It's almost over. Thank God.

Wow...That was fucking retared. I bet Matt wishes he was on Impact right now.

And Instant Crap was just made. That's going to to go down with the Bulldog from Hell.

I did not need to see more of Nipple H. This whole scene is pointless.

Doesn't seem like a bad card overall. The only egg here invovles Abyss. Otherwise we could be in for 2 solid tag matches, and a really good spotfest with some technical wrestling thrown in there. Thank god they're not going with Nash vs. Jarret next week. That would lay an egg of epic proportions.

I have to say that overall I was impressed with this show. It won't go down as one of the best, can't miss Wrestling TV Shows ever. But for a debut show, I haven't had this much fun with one since the WCW "Saturday Night" debut show back in '92 (when they started calling it WCW Saturday Night, IIRC). For the time given, they did all they had to. Show us that this leauge is major leauge (production values rock now), give us hot action (The matches weren't classics, but they got the job done...They entertained me. Something that hasn't been done in the WWE in a long time. Positvies - AJ Styles showing off what he is about. Pele Kick and Styles Clash own all. - The 3 Way X-Division Match was a chain wrestling/spotfest fan's dream, and it all moved very well. Great way to show the new fans how hectic these things can get. Bound For Glory is going to blow the uniniated away. You can almost book it. - The Promo Packages from start to finish were amazing. - Canadian Explosion looks even better with better production values. - For as much as I hate Jarret, the new alliance with AMW and Team Canada has a lot of potential storyline wise. And Jarret got owned for free by Team 3D and Nash - Jeff Hardy got booed like a little bitch. - The focus remained on Wrestling, and not lame ass skits. Negatives - Jarret shick was the final part of the show, but the Debut of Team 3D was a good payoff - The show was only an Hour Long. This show would rock even more if it had an extra 30 - 60 minutes. - Not enough Chris Daniels - Not enough Raven - Monty Brown is better than that, the match didn't show it. - After 3 way X, Rhino and Jeff was a bit too much of a cool down, though I understood why it went down like that The negatives seem numerous, but the only red flag was Jarret (and even that could be turned into a positive, storyline wise), and even with that the Positives outweighed the negatives by far, escpecially on a debut show. I always like the Wrestling on TNA whenever I caught it, but now I can sit down with it every week, and really get to know the product. The future is bright right now. I can't wait for next week's show. Overall Grade: B/B+

TEAM 3-D!!

I know that they were, but depending on who you beleived, UT was going to do the job at the GAB. And even if people were griping about him (which they were, and I was one of those people due to the stereotypical crap of the gimmick, not the person doing said gimmick.), it seemed like to me that they were committed to making Hassan a player on Smackdown, giving him a spot in the mythical title match, and giving him significant promo time. Maybe its just me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Before all the negative press, Hassan was going to face Batista at Summerslam, but he wasn't going to win the belt. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *nods* I figured he would do the job, which is why I said he would merely co-headline. I had no visions of him winning.
-
Yeah...TNA's biggest problem...Double GAY Jeff Jarret.

I am loving this. This is the type of Wrestling Show I love. Wall to Wall Action, great work, and just plain intensity. I haven't been this into a Wrestling Show like this (I can't miss a moment in to it.) for a LONG time.

To everyone that's calling doom and gloom for the Big East, because of Pitt and Louisville's losses....are you even looking at the bigger picture? No Seriously? Yeah, the Panthers fucking suck this year, but it seems like they're going to go 1 - 10 or 2 - 9 (The only team I see that they can even hope to beat is Cincinatti), with no hope of sniffing a Bowl Bid or winning the Big East. Hyped or not, they won't finish well, (the only thing holding them back from an 8th Place Finish is the Bearcats, which are worse.) and they won't make the BCS Game, so fuck them. Neither of those teams will finish above 6th , and they won't sniff .500. Right where teams that suck should be. As for Louisville, wait and see if South Florida gets beaten by 3 or more touchdowns today, or if they lose in their next 3 games before you call their season lost. They could possibly still win out, and go 10 - 1, which isn't a horrible record, no matter how you slice it. It isn't like USF will finish in the bottom 10, or even 40 at this rate. (Note, this may change in a few weeks.) Overall, the Conference can and needs to do better aganist their Big 6 brothers (Yes, I said it.) if it doesn't want to be ridiculed so badly. Though, honestly, unless all 8 teams went 4-0 with their OOC records, ESPN and friends will find a way to bash the Big East, this is just a fact. Screw the media, the conference just needs to show up and win. But to call doom and gloom because the Hyped teams lose games is just self-fulfillment in the wrong direction. Either way this weekend is big for the conference, and I smell an upset.

The thing is, while his work in the ring was definetely questionable, at best (downright bad, at worst), he did pretty well, with what was given to him (assuming and considering that he would have no creative control), which was pretty cliche and stereotypical. It wasn't until the "Terrorist" incident on the Undertaker that the gimmick became a problem. Otherwise they would've had him co-headlining Summer Slam. Seems like Vince is trying to absolve himself of the failure of this gimmick, and trying to put it on Copani, while the truth is...everyone is more or less responsible to varying degrees (Yes, I put most of the blame on Creative and Vince.)

A look ahead towards college basketball...

You don't need to tell me twice that Alabamba is crap. This is just what I was just going by what was in Lindy's piece of crap magazine, to prove the point you orignally bought up about the SEC sucking. And yeah, In no way, shape or form should Alabamba be given the nod over Kentucky this year from any preseason analysis. There is just no evidence for it. And yes. Sheldon Williams is still there. Him and Reddick are staying for the chance to be National Champions. -

This is exactley what I meant. And since you started it. Let me go into more detail, escpecially as far as this year goes. Boston College - They will contend, and I honestly hope they win the whole thing (or at least tie for the Regular Season Title) as far as the ACC goes. Escpecially with a Big East Roster (which is what they have), it would give me enough laughs till Novembr 2006. But Skinner better hope that UCONN and Syracuse don't make good on that promise, and shut them out as far as Recruiting goes, or Boston College is Supremely Fucked. Duke - Duke is going to be the popular favorite to win the National Title. Which is going to be all the much better when someone beats them. Georgia Tech - They aint going to be shit this year. Pure Fact. Maryland - IMO will be better if they could get over the shit that plauged them last year (inconsistent play and selfishness that the original Sailor Moon Sailor Senshi would blush over.) But Georgetown is about ready to make Washington DC there bitch again. North Carolina - When you lose 90%+ of your offense, you're going to have a problem in an ACC that features Duke and Boston College. Hell, you're going to have a problem period. This looks like a rare double digit loss season for the Tar Heels. North Carolina State - The jury is still out on this team. Remember, if most of the team came back last year, this will be the same team that got blown out by Fucking St. Johns. Though, I do buy that North Carolina State will be a fixure in the rankings if things go right for them. Virginia: First off? Is it 1985? And if it is, why am I 24? No seriously, Virginia on any Top Tier list is laughable at best. This is team that hasn't done crap since the 80s, and has gone as long as Georgetown without a bid to the dance (2001). The only reason why Virginia has any strecth of a good record by ACC Time is because they play to their level and gather up 10 wins. One of the things everyone has to realize, is if the rags, and Dukie V are right, then the ACC will be even more polarized this year than ever. Duke is supposed to be head and shoulders better than everyone else in College Hoops this year. If they prove this to be true in the ACC at least, then you're going to have a God Tier (Duke), an even thinner top Tier, an almost non existant middle one, and a shit tier so huge, that the SEC will go "damn". It could get really ugly on the Atlantic Coast really fast. And Cabbageboy, thank you for bringing up that point about the SEC. I have been on the SEC is overrated train for years (escpecially when Auburn was picked over Seton Hall in 2003 for the Tournament), 2005 made this train seem like the right one. 2006 is....wow. The SEC is strapped. What would've been the 1st and 2nd Teams for that conference (not to mention a huge chunk of the All Freshman Team) all bolted for the NBA, NBDL, Europe and Prep School. Alabamba and Georgia have been escpecially hurt by this. And it gets worse. Kentucky is predicted to finish 2nd. People are calling Alabamba the class of SEC '06. Anyone else want to push the big red button that says 'Panic'? -
After they got screwed out of their title shot last year after going 12-0, I think it's only fair to keep them in the Top 25 after one loss. They still do have plenty of talent on defense and in the passing game, and I see them probably ending up somewhere around 7-4 or 8-3 and getting a decent bowl bid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know what I'm going to say this now. What happened to Auburn in 2004 sucked, but this is 2005, quit crying for them. (In Other Words: Get off of Auburn's nuts.) (Or if you prefer trendy net speak: Plz 2 Be refraing from sucking Auburn's Dick.) They lost to a team that they probably should've beaten. Escpecially, in their own house. It's the nature of the Beast when you're ranked 17 to begin with. You lose, against an unranked opponent, you usually take a back seat in the rankings. SEC or not.
-
This is the reason why we need a Playoff. Fuck this BCS Shit.
-
I won again. I got to win more games though, or I may end up like Auburn, being totally undefeated, and still not in the Bored Bowl. Still I was fucking lucky to win this week at all.

Well, when the coach before you is Mike f'n Brey, it's hard NOT to go any direction but south. Not to mention moving to the CAA, which now has Georiga State for fuck sake. Henderson has brought in some decent guys, but definately not the cailber of guys that allowed UD to hang with Duke (who is REALLY starting to hate schools from Delaware). They still have All-American candiate Harding Nana so things look positive for the short run. We'll see <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Speaking of the Colonial (I am a Hofstra Student so, this is a subject of intrest), some of the fans honestly think that this is the year for them to acutally get an at large bid. You may commence laughing, now. -

I agree 100% with you on the Big East thing Cabbageboy. Every night in this uber Conference, someone has to lose. That is just a fact of the matter. 1 of 2 direct scenario's can happen. 1) The top 4 Teams dominate the Conference with records ranging from 14 - 2 and 11 - 5. While the middle 8 Teams all find someway to get between 10 - 6 and 6 - 10. As for the 13th - 16th Place Teams.....Well, they're just fucked. 2) Everyone is so good, that no one can remain consistent in terms of winning. When everyone beats the crap out of everyone else, it is going to show on the records. And as far as NCAA bids go though, someone who may legitmaly deserve one just for going though this leauge with a .500 record, may get shafted. It just takes one too many of these to happen for more "Spilt" talk to occur, and become reality. One of the biggest strengths of the Big East, and biggest problems is that the Big East was the best conference in terms of partity and depth. Now before all the ACC fans attack me, the ACC has always had its share of jobbers that pad the wins for everyone else. What you see in that conference is that you have an elite Top Tier, a very small middle Tier, and a large Bottom Tier. The Big East (Save for its bottom 2 to 3 Teams) more often than not is a 10 - 11 deep conference in its old form. A 14 Deep Conference, could cause alot more problems than one wants. Lets see how the selection committee judges the New Big East in the next 2 years. That should tell us if the conference is doomed or not. -
Friday Washington State at Nevada: Nevada (I hate this game...There is no good pick) Saturday Kansas State at Marshall: Kansas State Clemson at Maryland: Maryland Notre Dame at Michigan: Michigan San Diego State at Air Force: Air Force Iowa at Iowa State: Iowa (This Pick is a Joke, right?) Northern Illinois at Northwestern: Northwestern Louisiana-Lafayette at Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan Stanford at Navy: Navy Boise State at Oregon State: Boise State Wake Forest at Nebraska: Nebraska North Texas at Middle Tennessee State: North Texas Texas at Ohio State: Texas LSU at Arizona State: LSU Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Washington State/Nevada game? 52 Tiebreak #2: How many total yards will Texas' Vince Young have against Ohio State? 294

2005 - 2006 will be a great season of College Hoops, and this is saying something after the past 3 seasons have been nothing but awesome, but 2005 - 2006 proves to be as awesome as ever. After analyzing all of the Off Season Data, and reports. Here are the first of my 5 Pre-Pre Seaosn Predictions. Just to get people to start talking. 1) The Big East will establish itself as the top Leauge in College Hoops. For over 20 years, the ACC and Big East have waged war in the minds and hearts of the nation over which conference is the best in the land. The ACC has won that war in the public eye for quite some time. However, the Big East has definetely closed the gap from the 90's with 2 recent National Champions in Syracuse and UCONN. With teams like Pittsburg, West Virginia and Villanova stepping up, the Big East has started the war a new once more. This year however, the Big East may see the battle turn in its favor. The new additions from Conference USA were the cornerstones of that leauge in the past. And putting them with the Big East is creating a Dream Conference. Games, which could only be seen at the Elite 8 - National Title Game Levels, are now regular season games. Players are coming to this conference in droves. The coaches are legendary. As it stands right now, it is quite possible for the Big East to acquire 8, 9 or possibly 10(!) bids to the dance. Think I'm lying? Then let me give you 5 Teams which are usually very good programs. Notre Dame, Marquette, DePaul, Seton Hall, Pittsburg. Usually one of these 5 Teams would be good enough to win a title in any leauge... All of these teams are picked to finish 8th or worse (some as low as 14th) by many preseason polls. A true Definition of a Monster. (Next time #2: The Altantic 10 will Avenge itself of last year's nightmare season)
