I am listening to Nickel Creek's Why Should the Fire Die? It is very good. I wish that I had started listening to them sooner. At Austin City Limits, I caught part of their show and they did a cover of Britney Spear's "Toxic" that was sensational. Bluegrass rules...to tha max.

I was gonna say that his family had gotten a good deal on services for him...10 funerals for a dollar, but I thought the freeze-dried joke was better.

Judging by the several new Arcade Fire songs I've heard in the last few days, I'm looking forward to the release of their new album Neon Bible, due out the first week of March. I'm not sure if the name is in reference to the novel by John Kennedy Toole who also wrote A Confederacy of Dunces.

I just saw zee movie tonite, and I agree that it's awesome. Alfonso Cuaron is just....wonderful. Every shot in the movie was beautiful. The cinematography was off the chain. In addition to fine acting jobs by Clive Owen et al., the camerawork was extraordinary. It had a great documentary style. The one continuous shot in the refugee camp was breathtaking. The ending seemed, at first, to come out of nowehere, but totally worked and made sense. In every sense of the word, this film was fantastic.

I hope this will cause the Padres to trade Jake Peavy to the Astros for Wandy Rodriguez. It would send a message that Kevin Tower's don't employ no hooligans, yo.

I'm pretty sure he does. It's a funny visual, but shows how much being champ means to him, even if he's just holding it till Vera, Arlovski, or Cro Cop get a shot. I only wish that Cheick Kongo hadn't dropped that fight to Carmelo Marerro a couple months ago. I dig the Kongo. And is there honestly any interest in Little Evil/BJ Penn II? There's the whole BJ Penn avenging a loss angle, but after he wins and moves back up in weight, whose gonna be left at 155 to keep the division afloat? When's Sherk coming back, anyway? Like October? -
Yeah, the 10 year old that killed himself mimicking the hanging lived in Webster, TX...like...5 miles from my house. Here's the article from the Houston Chronicle. That's just a terrible tragedy.

That's a terrible picture of Hunter Pence. And there's also prospects Matt Albers, Troy Patton, Mark McLemore, Chris Sampson, Brooks Conrad, Jimmy Barthmaier, and Felipe Paulino del Guidice. Wait...one of those doesn't belong.

I imagine another move is going to follow this one. I read a story last nite that that said Loretta told the Rangers he wouldn't be going to Arlington, because he was going to another team that would "offer him more playing time." And the Rangers offered him $1 million more than Houston. I could see Ensberg being dealt for a starting pitcher and Loretta sliding over to 3rd with Eric Bruntlett retaining the superutility role. Or else Loretta's just going to take over for Biggio after he gets his 3,000th hit.

Fergie is 31. She is a former member of KIDS Incorporated and Wild Orchid. She was a co-host of the TV show "Great Pretenders". Fergie was born in 1975 in Hacienda Heights, CA to happy parents Patrick Ferguson and Terri Gore. As a child actress, Fergie was the voice of Sally Brown in "It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown(1984)" and "Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown(1985)". After Wild Orchid's record label declined to release the group's third album, Fergie became addicted to the drug crystal meth. According to an interview with a Scottish newspaper, Fergie claims that during this period, her weight dropped to 90 lbs. She told friends she was bulimic. In July of 2003, Fergie lended her voice to another animated character, this time, the fictitious rock diva Shaffika in the "Rocket Power" special "Reggie's Big Beach Break". Later that year, Fergie took over female vocal duties for hip-hop fusion combo Black Eyed Peas, replacing former vocalist Kim Hill. Before she was permitted to join the group, she recorded five songs with Will.I.Am and the lighter skinned guy. In 2005, Fergie backed out of the updated version of John Carpenter's "The Mist". Also in 2005, Fergie urinated in her pants while performing a concert, blaming the incident on a large number of drinks and a shaky bladder. Peeing in her pants didn't stop Fergie from snagging No. 36 in Maxim's Hot 100 List for 2006. On September 19th, 2006, Fergie released her solo debut, "The Dutchess", an intentional mispelling of the title of Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. Following the success of singles "London Bridge" and "Fergalicious", Fergie plans on releasing the song "Glamorous (feat. Ludacris)" as the third single. On her official myspace, she has set up a poll where fans can vote on the subsequent single. Currently, Fergie is dating Josh Duhamel who stars in the hit show "Las Vegas". Fergie is also set to star in the film "Grind House" set for a 2007 release. Fergie has won 2 Grammys, 2 American Music Awards, 2 MTV Video Music Awards, 2 MTV Europe Video Music Awards, 1 Teen Choice Award, and 1 Soul Train Music Award both as a solo artist and with the Black Eyed Peas.

Don't forget to constantly yell out "FOOT STOMPS!" whenever they're in a clinch. If I'm lucky, maybe Edwin Dewees will be fighting, so during his match, I can yell out, "SHOOOOOOOOOLLDAHHHH PRESSHA BAM BAM!!!!!" Ah....Matt Serra, you Italian vanilla midget, you... -

I think by right after they get this Matt Serra nonsense over with, Hughes should get first crack, Diego should get second, and then go to Penn. But it's kinda moot, since BJ's coaching the next TUF and moving down to 155. -

Holy Shit, I'm so going to that...potentially...if I can find tickets. I wanna sit next to the guy from King of Queens...and I wanna yell out "HAAAAAAAAAAMAHFIST!!!!!!" intermittently when Matt Serra's fighting. And if Serra's getting his shot in April, when does Matt Hughes get his rematch? I'd much rather watch Matt Hughes lose than Matt Serra. -
Yeah..."Still Fightin' It".... I guess it's not really sad in the mournful, heartbreaking sense, but it's sad in the winsome, bittersweet sense. The whole song's Ben Folds telling his kid that growing up sucks, but he'll eventually get through it and then leave his Dad sad and lonely. Another sad song is "Come Home" off The Dismemberment Plan's somewhat underrated follow-up to Emergency and I, Changes.

Here's the Fedor/Hunt fight on Youtube: Fedor vs. Mark Hunt-Pride Shockwave 2006 It looked like Hunt was in control for a good majority of the fight and he did have a kimura on Fedor at one point. However, he didn't really have it on all that well. After the fight, Fedor said he wasn't ever in trouble during the fight, and, if Fedor says it, I believe it. I'll go back to lurking now.

That one song by Ben Folds on the Rockin' the Suburbs CD is quite moving. The one about his son...where the Roast Beef Combo is only $9.95.

I like the new Modest Mouse song. They're less weird now, give or take. Right now, I'm listening to...the new My Chemical Romance CD, and...dammit!...it's not half-bad. In fact, it's...pretty good. I'm so confused.

I'd add most Red House Painters' songs to the list. Mark Kozelek is a sad, sad man. Also, "You Were Wrong" by Built to Spill is a sad song, but still asskicking in its awesome gee-tar power.

Can I change my smartass pick of The Czech Republic, even though I still wouldn't be surprised to see his antics finally catch up with him?
-
And at least two of those positions he plays pretty well.
-
I was surprised that Huff lasted this long on the market, considering he's been better than a few guys signed earlier for more money. I sure hope that Ensberg rebounds next year or else the Astros are gonna look bad for not resigning Huff, especially for the relatively cheap price he went for.

A couple more: "Asleep" by The Smiths "Sixteen Maybe More" by Iron and Wine/Calexico "Your Cheatin' Heart" by Hank Williams Sr. "Mother" by John Lennon "All Mixed Up" the Red House Painters version "Song to the Siren" either Tim Buckley or This Mortal Coil (This Mortal Coil is the sadder version) "Travelling Light" by Tindersticks The Entire Requiem for an Almost Lady album by Lee Hazlewood "Always on My Mind" and "Angel Flying too Close to the Ground" by Willie Nelson
-
I'd also like to add "Casimir Pulaski Day" by Sufjan Stevens. It's always sad to think about kids with cancer, and this song is just gloriously heartwrenching.
