They could have done MUCH better than that.

You can't say that on TV!

The Bret rant was entirely scripted. -
WM VII was always going to be Hogan/Warrior II, but when they felt Warrior was flopping they went to Hogan/Slaughter.

Would they have Edge win the MITB again? Or would they end his Wrestlemania streak, thus losing the possibility of Edge vs Taker, streak vs streak at WM 24? They would have to have Edge win again, but they can save his title shot for when they're ready to pull the trigger on the split and have Orton cause Edge to loss the title match.
-
Edge and Orton being in MITB together would enable them to interract in a way to tease their eventual split, and would put them in an important match, but without the need to beat either of them or have one of them beat the other.

The main event was really good and the crowd were great. The midget match and the ECW title match were ungodly horrible. While JBL was good carrying things on commentary, I think his forte is color and not being the main play-by-play guy.

Do you want Mistico to do well, get signed and make more money, or hope he fails so doesn't get abused by WWE? ....why would they bring him in to job him out? That was a rhetorical question, right?

The best comments on the rating, which is bad no matter how you'd like to spin it, come from the Torch. You've got a couple of people on their boad claiming TNA should be excused from making mistakes because they're so young, as well as the usual complaint about only having one hour. And Keller actually thinks Impact took a bite out of Raw's rating.

I like the booking of Joe/Morishima, because it puts the Morishima/Homicide match into question. On one hand, Morishima winning the ROH Title seems unllikely, but on the other hand, it seems even more unlikely that Morishima will lose twice in a row. They could go either way with this, and it's great.

I bet $50,000 that it at least leads to some kind of humiliation angle.

With major luck, this might wake TNA up into realizing where they really are in the grand scheme of things. It should also kill off any fantasies of going head-to-head with Raw on Monday, because they wouldn't just get destroyed, they'd get smashed into tiny bits. So nobody's going to mention Steiner tapping out to Angle in their first interraction?
-
Probably. They occasionally throw in veiled references to some internet rumors. When Van Dam pinned Edge at Vengeance, to retain the WWE Title, JR said something along the lines of it shocking a lot of people, which was in reference to the widely held assumption that Van Dam was only holding the title for a couple of weeks.

What I noticed the most from the main event was Edge got protected over the other heels near the end. When it came time for Undertaker to make the comeback for the babyfaces, Edge was the heel to get out of having to play pinball when selling for Undertaker's punches. Not a big surprise, but it stood out.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to dubq's topic in TNA Wrestling
Dave Meltzer was on F4 Daily and mentioned the Last Rites match between Sting and Abyss on the next PPV. He said he's asked several people in the company what exactly it entails, and not only does nobody know or have any idea, but nobody cares enough to even try and find out. -
1.5, which seems to be what ECW is going to get forever. Or until it gets cancelled.
-
HTQ, do you post on THE BOARD? What board? That was from today's update on the Observer site.
-
The match never aired on TV, but it was taped. I didn't see the trial that resulted from it, so it's possible that coverage of the trial saw the footage aired.

If they do that, they need to be careful to make SUBTLE. It can't be a shoving match or anything like that. An annoyed look or a shake of the head, but nothing too obvious.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

PWInsider The injury occured on an indy show TNA booked Killings in. They're lending him the money for the surgery, but are docking his pay to recover the money. Isn't wrestling a wonderful business. -
They could always have Team RKO get the tag belts back as part of the Cena/HBK storyline and put them in a four-way tag match. If they really are going to hold off the Edge/Orton match, which I think they're going to, it might be the only way to get them on the WM card in a match that makes sense.
-
Yeah, they'll break Orton and Edge up before DX have had the chance for revenge. Orton and Edge aren't breaking up until DX are done with them. That's the big program for when Hunter comes back. Wow, sure is great having a discussion with you. THe way you just announce speculations as truths, what, you can predict the future? The two can still have a match at mania to let out steam.Or even make the wjhole thing a hoax and take out HBK and Cena or something like that. I'm stating an opinion. No need to get upset because you're taking it personally. If they have match to 'let out steam', which they could do, that would not be breaking them up, which is what you're Loser Leaves Town match would entail. They'll break Team RKO up at some point down the road, but it won't be before DX get their revenge. Hunter coming back to get revenge on Team RKO is his big return program. They won't do anything to stop that from taking place, if only because it's Hunter's program, but also because it'll draw. And that leaves Edge and Orton to do excatly what for Wrestlemania? I have no idea right now, but I heard Meltzer on The LAW a couple of weeks ago say the plan was for them to work a match he described as "below them", and it sounded like the company aren't keen on doing that to them but it's the best they can do without splitting them up.
