Okay? I just have one question. Did anyone predict that BOTH Northern Illinois and Fresno State would lose this weekend? This has just been a fucked up 2 Days of College Football, and in less than 5 Hours we could see the BCS Nuclear Holocaust happen if Colorado, UCLA and Flordia State pull off the 3 Biggest Upsets of the young 21st Century. (I know, it's not bloody likely, but neither was Fresno losing its final 2 Games) Hell, even if one of those Teams win, it could spell disaster waiting to happen. So I'm going to make a bold prediction, on which I am prepared to Eat Crow on. Both/Either Texas and/or Virginia Tech will Lose. Book it. And USC Vs. UCLA...I have a feeling that game will come down to the last play.

Well, goodbye Stanford. The Pac 10 is going to be below par again this year, so they're in extreme trouble. Is there a reason to not beleive that Arizona will win the Pac 10 in a walk besides UCLA? How the BLOODY FUCK does a Power Conference Program lose to a Big Sky Team? I would love an explanation to that one. Also...put Kansas on the Death Watch list as well. They just lost to Nevada at Home (It was an awesome game), and they have a very pesky and dangerous St. Joes Team on Monday in New York. This does not look good for the Jay(Choke)Hawks.

And thus, it is upon us. College Basketball is back, and the Season begins today. Now I know it may be November, but now is a good a time as any to start to the Season with the monthly threads for November and December (weekly or bi-weekly threads will begin in Janurary). The Curtain Jerker tonight is a Contest between Syracuse and Bethune Cookman, which also happens to be part of the first round of the Coaches Vs. Cancers Classic. So there you have it. I'm going to try to get a November National TV Schedule Up soon.

I ignore this week of College Hoops. Why? For these reasons. 1) The Big 10 Never Wins the Challenge. 2) The ACC gets a verbal blowjob, including Clemson and Virginia 3) The Big East SOMEHOW gets bashed no less than 5 times during this week. Only to have the same network suck their dick every Monday, starting in 4 weeks. 4) The Basketball is usually garbage, escpecially coming from 2 of the Top 3 Conferences in the Nation. I usually dub this the worst week of the season, and can't wait for December to start. Speaking of which, new thread goes up tonight.

Grab the popcorn, people. It's going to be long thread.

If ND loses this, I think cabbageboy and the rest of the Big East contigent will have a collective heartattack.
-
I have to agree with you for the time being. West Virginia should NOT be losing to middle of the road SEC Teams, there's no excuse for it. Escpecially when you're at home.
-
I love being vindicated. Time to go for the double next week when West Virginia spanks them worse.

WOOHOOO!! Winning Season!! Toilet Bowl, here I come. (hopefully)

How many of these people here are USC fans... really? You know, if you think the Big XII doesn't get respect now (a dubious claim in itself) then how do you think the media will shit all over the conference if their third-straight representation in the national title game gets smoked. Fuck Texas, I hope they Mack Brown never sees a national championship. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After how Mack Brown cried to get into the Rose Bowl last year (Shut up Dama, you know its true that he robbed Cal of its bid) I so hope that he gets KILLED at the Rose Bowl this year. Or better yet....Let them do a Job of massive proportions, next week and wind up in the Bowl where West Virginia is playing, so they can bitch all month how the Big East is beneath them, only to get their asses kicked by the Mountaineers.

I'd give CUSA a little bit more credit than that (just a little, but not much), you still have UAB who gets its jollies off by taking down the "big boys" (see Kentucky and LSU), and as long as Mike Anderson is around (I have a feeling he's going to head his ass up to the Big East (*coughRutgerscough*), after this season is over, anyway.) they'll be very dangerous. Then there is UTEP, who I would not sleep on at all. As for Houston.. Until they win big, they aren't shit in my eyes. -------------------------- Now as far as the ACC goes, I say it once, and I'll say it again...Boston College and Al Skinner are everyone's best chances to prevent Duke from winning, and possibly running the ACC Table.
-
And if anyone cares, West Virginia just blew the doors open on the backyard brawl. Thus guranteeing themselves a share of the Big East Title. Things are going to get real interesting in the next 2 days.
-
Only if you can promise us that you won't go into Iggy/Georgia Tech levels of Fellatio this year, okay?
-
That was one of your NCAA Title Games?!? Wow, and I thought Witicha State and Niagra (which I moved to the A-10 for that session) was off the page. In 2K5, I saw some crazy ass shit. Including 16 Seeds blowing out 1 Seeds Lamar in the National Championship Game Manhattan winning 4 National Titles between the 3 full Legacies I did. The Colonial getting 3 Bids. The MAAC getting 3 Bids The Big Ten getting 1 Bid...Twice. Towson in the Final 4. Western Michigan winning the National Championship. Gonzaga going 5 - 24 in one season. And the list goes on. And oh, just for you Leelee. Nevada won the 2006 National Championship in my first simmed Legacy. Personally, I say bring it on. It's a videogame. It wouldn't be fun, if most of the Final 4s consisted of Duke, UConn, Syracuse and UNC all the damn time.

I have the game. The EB in the Midtown Mall had the game for sale on Tuesday. I don't know what the hell happened with 2K Sports this year, but they need to improve their distribution channels, badly for the future. After sitting down with the game for 24 Hours, I can say that it takes a good game in 2K5 and makes it better with more options, more relaistic recruiting and scheduling. There is so much more I have to tinker around with an experiement, so don't expect me to give a full impression of the game for another week at least. No major glitches, yet with my copy, which is a good thing. This is definetely the game to pick up if you're into Hoops.

(Playing to be Bowl Eligable, eh? Might as well, give this a shot.) FRIDAY Arizona at Arizona State Nebraska at Colorado SATURDAY Maryland at N.C. State UAB at East Carolina Tennessee at Kentucky Iowa State at Kansas Mississippi at Mississippi State Marshall at Memphis Louisiana-Lafayette at Louisiana-Monroe Florida State at Florida Idaho at San Jose State Georgia at Georgia Tech Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Nebraska/Colorado game? 44 Tiebreak #2: How many yards passing will Florida's Chris Leak have against Florida State? 329

Well, Duke wins in a game that was ALOT closer than one would think from the scoreboard. Drexel played them tough, and lasted until the end, so lets not just put it on Duke for shitty play. Meija from the Dragons was definetely impressive out there. I agree with Alro, JJ Reddick is a pussy. He's the epitome of whiney ass Duke players. It's going to be fun seeing him job away the National Championship in the Spring.

I saw that game. Syracuse made a lot of mistakes, but honestly, Florida looked damn good at this point. Their front court is powerful, and is going to give teams nightmares. Kentucky better scout the Gators very well, because they can sneak up on anyone, at anytime, and beat them. Of course, watch Florida blow a game with Auburn or Mississippi. Either way, 2 big wins for the Gators. At this point, I put them ahead of the Crimson Suck...I mean Tide.

Missouri at Kansas State Boston College at Maryland Virginia Tech at Virginia Central Michigan at Ball State Minnesota at Iowa Oklahoma at Texas Tech Purdue at Indiana Ohio State at Michigan Oklahoma State at Baylor Utah at BYU Washington State at Washington Alabama at Auburn East Carolina at Marshall California at Stanford Clemson at South Carolina Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Ohio State/Michigan game? 50 Tiebreak #2: How many rushing yards will Washington State's Jerome Harrison have against Washington? 124

Are you fucking kidding me? You're telling me that a RAP Song that was privately recorded about something that rap industry shamelessly glorifies, and will probably never be sold to anywhere is going to ruin Miami? ROTFFLMFAO@ESPNTID Oh fucking please, we let 50 cent roam free, why should we stop the Hurricanes expressing one of the fundamental rights of any Black Male (And I am black btw) in a position of noriety. And that is to make a song about fucking bitches and hoes. This is more an indication aganist the industry that any hack can make a song like this, instead of one aganist Miami. Gotta love Football. Ever since Janet Jackson, they've all gotten this giant stick up their ass.

On one level, Leelee is right. On another level, the Torch has a point. If Eddie's death didn't wake it up (escpecially the WWE) then we're going to have problems. If Angle does die anytime soon, the WWE, and Wrestling as a whole in this country may experience a backlash that it may never recover from. Something really has to be done.

I usually don't get invovled in the BCS talk, because I think the BCS is the worst thing to happen to sports in America since FOX and Designated Hitters, but I have to speak my peace on a few things. 1) Why the fuck is everyone so worred about South Florida winning the Big East? West Virginia will win that game 9 times out of 10 anyway (even in South Florida), not to mention that Big East Refs are as bad as SEC refs are in OOC games. It would be very easy for them to subtily make sure that South Florida doesn't even sniff 2 Touchdowns of WVU's score. Not a good policy, but it could happen. 2) For you Cabbageboy, you have my full respect, but honestly, stop bitching. Stop bitching about losing to South Florida. Stop bitching about losing to West Virginia. Stop bitching about how the Big East is going to lose its BCS bid every 5 minutes. Finally, stop bitching how pathetic the Big East is in Football. Your Team has a bid to a 14 million dollar payday if you win the games you're supposed to, which is alot more than what you had in Conference USA. Or would rather be playing Tulane, SMU, ECU and UCF to go to the Liberty Bowl to take on the 6th Place SEC Team starting in 2006? Thank you. Louisville should've known better. The Big East was not going to roll over and die for your team. Not with a BCS Bowl on the Line, and I hope everyone on the team has learned their lesson. Or next year is going to be worse for you if they have the same attitude. And no, I don't hate Lousiville, far from it. Neither do I think the Big East is a great football Conference. It's the 6th Best Conference, which for now is enough. As for you, I would suggest to get over the whole entire thing. Cause you know your team will probably finish 10 - 2 and in the Top 15 (If not the Top 10), and you will get a great ranking to start next year off with. As for the Gator Bowl. It may be the fucking Gator Bowl, but it's better than the fucking Liberty Bowl.

Not to overstep any bounds here, but I think we should keep the other thread solely with reactions, and discussions about how he died. There's a whole other side to this story and maybe this thread is needed. If the mods deem otherwise, and they will decide to close it. I will definetely respect the decision. There really are no words for this news. The WWE has lost one of its greatest stars, workers, and examples of what a wrestler should be in the ring (if not outside the ring). He will missed by his fans, his friends, and family. But there is another side of the story, and that is a question I think we're all asking right now. What is the WWE going to do now? Now, any death of an active star is a big deal in its own way, but it's not everyday that you lose such a big star (ie Owen Hart), and it's even rarer when you someone that was supposed to carry a company (or brand in this case) just before they won a very big match (ie. David Von Erich) Unlike either of those deaths, neither one came at such a tulmoltis time when so much stuff that was detrimental to the company was happening at once. Just some of these are. - Austin walking out on the company, and all of the booking Chaos it caused - Christain not signing another contract - The announcing debacle on RAW - Batista getting injured. - The writing changes that are being discussed for Smackdown And this is just the stuff we've seen on the surface. Now you're adding the death of a particpant in the main event to determine a World Champion after the last champion was put out of action. What's worse was that he was probably scheduled to win the world Title, which makes more of a David Von Erich II than we would like it to. Now the discussion is what do you think is going to happen from here?
-
And we have our first upset people. The Bearkats of Sam Houston State defeated the Missouri Tigers 80 - 77 in the NIT Tournament. It may not mean much in the future, but it definetely means the Tigers coach is in the hot seat.

Now we know at least part of the story. The other part still has a few weeks before it plays itself out there. The Toxicology report will tell the rest of the tale. But from what we know, this is just even sadder, because now we have to wait to get the full story. We're not going to know the truth till then, and I think for all Eddie fans, it's going to be hard period, as it could've been. - He was taking Steroides (Edit: What I said before didn't make sense. I was just being nieve there.) - His past finally caught up to him (I have a feeling this is the case. Or, at least I want to beleive it is.) - Or he relapsed (I'm praying that he didn't) Not to sound like an asshole, but now I almost wish it was the Chair Shot that did him in. At least there would be no doubts, and this part would've been done.
