State Your Unpopular Opinions
Lt. Al Giardello replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in The WWE Folder
Agreed. Virgil Vs. DiBasie Summerslam 91 was one of my personal favorite matches. Virgil's reaction in that match was amazing. Here is some of more of my un-popular opinions... - Brock Lesnar is the most overrated wrestler of the modern era, and anyone thinking he was better then Angle is foolish. - Angle is the best wrestler so far this decade. - Owen Hart was more main event material then Bret Hart - Bam Bam Bigalow is one of the greatest wrestlers to never hold a World Title. - The Outsiders are the most overrated tag team of all time. - WWF 96-97 was more entertaining then WCW 96-97. -
Didn't Matt say that he was going to the 2008 Olympic's? That makes me question that he is taking MMA seriously.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Lt. Al Giardello replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Anyone hear of Antonio Silva? From what I hear he is the best HW prospect out there today. He is 6-0 and has a victory over Tom Erikson. He also trains in the same gym as TUF3 LHW winner, Michael Bisping. People are already saying he will be the biggest thread to Fedor in a couple years, granted Fedor doesn't retire. -
I can see JO not getting traded. But I can see Marion and Gordon getting traded because Marion isn't worth the money he's getting, and the Suns can't afford him, Amare, Nash, Diaw all having large contracts. I can see Gordon getting trade simply because he will problay want more money when his contract is up, and the Bulls problay wont pay him the money he is expecting. So they don't want to give him up for nothing.

Yeah Kendall has no chance against Rich Franklin, Anderson Silva, Nathan Marquardt, or David Loiseau. But I think with a few more wins for experence he will be a threat in years to come. Espically if he continues to work with Tito. I think he would have a good chance to beat Swick, Leben, and possibly Evan Tanner. But there is no use to have him fight veterans like them. Give him a Joe Riggs fight right now, because I think Kendall would KO him now a days/

Biggest Money Fights for the UFC???
Lt. Al Giardello replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
LMAO at him calling Tank a legend. -
How does it hurt? It's an upgrade for our horrible offense. It gives Iginla more help, and a real 2nd scorer. We already have a large amount of capspace anyway. i dont necessarily think tanguay is going to make a world of difference. he'll help, but the flames have NO offensive punch whatsoever. its a team of grinders. which is fine. but if that one line is shut down, they'll be toast. you can use a huge chunk of your cap space on two guys. thats my opinion. thats why the lightning died this year, too. and thats why the canes did so well. Like I said, Calgary's cap space is fine. Darryl Sutter isn't an idiot. He knows what he is doing. If you don't think he's going to make a difference your going to be wrong. He gives much more depth to our offense. Hell last year he even had more points then Iginla. He is a very good passer, and will help Iginla alot. Our team is alot more then "grinders". We got a team with alot of players who can score 20 goals or more. Langkow had 25, Huesalies is far from a grinder, and since coming to Calgary his game is better, he had 20 goals last year, and has proven to be a clutch player. Phanuef will add 20 or more goals to. Tanguay brings a passing game that Iginla misses with Conroy. And we are adding 1 more center, to spicin up things. Calgary was a Stanley Cup contender last year, and this year they will still be.

No what happened? Hamill won by GNP in the 1st round. Man the UFC has to give us Bisping Vs. Griffin. That fight would be a war.
-
As a huge Flames fan, I'm really happy about the Tanguay and Leopold trade. Leopold was a dissapointment this season, and our defensive core is so good he will likely not be missed. Tanguay will give Iginla the offensive help he needs, and we are likely to get more in the off-season. GO FLAMES GO

Seriously, are you blind? It was a close fight and Kendall I thought deversed the desicion no question. Everytime a close fight happens and the fighter you pick doesn't get the desicion you always call bullshit(Griffin Vs. Ortiz), just shut up.

Biggest Money Fights for the UFC???
Lt. Al Giardello replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Why would Tito waste his time fighting Abbott? You have some weird idea's razazteca. -
I think Vick is a good QB, but I still think Jim Mora's west coast offense hurts him. When he was in Dan Reeves system I thought he was a much better QB. Dan Reeves got screwed over when they fired him. It's not his fault his star QB got injured during the pre-season. I still think if Dan Reeves was still the coach, Vick would be a better QB.

The Jardine fight. Too bad, I really want to see Solomon Vs. Luigi, Rory Vs. Ross, and Jesse Vs. Matt. Luigi came in like 1.5 pound over weight, Solomon still agreed to fight him. GO SOLOMON GO!

Man I'm amped up for tonight. Too bad I have to work tonight, but I'll watch the reply.

Our defense is fine. We got great DB's, and we added more depth to our DLine. Darren Howard should compliment Kearse fine. And we filled the need for a DT, when we drafted the Incredible Hulk. Our LB's are a bit suspect, but I think that Jim Johnson can deal with it. Trottier will hold it down at the MLB and continue to stuff RB's, Dhani Jones is a pretty good LB also and is a good start. The problem is on the leftside, but like I said Jim Johnson will deal with it. Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown will cause alot of problems, for QB's like they did in the past. And there's no need to explain anything about Brian Dawkins. We held our own last year despite McNabb only being 50% and having to leave halfway through the season, and the whole T.O. saga, and we showed that we have great young players. You guys will look stupid come season time, because our running game is going to be fine. Westbrook is a pro bowl RB, and Ryan Moats should his potential towards the end of the season. Watch out NFC East.

boy you sure like to kill somebodys dreams. For all we know he can be the next Jason Thacker,

Yeah Edmonton is a dirty city. The air there is disgusting. Calgary >>>>> Edmonton anyday of the week. With that said where will Pronger go? St. Louis is the most likely candidate, but I could see him going to LA Kings.

No Running Game and/or Commitment to the running game. Even when the Eagles COULD run the ball, Andy Reid didn't seem to like to do it very much. The Defense in the NFC East is going to be too tough on one-dimensional offenses. I can only imagine what it will look like when McNabb is forced to call 20 playaction passes in a row, as the defenses stop biting on it after the 3rd attempt. Actually Reid has already said he will be commited to rushing the ball more, to relieve stress off his new WR core. Westbrook and Moats is a good RB core, and would cause problems for alot of defense. Coming off a serious injury, I except the smart IQ of Andy Reid to relieve stress off McNabb and allow the runningbacks to do some work for him so he can be the old McNabb. I won't deny, Duce Staley's running had alot to do with McNabb's success. Andy Reid knows this. Redskins yes have added some offensive weapons to their attack. But in order to be an actual "Superbowl" winning team, they need to just let Burnell go, and let the new gun, Jason Campbell take them to it. I know Brunell is going to get injury, and Campbell will have to step in and prove he's better then oldflolk Mark. Randle El was the Steelers 3rd string WR, and Lloyd while made some nice catches, isn't a smart WR at all. Eagles will win the divison, and McNabb and Jim Johnson's defense will lead them there.

Eagles are taking the NFC East. They had the best draft selecting this year(Brodick and Winston are going to help us out big time filling needs that we need, Bloom could develop into a good KR, and Avant could be a sleeper). Yes one of the main reasons that I'm picking the Eagles, is because they are my team. But everyone in this thread has done the same. Howard and Gaffney were good signings aswell. But I think the main the thing that will help us out is that Donovan McNabb is healthy. Everyone mentions we don't have a big name WR, but we went to the NFC Divison Championship 4 straight years without a big name WR(T.O. got injured in his 1st season and McNabb lifted his team to the Superbowl). Last year also showed the potential of Reggie Brown and Ryan Moats. Those guys will be key players next year. People are sleeping on Reggie Brown, he will be our #1 WR most likely. Ryan Moats will most likely serve as a 3rd down/Short yardage RB. GO EAGLES GO!

Well considering it's coming from Sportsnet, it is a very reliable source. Edmonton will be fucked if Pronger goes. He was problay their emotional leader.

This is exactly the same way I feel about the Packers, except people are writing them off much worse. With the cupcake schedule, an improved defense, and Favre still around, I'm sticking to them finishing at least at .500, just like Philly. I have big time troubles seeing the Packers finish .500, this year. Farve is getting to old and the reciever core is not good enough for him, maybe if this was 30 year old Brett Farve this team would be a playoff team, but Brett Farve can't make his WR's better then they are anymore. He needs the help, bad mouthing his best WR on the team didn't help either. I think the Vikings, Bears, and Lions made the improvements on their teams to be better then the Packers. Vikes lost their star QB, defense is old, and still haven't found an adequate replacement for Randy Moss. The Bears traditionally shit the bed after they make a great run (and they may have a few too many questions on offense still to be the best), and the Lions are still the Lions. Green Bay severely underachieved last year, but with the schedule and all the injuries, plus The Sherm playing for OT all the time when they could go for the win led to a ridiculous amount of close games lost. I don't think we'll see that as much with the more aggressive (supposedly) Mike McCarthy. It's the NFL, after all, anything can happen. The lost their star QB last year and didn't have Moss either and still did decent. And now they made improvements to the offense by adding Hutchinson and Richardson. The Lions are making great strides for their future by hiring Mike Martz and Donnie Henderson. And now they finally got a decent QB for their young WR Core. Packers big free agent signing was Charles Woodson who problay will play 5 games for them.

Luger Shoots on WWE and ECW
Lt. Al Giardello replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in The WWE Folder
Luger was a overrated steroid up no charisma having bum anyway. Any good match he ever had he was carried. Dude is a drug addict now, and you except anyone to take him serious? Luger = The new Warrior. Watch he will have tons of rants going off about absolutely nothing. -

Biggest Money Fights for the UFC???
Lt. Al Giardello replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Those are really the only big money fights in the HW divison, unless Vera decides to stay in the HW divison. Seriously I think Vera is a big thread to Liddell if he goes down.
