I'm with Precious Roy on this one. I don't know if they're the favorites in the East, but the pieces are there to get them back to the finals.
-
Just dig up Moolah's old bones and do a straight tag match.

I haven't had a chance to independently verify the numbers, but I read on another board that the Cavs would have about $34 million in expiring deals next year. So not only are they potentially much better now, they have pieces in place to swing something huge next year if need be.

See, there's a deal that works for everybody. Chicago gets some offense in the post with Gooden and get rid of Wallace in the process. Larry Hughes is overpaid, but he might be a better fit than in Cleveland. Couldn't make them any worse than they are now. Cleveland took a shitty situation and made it a little better. They don't need a big playmaker, they need role players around Lebron and this gives them a few. May not be enough to get them over the hump, but I will never doubt what James can do. Seattle just keeps moving in the right direction by shedding salary and hoarding picks. Eventually they'll make some noise. It's clear that their GM has some sense.

Dandy re-posting the Hogan-Flair thing made me chuckle. So did Kinetic's wrestling fans' progression of interests post. Good work guys!

Gerald Green to Houston for Kirk Snyder and a 2nd round pick. No word on whether or not the cupcake's going with him. Linky goodness

The Cavs need the Bulls to take back Larry Hughes in a deal so that they can use their exirings to acquire Wally Z. I don't see the Bulls doing that, so instead of Lebron getting 3 new starters to play with the team will probably end up doing nothing.

The sad thing was that almost all of Simmons' proposed deals made sense for both involved parties. Why can't real GMs swing deals like the ones he proposed? None of them have the balls to actually shake things up.

I also find it strange that so many wrestling fans have no interest at all in sports. I mean wrestling is a fake sport, after all. Wouldn't real sports be the logical progression for fans... or am I making a connection that doesn't really exist? -
EDIT: alfdogg got it first. That's not a great move for the Cavs, but I think it makes them a tiny bit better. Smith and Duhon would be good complementary parts for Lebron, but I don't know what Wallace does for them. They are good defensively already. They need to add scorers/shooters.

Dumbest Comment of the Day at TSM

Look, I get that some people don't like sports and therefore have no need to know who any of these guys are, but if watch tv, read a newspaper or listen to the radio, I don't know how you avoid them. Tom Brady just played in a game that 100 million people watched. How in the world do you avoid hearing anything about him? Dwyane Wade is every T-Mobile commercial out there. The whole thing is just unfathomable to me. -
Does anyone think that there might be pressure put on the league in coming years to relax their salary cap or make amendments to rules regarding trading after the ridiculous farces that were the Gasol and Kidd trades? It seems like no one cares for these rules, from the fans to the players to management. Whey keep this charade in tact any longer?

Marion's dream of being the star on a crappy team could be disappearing. Oh well, he still has the offseason to try and rectify the situation.

Jingus apparently lives in a cave that only shows pro wrestling. -
Akron Beacon Journal says that the Cavs are close to pulling off a blockbuster trade that will re-shape their roster (not the aforementioned Mike Miller deal). Apparently they need to pull in one or two other teams to make the cap numbers work and that's proving difficult at this late juncture. Sources tell the reporter it has a better than 50/50 chance of happening. So, I generally try to stay out of rampant rumor speculation, but who would they be trying to acquire? I'm guessing it would have to be Carter or Jermaine O'Neal. EDIT: David Aldridge says its Shawn Marion.

I have no idea if that's dumb or not. I could give a shit about MMA. -
#535. Hogan says he wants to wrestle Flair at Mania. Let's post the news item a half-dozen times.

No thanks. Flair's jobbed enough times to Hogan already. This would've meant something if it happened 16 years ago. This deserves its own thread. -

Shea Stadium is the perfect ballpark for lefty strikeout pitchers with flyball tendencies. I don't know how the new stadium will play, but for right now he's perfect as a back-end starter. John Maine too.

Celtic Jobber has never heard of Tim Duncan. How is that even possible? -
Sacramento may not seem like a huge destination for free agents, but in the NBA's current landscape the players go to the team with most cap room. Boozer in Utah, Lewis in Orlando, Nash to Phoenix and Joe Johnson in Atlanta... they are dozens of examples like this. Granted, the best players usually re-sign with their own squad, but teams with money usually get a good look regardless of where they are located.

For Brent Barry, Francisco Elson and a 2009 1st round pick Guess that takes them out of the Artest sweepstakes.
