raw.

I was actually talking about Warrior's wwf return at WM 12. The hype and after effects had people interested. Warrior doubled raw's rating after WM 12. I think he main evented against Kane(oops Isaac Yankem) on one of the shows. I could be wrong, but that is from my memory back in the day when he returned. At first, Vince was okay when Hall and Nash left since he brought back Ultimate Warrior who had a stronger presence. His wcw run was horribly handled and yeah his time was up. It got off to a great start with his promo against Hogan(the match blew as we know).
-
Yeah, Jericho has never been buried before. This should be really hard for him to endure. *rolls eyes* Not so much Jericho, but all his fanboys on the net
-
Actually, Orton ending the UT's legendary streak seems more plausible. If Trips puts over Orton then I think it might be possible for Taker to be persauded to put Orton over. It fits the legend killer gimmick perfectly.
-
Looking at this, I have a few questions. What made that ratings shoot up so high? Were all of those after a PPV? This won't be popular around here, but ULTIMATE WARRIOR made the ratings double when he returned. If some want to doubt this look at the ratings after he was sent packing.
-
This is news? It seem Eddie was just messing around to me. Anyways, can anyone blame Eddie for losing it? He goes from defeating the monster Brock Lesnar for the wwe title to jobbing to the Dudleys as champ, getting attacked by Booker T for being a minor league champion, to losing to Bradshaw to losing to Kurt Angle. I mean, how much can one man take? Oh yeah, they like to call him a druggie in storylines. I would be depressed too.
-
I guess another de-push for Jericho is upcoming after that meeting
-
Hmmm...Taker/Show/Sid/Diesel seems to come up a lot here for this topic
-
Ratings tend to do better in the fall and winter since people are stuck inside due to the cold weather. Don't forget the Rumble/Mania corridor will always do the best business just because...
-
TigerDriver91 Good one! Boy, I could imagine that crowd seeing the death of Paul Bearer
-
See what I'm talking about? Cleveland held the first Survivor Series. Vince is in a down time and he wants to go to his traditional hotbeds that usually are a root for growing his product. Look at where the major shows were 20 years ago. New York had WM 1. Chicago/LA/New York area had WM 2. Big Event happened in Toronto. Vince did say at Mania "where it all begins again".
-
Maybe that Toronto crowd feels the way the rest of the United States does Besides, it's NEXT week's rating that should be of concern. If the word of Evolution breaking up doesn't cause any interest than I say they are in trouble.
-
Well, one mistake with the wwf is bad enough. Hulk Hogan too in a stupid agreement? All we got to wait on is the six million dollar man Steve Austin suing Stone Cold Steve Austin next.
-
Ding Ding Ding!!!! We have a winner. I would offer up UT/Sid from WM 13 as well.
-
The thing is that I think some are overlooking the fact that the wwe sees Toronto as perhaps the mecca of wrestling for Canada. The wwe are trying to re-establish the product in their main markets. New York got Mania. Toronto got SummerSlam. Is Survivor Series at Chicago Rosemount Horizon? Then Mania 21 is located in LA. These are traditionally hotbeds for the wwe. If any of these cities shit on the wwe I think it's a sign there are flaws in the product. Usually these towns eat things up. That is why I think Toronto being blackballed aint gonna happen. Toronto's media gives wrestling a lot more respect than the thousands of other places they travel. Remember this is the city that has stuff like OTR. Sorry for the crowd being a bit different to other cities.

We all knew about the loophole in the Royal Rumble that had Benoit jumping to raw and challenging for the world heavyweigh title. He became the champion and held it until SummerSlam. He got his rematch for the title last night. Will the wwe have Benoit sent back to smackdown in storylines because of the initial telling of the story that Benoit jumped to raw and was only raw property because he won the Rumble and was their top champion? I wouldn't mind Benoit going to smackdown and becoming the champion there at all.
-
It's true the follow up on raw will make or break this thing, but guess what? We got that supid wedding to deal with.
-
At least we got a bigger capacity than under 10,000 and it would SELL OUT. BTW, I thought SummerSlam was always the second biggest?
