Well, here we are folks. Leap Year gave us one more day of February, and now that it is over. It is now March, and that only means one thing. March Madness. That's right. We are two short weeks away from knowing who will dance, and who will go home. But first, we must deal with probably the most hair pulling part of the process... And that's getting there. With only two more weekends to the regular season (with some conferences playing their final regular season games, this weekend), the bubble race is getting tighter and tighter. And while some teams have helped their causes, nowhere near enough have. So now we have one of the most crowded bubbles, ever. With only 12 or so spots, not spoken for, and arguments that could be made for over 30 teams, the next two weeks will decide everything. With that said, on with the show.

?Who's going to advance, and who is going home? It's that time of year folks. The brackets have been set, the seeds given out, the at large invites have been received, and the bubble teams have either celebrated or are still crying. However, 4 days from now, this isn't going matter. In 4 days, the greatest show on earth begins with the NCAA Tournament. 4 whole days of some of the best College Basketball you'll see all year. 4 days of domination. 4 days of upsets. 4 days of High Drama. 4 days that make watching sports worth it. The time for talk is over. It's Showtime!!!

They went for over 70% in the CUSA tourney. If that translates to the National Tourney, then their major weaknesses is gone, and that'll make them a very good Final Four Candidate.

I want to see Kentucky out, just to see the meltdown that would ensue on Catspause and the epic 4Chan Thread that will be started. As for the other teams in question.... Ohio State - It'll make me happy if they're left out. Villanova - As a Big East Fan, I want them in. As someone who tries to be as fair as possible...They should stay home. Especially after St. Joes loss in the A-10 Final. Arizona State - They need to be left out. Seriously, they need to get the fuck out. Illinois State - I would love to see them in, but that 30 point blowout is just too fresh.

I said it last week on another board, and I'll say it again. Kentucky was in barring a trap loss in the SEC tournament. Lo and behold, Georgia is that potential trap loss. If Kentucky loses, it gives the committee every reason to leave out the Wildcats. Otherwise, Kentucky becomes too strong.

Now Villanova is in a do or die game on Thursday, aganist Georgetown. Win and you're in. Lose, and you're a #1 Seed, in the little dance. Dayton also won their game aganist St. Louis in overtime. Dayton needs to win aganist Xavier to have ANY shot at the Big Dance.

Illinois State is dead as well. Losing by 30 just made their situation that much worse. VCU is definitely NIT bound after tonight. No chance for them, and this is coming from CAA School Alumni. It wouldn't be so bad if they were a lock a Top 2 Seed for the NIT Tournament, but since the Top Seeds are reserved for 8th Place BCS teams, is a double hurting. Now as for the A-10, they can still get 3 in. They need for UMass to make it to Final (though winning on Thursday, may send them over the top), and Xavier to lose before Saturday (which usually happens). Otherwise its a 2 Bid League.

St. Mary's is in right now, they're probably in better shape than anyone in this group.... Florida Ohio State Oregon Arizona State Syracuse Villanova Dayton St. Joseph's Temple Ole Miss Virginia Tech Maryland. For St. Mary's or South Alabama to get knocked out of the tourney....They would need like a combination of 9 of these teams to get hot. And in all honesty, here are the teams that I see playing their way in, this weekend. Syracuse/Villanova Oregon/Arizona State Maryland/Virginia Tech Temple/St. Joes/Dayton (one of these 3 will most likely win their Conference Tournament) Everyone else is dead in the water, or is going to kill themselves by Friday.

VCU is most likely dead in the water at this point. They have no Top 50 Wins, RPI wise. Which in turn equals to no Marquee Wins. Not just that, they have 4 Sub 100 Losses, RPI wise (with one being in the sub 200's, as well.) This team is NIT bound, sadly. That's not even the worst news of the day. The Robert Morris Colonials lost their NEC semi-final game, too. Despite winning 26 Games this year, they're NIT bound.

Well, I was basing it on these things. 1) Georgetown wanting revenge for the beating they got at Freedom Hall. 2) The Big East being the Big East, and how hard it is to win on the road, against a Top 12 Team (Hell, even DePaul is not an easy trip.) As far as the BS Calls go. If you're talking about the West Virginia game, I'll be the first to admit, that call could've gone either way. From afar it looks like Goaltending. Up close, it looks like a perfect block, right at the apex. In all honesty, I wouldn't know what to call it. Huggins had a right to be upset, but to say that the Refs handed the Hoyas the game, is not true. Now for the Villanova game....no argument there. It should've went to overtime, easily. But like with the UNC game that Villanova was screwed out of, we have no idea how overtime would've went. I'm just curious as to what other game (or games) did the refs "hand" to the Hoyas? As for Georgetown losing in the 2nd Round. Not Bloody Likely. I have both Louisville and the Hoyas on my short list of Final Four contenders. And Louisville gets to make its case on Saturday. If they win. I'll admit I was wrong and that Louisville is better team. Otherwise, you may have to wait to March 15th to see if Louisville proves their superiority to The Hoyas.

I just have to wonder, am I the only person who was pissed that Memphis lost? Not because I love Memphis or anything like that. It's because now, we have to stomach UTK being #1. And that will never, ever sound right. Edit: 29 Hours Later, the Orange Menace lost. That was a shaky couple of hours.

In more SEC Follies, Florida just lost to LSU. I think Florida needs to make NIT plans, unless they plan on beating Vanderbilt in Nashville, and Tennessee at home. Otherwise, Florida may have just eliminated themselves from any at-large bid they thought they had a birthright to.
