OAO Destination X PPV Thread
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
With each passing month, the traffic in the TNA PPV threads falls to even lower levels. You usually get someone giving semi-ongoing commentary of the PPV's, but even that isn't happening for what is likely to be a PPV that'll get in the range of 20,000 buys. Why aren't the people who speak so highly of Impact in here talking about the PPV? Surely such compelling TV should have made them want to put down the money for this PPV? -
TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

What Raw have you been watching? You must have some strange definition of the word "caring", because the people haven't come close to not caring about Cena. -
0.97 for the go home show.

It's almost scary when you realize that Russo is probably going to come up with a stupid gimmick to add to each cage match. Two gimmicks killed in each match. -

One of the latest Observers says that the LAX/Team 3D 'Ghetto Brawl' at Destination X is intended to lead to an electrified cage match at Lockdown. -
I think the same thing about you. The rest of the comments about me are amusing too.

Nigel McGuinness A great man who will inevitably be picked up by WWE. Great wrestler, fun on the mic, and should be a cornerstone of ROH this year. May even be the one who snags the ROH belt from Morishima. FIP I've seen very little FIP, which is a shame because I'd probably really like it. ROH-DG-NOAH Partnership and subsequet result of all ROH titles being held by Japanese promotions and ROH carrying a DG belt and briefly, a NOAH title. I completely endorse this partnership, and it can only lead to good things for all involved. I'm really looking forward to the ROH/DG and ROH/NOAH shows in Japan, and can't wait to see what matches get put together. It's a shame that Joe couldn't be involved; even if he wasn't pulled from ROH when he was he wouldn't have been able to make it because of TNA. Mike Choida He doesn't screw up and is good at his job, which is all you can ask for. Death Match Wrestling Not worth wasting time on.

From an emotional standpoint, that main event was Fight of the Millenium. It was the fight I said I hoped to see, never thinking I'd actually get it. Couture made Sylvia his bitch. And it was glorious.

Alvarez. How many times did Austin get pinned in the lead up to his title win by a virtual scrub who has never beaten anyone and isn't even that over without someone else to leech heat off? Well, he did to lose to a back then not as experienced as he would be 6 years later Mr. McMahon in matches.... Or at least one match, IIRC. I should have specified that I meant in the lead up to his first title win againt Shawn. And the answers is none (at least according to memory and Cawthon's site). Beating Joe two weeks before what should be, unless TNA really have lost their minds, his first NWA Title win, is stupid. Mindnumbingly so. Joe getting beaten up three-on-one to build heat for the title match? Not so bad, but would have been better without Abyss laying him out as well. Joe actually getting beaten? Ass backwards booking at its worst.
-
In that case, we can expect Michael Cole to get put in around 2010 for being the lead announcer on Smackdown.

Meltzer. If 'nobody knows who Lance Russell is', then why not, I don't know, EDUCATE THEM. Have Lawler do a three-minute piece talking with Russell about his career, showing clips and letting people see who Russell was and what he did, and finish off with letting people know Russell will be inducting Lawler. It'd sure get over what Lawler's done to the casual WWE audience, most of whom probably don't really know what Lawler has done to warrant being the HoF in the first place.
-
Meltzer Not a surprise, really.

Your home is burning down, what do you save?
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Youth N Asia's topic in General Chat
Can I swap people in exchange for saving more stuff? -
Bryan Alvarez talked about the Mistico deal on F4 Daily. He said the tryout went well, and the wording of the report he got on the tryout indicated that if Mistico was signed, he'd be sent to developmental and and wrestle on the road as well, which I would assume to be so he can learn to work 'WWE style'. From that, it sounds like things went well in that WWE appear to be reasonably keen on signing him.

The alledged Randy Savage ban from WWE.
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
The reason usually given for Savage's treatment is that WWE thnks he's nuttier than Warrior, which is far more credible than the urban legend that he nailed Stephanie. That nuttiness has a ton of evidence to back it up. As for Savage getting the WCW Title in 1998, he got the belt simply to transition it from Sting to Hogan. He did the same thing the next year, transitioning the belt from Nash to Hogan. -

So, because a girl doesn't want to sleep with you when you feel she should, she's a prude?

It looks like this thing is going down to the wire.

The One and Only Raw Thread for 2/26/07
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Art Sandusky's topic in The WWE Folder
The build for Cena/Shawn has been really good and the tease of superkick has been great. Once Shawn hits the kick, hopefully to end the last Raw before Wrestlemania, there's only two words to describe it: Ker-Ching. -
Hopefully, Test will get off the gas for a while and lose some of his GH gut. He may as well do something for his health while there's no need to shoot up.

With WCW still intended to be a seperate promotion, the only major idea I heard for Hunter was for him to be the top star of WCW with everything built around him.
