Ummmm Iggy. Just some friendly advice with no snickering to go with it. You still have George Washington to play, and the Yellow Jackets better not underestimate the A-10 Champion, even if it is in a Mid-Major Year. Doing so will only doom them to lose.
-
I know the Big East did around 1985. It was the year when Villanova - I believe as an 8 seed - upset Georgetown in the finals. I want to say that St. John's was the other Big East team in the Final Four but I'm not sure. It was St. John's. As for the ACC getting 3 teams in the Final Four? That's quite the stretch. It won't happen. This tournament is too damn deep for that to happen. Someone is going to take the fall before, or on March 27th.
-
Usually the bracket is revealed later tonight, but there is no selection show, unless it's on CSTV or ESPNU
-
The only I would ever suck that dick is if Syracuse got a 1 seed, and then I would be suspect as to where that cock had been. (Probably in Jim Boheim's Mouth)
-
Well, they were bragging about how this is the best bracket ever. But it's the quite the opposite. I never assumed they made the brackets.
-
Fuck the Selection Committee. That is all.
-
UConn is definetely 2 damn seeds too high. What the hell is CBS smoking? This Bracket is a Piece of Shit. What's next, Syracuse a 4?
-
I'm glad UAB got in. And Louisville was the Team that got fucked over.
-
Ummmm Look at the big Picture here. It's March 13th (Selection Sunday for those not paying attention.), it's a Conference Final. It's a big conference final. One of your teams in said final could get a 1 seed if they win. Gee if I was Duke, I wouldn't want any questions as to whether you would've won the game or not off a Bullshit Mickey Mouse Foul that Dick Vitale's Boyfriend initiated by touching the other guy's Jersey. Here, again, lets break down what may just happen. Duke may get a 1 seed, but remember, this shit is all done on a line system. If Duke sneaks into a 1 seed someone else has to fall down, and it may cause a really shitty domino effect for the top 16 Teams. That means a deserving team can, and may get screwed and get a seed that is acutally beneath them (and I bet is a Big East team that gets screwed), and draw a really shitty opponent. All because JJ Redick wanted to do something really shitty and got away with it. Think about it. If I played college ball and that little bastard set a pick on me I would try my damndest to put his bitch ass THROUGH the fuckin' floor. Maybe that's just sour grapes cuz UNC lost the other day Oh Me? I'm a Syracuse Fan, and I knew UNC as going to get a 1 seed anyway, no question. Don't assume before you know all the facts, dude. It's okay though. They look the second round bitch this year, anyway.

What a Day! Syracuse Wins! Texas Tech may win the Big 12 Title! Amazing CUSA Finish! Amazing MAC Game! Utah State gets Revenge and sweet Redemption for Last Year! This has been one of the best, if not the best day of Hoops this year. I am floored to how much great action has been on the Idiot Box. Utah State has won the Big West. And now Pacific takes away another at large bid. Here are my final 5 in who deserve it. St. Mary's Pacific NC State Iowa UAB just over DePaul
-
Intentional or unintentional you left off UCLA who is a lock to get in. That was what I was forgetting. I knew this would happen. Edited Post coming up for the Snafu. Sorry about that.
-
I have to agree with that sentiment. The Atlantic 10 will be fine. This is what happens when all the top and Mid Tier Teams Implode at once, and they all have to start over. Next Year will be better, by far. It can't get any worse with the 49ers coming into the leauge. Though the A10 would do better to dump the Fordham's and Dunqense's of the world. And add teams like Manhattan, Old Dominion and Hofstra when the Big East Apoclaypse happens and it splits up, and the Basketball schools take some of the A-10s top Teams with them to form a new Conference.

Oh okay. Sorry KingPK. If you want to delete this go ahead. If not. Here we go. Here are my picks. Mutiple Bid Conference Represenatives. (Automatic Bid of Multiple Bid Leauges in Italics) (42) ACC: UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, Ga. Tech (4) Big East: Boston College, UConn, Syracuse, Villanova, Pittsburgh, West Virgina. (6) Big 10: Illinois, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Minnesota (4) Big 12: Oklahoma, Kansas, OSU, Texas Tech, Texas, Iowa State (6) Big West: Pacific, Utah State (2) CUSA: Louisville, Cincinatti, Charlotte (3) Missouri Valley: Southern Illinois, Creighton (2) Mountain West: Utah, New Mexico (2) Pac-10: Arizona, Washington, Stanford, UCLA (4) SEC: Kentucky, Alabamba, Flordia, LSU, Mississippi State (5) WCC: Gonzaga, St Mary's (2) WAC: Nevada, UTEP (2) Automatic Bids of definite one Bid Conferences (15) Vermont: America East Central Floridia: Atlantic Sun Montana: Big Sky Winthrop: Big South Old Dominion: CAA Wisconsin-Milwaukee: Horizion Penn: Ivy Leauge Niagara: MAAC Ohio: MAC Oakland: Mid Continent Deleware State: MEAC Fairleigh Dickinson: Northeastern Eastern Kentucky: Ohio Valley Chattanooga: Southern La-Lafayette: Sun Belt Automatic Bids of likely one Bid Conferences (3) Ohio: Mid-America George Washington: Atlantic-10 Bucknell: Patriot (This is more in Memorandium) Conferences yet to be determined that will get one bid (2) Southland Southwestern As of Sunday Morning at 7:38 AM in the morning, there are in all honesty only Three Bids left with Pacific losing in the Big West Final. And I will bet Dollars to Donuts that two of those final 3 Bids are taken by these two teams. NC State and Iowa. So there IS only 1 Spot left for these 15 "Legit" Teams. Miami OH UAB Buffalo DePaul Northern Iowa Indiana Maryland Notre Dame Saint Joseph's Wichita State Holy Cross Davidson Vanderbilt Texas A&M Virginia Tech Personally I think VT, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Davidson, Holy Cross, and now Witchia State are gone, and not much explanation is needed as to why. And now that we know what we know, I would also put St Joes, Buffalo, and Miami (Ohio) on the "you're just watching to be disappointed list." So that means we have Nothern Iowa, Norte Dame, UAB, DePaul, Maryland and Indiana with any shot left at the last bid. And looking at their resumes by the numbers, I would pick UAB just over DePaul, who was basically eliminated by losing UAB. However, more years than not, a Power or Major Conference steals a bid that should go to a deserving team, and I think this year is also one of those years. So Notre Dame may just end up stealing it. ----------------------------------------- So here is my final Field of 65 Conferences getting more than 1 bid, and teams that will get in. (Automatic Bid of Multiple Bid Leauges in Italics) (45) ACC: UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, Ga. Tech, NC State (5) Big East: Boston College, UConn, Syracuse, Villanova, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame* West Virginia (7*) Big 10: Illinois, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa (5) Big 12: Oklahoma, Kansas, OSU, Texas Tech, Texas, Iowa State (6) Big West: Pacific, Utah State (2) CUSA: Louisville, Cincinatti, Charlotte, UAB* (4*) Missouri Valley: Southern Illinois, Creighton (2) Mountain West: Utah, New Mexico (2) Pac-10: Arizona, Washington, Stanford, UCLA (4) SEC: Kentucky, Alabamba, Flordia, LSU, Mississippi State (5) WCC: Gonzaga, St Mary's (2) WAC: Nevada, UTEP (2) Automatic Bids of definite One Bid Conferences (18) Vermont: America East Central Floridia: Atlantic Sun Montana: Big Sky Winthrop: Big South Old Dominion: CAA Wisconsin-Milwaukee: Horizion Penn: Ivy Leauge Niagara: MAAC Ohio: MAC Oakland: Mid Continent Deleware State: MEAC Fairleigh Dickinson: Northeastern Eastern Kentucky: Ohio Valley Bucknell: Patriot Chattanooga: Southern SE Louisana :Southland Alabamba A & M :SWAC La-Lafayette: Sun Belt Automatic Bids of One Bid Conferences, unless some act of god happens. (2) Ohio: Mid-America George Washington: Atlantic-10 Either UAB or Notre Dame will get the final spot in the tournament Edited for the UCLA miss, and susequently edited for the Pacific loss, and my picks for the final 5 conference final winners.

YES!! FUCK YES!! SYRACUSE WINS THE BIG EAST!!! Oh man, what a game. I was in my seat the whole time, cheering and cursing the TV the whole game through. But I give all the credit in the world to West Virginia. They won 3 games, and took care of Business to get into the NCAA Tournament. Great week Mountaineers, you did the Big East Proud. Unlike a certain leech. (*coughNotreDamecough*) The Orange should move onto the 3 line for sure. If the committee is being nice, they may be the final 2 seed. But that would be stretch, and then we would Illinois Bait in Chicago.
-
IMO, here are my number 1 Seeds. Illinois = No Shit Sherlock UNC = No Shit Sherlock, again. However, they will sweat just a bit now. But, losing to a Complete Yellow Jackets Team is not a bad thing. Kentucky should they win out, or not get killed tomorrow. Cause the committee gives the SEC FAR too much credit. Finally, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Wake Forest. I think GTech may be on a misson, and I don't think JJReddick has the legs to beat a full GTech Team. (I pray that the Orange don't get the 3 Seed that has to face GTech in the second Round.) Though Olkahoma State or Kansas may sneak in there, and take it from Wake.
-
Recruiting is all year round from Midnight Mania, to 2 weeks before the Tournament, when I think they're not allowed to contact their recurits. Then a week after the Tournament, is where most of the signings take place in the 5 week period after it.
-
And also. Who else looking forward to G-Washington Vs. St. Joseph's? This will be a very interesting final, cause the A-10 usually gets 3 Teams in on average, but this has been a nightmare year for that conference, THIS may be the only bid that leauge gets. Both teams will be fighting for their lives here.
-
Even though I was cheering for Louisville, I can't laugh at Washington, that's gotta hurt so damn much. Though I think this will humble him, and probably will give him such a fire that Memphis will be so damn strong next year. In Hindsight, I feel sorry for every other school that will still be in, or coming into CUSA next year. Think they have a shot of running the Table in that conferece?
-
What a finish! I feel sorry for Washington Junior, that poor dude is going to spend the rest of his life thinking about that one minute where he could've won it all. But Louisville will take an Absoulte C-USA Title to the New Big East Next Year. I bet the front offices of CUSA are probably fucking pissed right now.
-
We may have more "Bubble Chaos" soon. Holy Cross is getting its ass kicked by Bucknell. Yes, THAT Bucknell. (Note: Holy Cross will not get a bid if it loses, but it would just make everyone sweat that much more.)
-
What the fuck? Clemson is acutally winning. This is like Rutgters staying in the game, but worse. Carolina should not be losing in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament, that's inexcusable.
-
Yes, I know I may have used bad criteria for the marquee and key wins, so yeah, I messed up there. I will admit my mistake. Also, I should've cleared up the Big 12 Teams time of loss, those losses would have to be on Saturday, cause then just the fact that if those two teams in question would probably be considered. Stupid me for not clearing that up. As far as the question of whether Louisville, or Boston College deserving the Seed more than the other. Both sides make a good case that can be argued either way. Maybe my logic is a bit screwed up, but when I see Boston College, I see a very good team that has been exposed in the past 2 weeks of the season, with West Virginia being the latest exposure. They had a good season, and won a share of the BE Regular Season Title, but they picked the wrong time to lose, IMO. They're 4 - 4 with 2 of those losses coming to Notre Dame and West Virginia. Good Teams as well, but not what the selection commitee would want to see. Louisville, however (and this isn't counting Arizona or UCONN, who may have more of a case for said Bid over Louisville), I see a team that is really hot right now, winning down the stretch, and winning a conference title that means something, outright. They, like Boston College are in the Top 10 of the Rankings, which puts them in the dicussion as well. Winning CUSA totally, would probably make their case stronger. Boston College does have the advantage of being in a better Conference, and having a better schedule. Even if they only had to face certain top Teams once, while others had to face them twice. Their victories do not leave much arguement as to whether they deserve to be Champions of their Conference. Louisville has the advantage of being hot at this critical juncture, and that could sway some people into their direction. However, you could also say that CUSA is a step below the Power Confernces, due to it's very Mid-Majorish Bottom Feeders, and that could work aganist them. Really, IMHO, it is a crap shoot between these two teams. You can make the arguement for either one of them to be a 1 seed. But not before other teams that have been more impressive. ------------------------------------- In reality, I pretty much agree Louisville will not get a 1 seed, and hasn't done enough in the eyes of America to deserve one. I just don't think Boston College will get one either, in any scenario, anymore.
-
You're kidding, right? Aside from the wins vs. Cincinnati and Florida (and those are kind of debatable), I can't see one one other win that Louisville has that could be considered a "marquee" win. Stanford certainly wouldn't qualify this year. The only really big game they had on the schedule, the Kentucky game, they lost. No, Louisville is a strong 2, but they're not moving from there. I would consider Arizona before Louisville for a #1 seed. I was counting top 100 RPI, so yeah, most of those wins are in the bottom 50. So I will stop doing that then. Like I said, it is very unlikely scenario.

Go ahead. I've got a real pool I'm doing for money, but if you set one up, I'll be glad to share my wealth of college basketball knowledge with the members of the board. Anyway, back to real discussion: If we're looking at who deserves the 1 seeds, I'd say Illinois and Carolina are locks, and the other 2 spots should go like this: 1. Duke/Wake Forest winner 2. Kansas if they win the Big 12 tourney w/o Langford 3. Kentucky if they win the SEC tourney 4. Wake, if they lose to Duke 5. Oklahoma St. if they win the Big 12 tourney 6. UConn if they win the Big East tourney 7. Duke, if they lose to Wake 8. If Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, OSU, and UConn all lose, then Boston College should get the last one seed. Of course, in reality, the result of the Big 12 title game won't even be factored in, so Wake and Kentucky are virtual locks. The only way it changes right now is if Kentucky loses fairly early in the SEC tournament. Oh, and on Notre Dame as a bubble team, I say out. 4-6 in their last ten games and 4-7 as a road + neutral record means they shouldn't make it. Of course, I haven't filled out the whole at-large field, so I can't say for sure that there are 34 better teams, but it's just my inclination that they don't deserve the spot. Well number 8 is dead, the Moutaineers took care of that shit, proper. Boston College will not get to the 1 Line, nor do they deserve to get to the 1 line in the first place, now. There shot at the 1 line was going to come if they won the Big East Tournament, but they won't win it. UConn will not get a 1 seed either. In their case, it is too little, too late, even if they are playing really hot basketball right now, there are other teams that just performed better than they did over the course of season. Remember, in Janurary, UConn was a bubble team, and not performing well at all. But, you had Wake Forest, Kentucky and even Louisville peforming better than they did. You are right about the Big 12 Tournament though, it ends too late, and the bracket is done by 4 PM. That tourney ends at like 5:50 PM, so there goes Kansas' 1 seed. Though there is one scenario that people are not exploring. What about the CUSA Season Champion, Louisville? Yeah, I bought them up. Picture this scenario. Louisville wins CUSA Kentucky loses Olkahoma State loses UCONN loses Duke loses (which is almost a certainity) Kansas loses Wake loses If all of these teams lose, who is to say that Louisville doesn't move up into contention to get the final piece of the 1 line? Lets take a short look at their profile. - Won a Major Conference, outright. - They've won 7 Straight Games - 9 - 1 in their last 10 - Won over 25 Games - Lost less than 5 games. - Have a Top 25 RPI Ranking - Have a shitload of Key and Marquee Wins - Have only one bad loss to their credit (Memphis) - Have a Top 80 Percentile Overall Schedule - Have a Top 66 Percentile OOC schedule Now add the fact that if they do win the tourney. - 9 Straight Wins - 9 - 1 in their last 10 still - Major Conference Tournament Title It would be hard not to include them in the 1 line discussion. What would keep them out, however is that they didn't play a OOC schedule on the level of a Kentucky, Olkahoma State or UConn, and there are teams that have a better RPI. Now I know this scenario is a stretch, but it is definetely something to think about.
