Wait...it did kinda look like he got him in the shoulder. A little...I guess....sorta.
-
What the zuh? Oh...he kneed him in the face, ok. Well, that's kinda shitty.

Hell yeah. I think I can write that off as a business expense. And then I could like...use it in job interviews and stuff. "Ok, Mr. Robertson, can you explain this entry on your resume under job experience?" "Yeah...I brings tha content, bay-bee!!!!!!" Hell yeah!

And just to expand on the weight classes in case you were wondering: Lightweight is 146 lbs. to 155 lbs. Welterweight is 156 lbs. to 170 lbs. Middleweight is 171 lbs. to 185 lbs. (not 186.5, unfortunately for Lutter...) Light Heavyweight is 186 lbs. to 205 lbs. Heavyweight is 206 lbs. to 265 lbs. Back in the early days of UFC, there used to be no weight divisions, so you'd sometimes get like...a 400 pound dude against a 150 pounder. Fun stuff.

Ok, we've had a Kevin James siting....where's Michael Clark Duncan?

That takedown in the first round was pretty sweet, but, my God...every time they engaged, they pulled off. Quit being best friends and knock the guy the fuggout! Oh well, Cote'll win...finally. Bring on Rampage~!

RE: Chuck Lidell; He's not injured. He just fought and beat Tito Ortiz in December. He did have...something with his hand, but nothing major. He was wearing a cast, but I think it should be off by now. And he's definitely not an interim champ. He's been LHW champ for almost 2 years (April 16th, 2005). Every fight since then, he's finished by KO or TKO, most in the first round or the first couple minutes of the 2nd round (w/ exception to Jeremy Horn, who Chuck TKOd in the 4th round), and he's looked rather dominant. His overall record is 20-3 with...11 or 12 KOs. His last loss was in 2003 against Quinton Jackson. I don't think there's another fighter in the UFC that has more people hanging on his nuts than the Iceman, and with good reason. This Cote/Smith fight is ass.

When was that? Was it recently? Clemens does lots of golf tournaments, so I'm not sure of when this one was, but I hadn't heard any comments where he said that he'd only play in Houston if at all. If he did say that, YEAH BOY-EEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

I bet it was that scoundrel vivalaultra! Scoundrel!!!!

I saw Guster when I brought my sister to see John Mayer in like...2004. They weren't terrible. The guitar player was making eyes at my sister and I think the drummer plays with his hands. And the lead singer looks a little like Rob Schneider.

Yeah...I've only got two more months to come up with quality material for posts. My rep is on zee line.

Well, if Lutter wins, it'll be a tainted victory. I mean...he's a light heavyweight; he should be fighting Rampage or Chuck or something. There's a title fight. Get Chuck to come out tomorrow nite and fight Lutter; one punch knockout, Chuck keeps his title, Lutter got his title shot for winning TUF, everybody's happy.

It doesn't really affect my plans to order. I mean, Pride doesn't always have title fights and I usually order those. There's still Cro Cop and Rampage and despite being non-title, I still think Lutter/Silva will be a good fight. It just seems like everything that could've went wrong with this card did go wrong. First GSP not being able to fight, Lutter can't make weight, and Melvin Guillard's not gonna be on the card. Still, there's enough potentially good fights to not have this affect the decision to order.

After reading your post, what exactly makes it so "Post of the Month"-worthy? It's grammatically bad. Stylistically it's all over the place. And the title isn't even a full thought. "One of my worst beats EVER!!! This is a must see and a must" What does that even mean? A must see and a must what? Don't leave me hangin', dawg. And, it might just be because I don't bet on sports, but I have no idea what your post is about. The competition must be pretty slim for you to be involved in this contest. And what kind of rich, tycoonish, eccentric moderator does that board have that gives out $250 a month for crap posts? Why don't they get something like that going over here? I brings tha quality, yo!

Neither Patrick Cote nor Scott Smith had a problem making weight....just sayin'. And Rampage just said that he's a werewolf, but don't tell anybody. And in the Sanchez/Cro Cop picture from the weigh-ins, Eddie Sanchez looks scared shitless, and he should be.

I can't, in good conscience, vote for your post as 'post of the week' when BigDaDDySLiM's post "SUPERBOWL PREDICTIONS POST" is clearly a superior post. Sorry.

Wait...since Travis Lutter couldn't make weight, they brought in Michael Stipe to fight Anderson Silva for the MW title? Holy shit, I'm there!
-
Holy shit, that's terrible. I mean...I've lost about 10 pounds in the last three months by going jogging three times a week. He shouldn't have eaten that last piece of pizza for lunch. He shaved his head to cut weight? Did he have like...a super 'fro or something? That's hilarious. Really too bad, too...now there's no title fight on the card.

Ha! The Astros signed Scott Sauerback and Rick "Double Balls" White to minor league contracts with a ST invite. Also invited to Spring Training are uber prospects Hunter Pence and Troy Patton. Patton's left-handed, has a career 2.97 ERA, a 9.27 K/9, a 2.54 BB/9, and a .49 HR/9 in the minors and, by all accounts is one of the top 20 pitching prospects in baseball, but Wandy Rodriguez is also left handed and has 2 seasons of major league experience, so it's a tough call as to which one will get a rotation spot.

I don't think that quote paints Clemens as a dick. I've heard countless atheletes in all sports say that not making the playoffs is a waste. I mean, that's what they're playing for...competitive drive and all that. However, most of the atheletes that say things like that are ones that play a full season and don't get sit out road trips and come and go as they please, but....uh....yeah. And then you have to factor in that he came back and had a 2.30 ERA and only had a 7-6 record. I think most people would feel that was a waste of time. Every offseason Astros' fans talk about what a dick and what a primadonna Roger Clemens is and how they hope he doesn't come back and blah, blah, but...man, those tickets still sell out every damn time. The fact of the matter is that Roger Clemens is the greatest right-handed pitcher of all-time and has accomplished virtually everything in baseball (...outside of throwing a no-hitter, but for arguement's sake), so his only goal is playing in the postseason. Last year, it wasn't a case of him not wanting to pitch until June; it was the rules that forced him to do that. The Astros didn't offer arbitration, so he couldn't sign until May and then had to have a few tune-up starts before he came in. When he did come back, from June till October, he was the best pitcher in baseball and did everything he could to try to lead the Astros to the playoffs. The Astros didn't miss the playoffs because of Roger Clemens being a bad teammate; they missed the playoffs because Jason Lane hit .200, Morgan Ensberg hit .225, and Wandy Rodriguez was the 4th starter. It might seem like Clemens is just sitting on his ass waiting till June to see who's in a better position out of the Astros, Sox, or Yanks, but the last few years he's had a tendency to break down in October, so, the half-season deal just happens to keep him fresher for the potential postseason. And besides, he's the greatest pitcher I'll ever see in my lifetime; I'll take some degree of BS.

Yeah, I think, despite what he said, Heath underestimated Irish and, as a result, left himself open to takedowns and after the first couple lost his confidence a little bit.
-
I think the main problem with the fight was that it was a horrible mismatch. Herring's a sloppy striker and O'Brien can take people down like a mofo but can't do anything when he gets em down. I have no idea why they would've put somebody like Herring against somebody like Irish if they were trying to actually make Herring look like an exciting and credible fighter. I can think of about 5 or so fighters that Herring would've matched up better against and put on a more exciting fight. Stick him in there against Frank Mir or Christian Wellisch or Hell, stick Cheick Kongo in there against him or something. All Heath wanted to do after O'Brien showed that he could take him down at will was stand up and strike. After Irish kept taking him down and showing that he couldn't do anything on the ground, Herring knew that he couldn't get in close or else he'd just lose the match by decision and Irish knew he didn't have a shot standing up so he just kept taking him down and laying on him. It was a shitty fight, but I'm sure that Herring can do better than that.

Hey...you can't be mean to Glendon Rusch. He has a serious medical condition! I'm not sure if the condition is related to his sucking, but still...

After watching that video, I found this video...which is only slightly related. The Life and Times of Sammy Sosa

In spite of everything-the corked bat, the breaking his back by sneezing, the alleged steroid use, the years playing for the Cubs-I hope that Sammy Sosa comes back and does well, because, if he does, he might get another baseball video game, for which, he will have to do a commercial.
