I watched all three matches pretty much back-to-back-to-back, while reviewing a selection of bad matches, and I'd have to agree that UT/Hogan is the worst of the bunch. It combined Hogan's weak offense with UT's terrible selling.

HHH/UT was BY FAR worse than Austin/UT. Austin/UT was just incredibly boring, but HHH/UT was in another universe of boring and terrible.

Most undeserving champions
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in General Wrestling
Why? By that logic, every wrestler in WWE or TNA should get a title at some point. I didn't say every wrestler deserves the WWE title. And yes, I'm including independent titles. You haven't said why every wrestler deserves a title at some point. A wrestler should, ideally, 'deserve' a title for one reason; because it would be good for business. And not every wrestler is going to fit that criteria. -
Axl and Balls were going to be brought in last year after ONS to be an undercard tag team to replace the Dudleys. Axl blew that chance, one he should have been thankful to get, when he showed up at the arena in 'no condition to perform'. It's not like this is something that should have surprised anybody who knows about Axl and his past.

If the undeserving champion only has a transitional reign, then it's not as bad as it would be if the reign was of any real length. Too long of an undeserving champion holding a title makes that title mean less, which is a bad idea when the title in question is meant to be your world title.

Major TNA Impact spoiler from PWInsider
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Downhome's topic in TNA Wrestling
They threw away around $7m with that move. As for Joe winning the NWA Title, what would mean more? Him winning it at TNA's top PPV, or winning it at a secondary PPV? There is nothing wrong with different ideas. But those ideas have to make more sense and have more meaning than current ones. Joe winning the NWA Title at a non-BFG PPV just to be different would be terrible, when it would make more sense and mean so much more to have him win the NWA Title at Bound For Glory. -

He's not 'arguing backwards'. He's just pointing out the flaws in your argument. BFG is TNA's version of Wrestlemania, and it makes perfect sense to have the main event be Joe taking his place atop TNA. If that's too obvious for you, well, too bad, because Joe's crowning as NWA Champion really should take place at TNA's top event. -
WWE Cancels 7/4/06 ECW TV @ ECW Arena
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
It's actually a true story. The generator gave out literally seconds after the PPV ended. -
The 7/4 show in Philadelphia was moved from the ECW Arena to the Wachovia Center, so they are going to run two straight nights in the same building, according to the latest reports. That decision seems strange on the surface. Da Meltz

Major TNA Impact spoiler from PWInsider
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Downhome's topic in TNA Wrestling
The key is making it clear, before and after, that Joe really will be the top star of the company. Joe can't win the belt and then feud with Jeff for a year because Jarrett as a top guy, even against Joe, won't draw or mean anything. Joe has to win the belt and, if he beats Jeff for the belt, move Jeff down the card and put other people in the main event scene for a year or so. -

It's because we are sick of him that people hate (and not in the good way, Jarrett marks) Jarrett being back on top. Jarrett being the top guy is played out to death. If Jeff getting the belt back is just to transition it to someone else, then it won't be so bad. But any kind of lengthy reign is two steps backwards for TNA.

Joe challenging for the NWA Title and winning it is something the people want to see, and, more importantly, will pay to see, whether it's obvious or not. -
Bare assed midgets mooning people? That'll draw some PPV buys(!) And so will having the babyfaces get their revenge for free two weeks in a row.

Not really. When he wrote that part of the Observer, the booking was going to stay the same. Now, however, the plan, has it does so often, has changed.

WWE to return to Madison Square Garden

It's a good thing we know Vince won't do anything to exploit that. -
And what a surprise that the top angle continues to revolve around Triple J.

ROH 6.17.06-Farewell to the New Yorker
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
--ROH just announced Samoa Joe vs. Bryan Danielson for the ROH title on 8/5 in Edison, NJ, as well as Danielson vs. Jimmy Jacobs vs. B.J. Whitmer in a three-way on 6/23 in Detroit. (thanks to Shaady Tadros) -
WWE announced its return to Madison Square Garden for the Raw shoot on 9/11, which will mark 17 months since the prior show at the building. Da Meltz This will lead to a morale boost internally, as Vince places a lot of stock in what happens at MSG and WWE not running their for so long had to have hit him hard.
