Yes it was... Hah!

Got mine up... I think...

Dude... You suck like no one's ever sucked before. Eh... Just checking in... Seeing how all my old friends are doing. Prepping for a comeback... Again... Hah. Not quite yet... Peace.

Looks like we're pretty well dead, eh?

Somewhere between 1 and 2 myself. I was really looking forward to hitting up a Sharks game or two this past season. And while I'll be happy to see them playing again, and I'll try to see a game in person... The key word is -try-. I'm not gonna go out of my way to go to a game whereas before all this nonsense, I probably would've taken a day or 2 of leave to go.
-
Well... I'd be all for starting over... But how would we arrange it with all the people in right now? How much talent would we trickle into the league each season? I'd love to help out, but... 1) I can't write nearly as well as you can... The reviews and such would not be nearly as good, and 2) I don't have OOTP 6.5, nor the caysh to pick it up. I want the SFBL to continue. This is very fun. But, not sure what I can do to help. So... I'll just hope for the best.

Article from Indians.com We normal folks out here know that there's a goodly amount of jobs that we have to get drug tested for. And I'm sure there's a few of us that have gotten nailed by a 'false positive' for, say, eating a poppy seed bagel within a day or so of the test. Now the fact that Betancourt's bringing up an appeal possibility and that he's on the DL brings up (what I think) is an interesting question: Is there anything that a ballplayer might take during a stint with a minor injury or while on the DL, or just coming off an injury, that could set up a false flag on a test? While I'm not knocking the commish's drug-testing plan, we all know it's not perfect. Also, I have not seen anything in any of these 'public broadcasts' of any suspensions that has stated what the player(s) tested positive for... To me, that's not the "full public disclosure" I was expecting from the policy.

It's sad to think that a guy making even league minimum (which is definitely more than I could ever hope to make in 10 years, let alone 1) would put his life at risk to improve his skills when he could, I don't know... Improve his workout routine? His diet? Again, I know there's a limit to a player's development... But why not just work at being the best at what you have, and not put it all on the line to be something you're not.
-
But is the guy that's only hit 2 home runs so far in a 5 year MLB career really naive enough to think that "'roiding up" now is going to give him a HoF career? I'm sure there's scientifically-researched limits to these drugs... You've got to have something to work with to enhance, right?
-
That's why I keep wondering... I'm glad that Bud put some beef into the drug-testing policy. But the whole idea that it's finding only minor leaguers, relievers of no "big deal", and bush-league hitters... I guess I'm one of those folks that won't be happy til they nail someone with a name that at least means something to me.
-
Okay, I can understand all that... But I'm posing the question kind of beyond the realm of steroids. I'm sure there's more "performance-enhancing" drugs out there. What I'm wondering is if there's anything else that might cause a 'reaction' kind of like the abnormalities in hormone levels like steroids does. Or if there's any other 'drugs' that might be detected, but found in natural sources... Like my poppy seed example.

One of those low-flying worm-burners, I would guess.

I would've said John Rocker, but thankfully the baseball gods are merciful, and made his '99 Braves team lose to the Yanks in the WS... I know that he's not a player and all, but one Arthur B. Modell comes to mind. That guy's about as useless as a fart in a sealed room, and shouldn't have even gotten a sniff of a Super Bowl after the Cleveland fiasco. Mark Madsen should have his championship revoked after that alleged "dance number" he put on. Not that I could do any better, but...
-
I think it's safe to say that that was my worst month ever. :|
-
And maybe it's working just fine, and I wanted to respond anyway.

Unless the Yanks are willing to sell their season now, there's not a chance in anyone's Hell that Grady is leaving the Indians. Sizemore, along with others, are going to make up a core of young players that should have the Indians in contention for several years. It might not be like the latter years of the 90's, but the Hafners, Martinezes, Sizemores, et al. can and will thrive in a still-weak AL Central.
-
Just like the Indians, my friend. Teased with a 9-game winning streak, then BOOM! That's the sound of the wheels falling off. Looks like Dolan / Shapiro fleeced the fans of Cleveland with his '05 prediction.

(Posts the defibrilator and paddles) CLEAR! ***ZOT!!!*** C'mon... Live, damn you... LIVE!!!

I'm trying to figure out how the Indians could manage to take all but 1 game from this month's interleague play, and then promptly stick it in their ear, and lose 3 straight against Boston. Granted, the Sox are the defending national champions (Goddess, I'd love to see Yankee fan cringe at that...), but still... It's not like our lineups and whatnot have fundamentally changed during that 3-game set. Also granted that the NL West is about as good as the AL Central this year (and the Tribe hasn't played well against them, either), and the BoSox are on an absolute holy tear right now. Okay, maybe it's easy to figure out after all. They're just beating the teams that they should beat, and getting whupped by the ones they should go .500 against. All I have to say is that the next 3 are against Cincy. Step it up, boys.

I was happy to see that Joe Table was back to his old form (and he's out of an Indians uniform whilst doing it). But I'm not a Yankees fan, so I guess that doesn't count.

I heard ruminations that EA Sports is dropping their relationship with Madden as it is after Madden '06. Tried to find something on EA Sports' website, but couldn't. But in all honesty, I doubt it would affect much. Madden was under contract with EA to do football for them. Kruk and Kuip for baseball. Nessler / Corso / Herbstreit for college pigskin. All rival networks and such, but all under contract from EA to be the PBP talent for their games. If the College Gameday guys can be in a "rival" game (as opposed to ESPN's brand of College Football), that says it all right there.

I'd just like to point out that the Cleveland Indians are winners of 4 straight, and 7 of their last 8. The White Sox are bound to falter coming up sometime soon here. And the Twins don't have anyone in their lineup that scares me. (Snicker) Add in the fact that this is, after all, the AL Central, and I think this can be a 3-horse race still.

How much one guy can hate Reggie Jackson

Now that's just freakin' classic. -
And here I am, still waiting on my first. What the Hell's wrong with me?
