Good job, Tampa. Maybe next year, if they decide to count our goals, we will get over the hump.

Um, up here, we always say that Maher sounds just as excited when the other team scores. The only way we can tell is by the goal horn.

Nah, I think Tampa Bay has played a darned good game. Calgary's just turned it up a few notches, is all. Tampa would win a lot of games playing the way they have.

smh: You're a whining loser who's making up for his team's poor play by saying that Calgary's hard-hitting style is "dirty". Considering what I've seen from Tampa fans so far, you fit right in. As for the Nieminen suspension, it's horseshit. That was 2 minutes for boarding, NOT 5 and a game. Lecavalier faked an injury until he got what he wanted, and then skated off unaided. Of course, Nemo's actions are totally awful, whereas the Stillman/Roy elbows on Nilson and Nemo are totally fine. It's fine when Tampa does it, right, NHL? Right, because you want the Americans to win again. It's all about star power and money, which is why the Flames have been royally fucked over by the refs and the league for the entire playoff run.

    The Men at Work...

Is the Mark Starr of WCW jobbing fame the same guy as Marky Starr, Stampede midcarder?

Nemo's hit, I can understand why people say it was stupid. However, the two-man advantage was bullshit. Fraser gift-wrapped one for TB, and cost us the game.

    Huge Update on Lesnar....

Good for Brock, for stepping away from something that was making him miserable and trying to live out a dream.

Nah, I didn't. I figured that if I went, I'd end up having to work during the intermissions, and I didn't feel like it.

Monday Night RAW on Memorial Day 2004

RAW in Montréal is always good. I'd watch, but something SLIGHTLY more important is on.

I was in section 203, somewhere near the top. Did you stop by the Fanattic stores at all, Tawren? I work there, and I was in the one with the jersey press for most of the night.

Tampa's probably got one more win in them, but Calgary will take this one in 6.

We sucked last night, just like Tampa sucked on Tuesday. Let's hope that both teams get their acts together for tomorrow night.
  13. Good for him. It sounds like he's found his calling, and good luck to him in the pursuit of it.

    Best sappy/romantic "oldies" songs?

"I Think We're Alone Now" and "Crimson and Clover" are both by Tommy James and the Shondells.

Well, it is pretty great up here, with the Flames FINALLY getting the city revved up and ready to party. All the bandwagon jumpers do kind of irritate me, speaking as someone who's cheered them on through 7 years of nothing. I mean, some of my friends who couldn't have told you who Miikka Kiprusoff is at the start of March are now sporting body stickers, shirts and flags, and cheering in the hallways at school. It's nice, but I know they aren't true fans.

I thought that last night's game was sloppily played on both fronts. Bad D, bad goals, bad hockey. It was exciting for sure, but still sloppy.

    Your teams biggest heartbreaking moment

Montreal Canadiens: Going on the late-season rally to end all late-season rallies in 1999-2000, coming within a point of the playoffs, only needing one point to clinch... and being beaten in Game 82 by the Sens on a breakaway goal where the scorer was about 6 strides offside.

    Creepy sports predictions

I predicted the Flames would finish 6th in the conference. Then I said Flames over Nucks in 7, Flames over Wings in 6, and Flames over Sharks in 6. Uncanny. Remind me never to bet against them.

Well, I don't suppose I have to say who I'm rooting for. Flames in 6 was my prediction, and I'm standing by it.

    RedSox/Royals/Mariners 3-way deal?

Personally, I think that the Red Sox have an excuse to spend so much.

    What is this song called?

This song I heard on the radio a few times... it's from the lates 70s-early 80s, and all I remember is that it starts with "I see you there in your satin shirt Unfocused eyes on the ceiling" I've heard it everywhere, and I really like it, but I have no idea what it's called. Anyone out there that can help?
