  1. The WCW Title lineage belongs to the WWE Title.
  2. Doesn't mean they'll pick up professional wrestling any faster. If they can't do that, then all that amateur talent won't mean a thing.
  3. It's hard to be sure when the guy can tear muscles at any moment. As far as ending Undertaker's streak, if he physically still able to go, I think the biggest way to end it would be for him to drop the WWE Title to someone at Wrestlemania XXIII. That way, you'll be getting the biggest possible bang out of it.
  4. Which has very little to do with 'WWE Style', where that level of realism counts for nothing. What you learn in amateur wrestling has nothing to do with being able to pick up professional wrestling. It might help in terms of being able to do more on the mat, but it won't help you pick it up if you don't have the mind for it, no matter how good you are. Not if the guy on the streets as a better mind for wrestling than the amateur guy. The amateur ability means nothing if the mind can't make use of it when transitioning to the professional side.
  5. Not really. Amateur wrestling is nothing like professional wrestling. Being a good amateur wrestler might make you better at being able to do matwork, but it doesn't help you learn how you got to the mat and why you're doing what you're doing when you get there. You can take the best amateur wrestler in the world and make them a pro, but if they don't have a mind for professional wrestling, then all that ability means nothing, now matter how good they are.
  6. Russo said he is not in the wrestling business. He's in the 'God business'. He's still full of shit.
  7. His latest spin on putting the WCW title on Tank Abott is that the battle royal that decided the title match would see Sid last 30-minutes, putting people out left and right, and the last guy to come in would be Tank who would punch Sid once and Sid would get eliminated. Russo also denies he is back in the wrestling business.
  8. Maybe in laying the foundation of the Vince/Bret alliance, he could put Owen in there instead of Undertaker or Kane, with the idea that he only wants Bret as champion, and that in return for making sure Bret stays champion, Owen gets an IC title shot. If you want Mike Tyson in, keep him in the role he had in real life, but have him stay with Bret under the guise of wanting to turn a new leaf, but he turns on Bret and Vince because he's a rebel at heart just like Austin.
  9. He tries to join with Vince and Bret, but they reject him because he's too weird. Austin doesn't want him, and Shawn and Hunter laugh him off, so he could try and appeal to Undertaker and Kane because he is as psychotic as they are. Maybe put that trio together as a psychotic and devilish unit. Alternate between one of them going after Austin with the other two going after the tag titles.
  10. How about this: Bret beats Shawn at Survivor Series Bret beats Undertaker at the December PPV after Shawn interferes Bret beats Kane at the Rumble when Shawn interferes again. Austin wins the Rumble, eliminating Shawn. Bret faces Undertaker, Kane and Shawn Michaels in a four-way at the February PPV (and maybe making it a tradition for the February PPV to have a four-way main event) pinning Kane after Shawn superkicks Kane. On the undercard, Austin pins Hunter. Austin beats Bret for the WWF Title at WM XIV. Shawn pins Kane on the undercard after cheating and hitting the superkick Bret and Vince join forces to get the WWF Title off of Austin because Austin is not proper championship material as he’s too uncouth but Bret is the classy champion that Vince wants as the face of his company. Shawn is still after a singles match for the title. Kane and Undertaker want title shots against Austin because they feel Shawn cheated them out of a fair title match. Austin has no problems against facing Shawn. Undertaker or Kane once they earn a shot, because he doesn’t care who he faces, and he’s also got Bret and Vince, along with Owen thrown into the mix, to fend off. That gives Austin PPV main events against Shawn, Bret in a rematch, Undertaker and Kane, as well as a Raw main event against Owen. Not only that, they could go with Bret and Owen against Austin a three-way, like they did with Kane and Undertaker in real life. They could have Bret and Owen win the tag titles to set up their three-way match with Austin, with the backing of Vince who wants the classy champion to be the face of his company. Shawn and Hunter can be the punks who want the WWF Title and can be put with Kane and Undertaker in a program.
  11. Andre had almost no hand speed when it came to striking. At best, he'd have been able to push Maeda off for a few minutes, but he'd still gas out quickly. His only other chance would have been to hold Maeda and not let go, but Maeda would have been constantly trying to get out and Andre would have gassed out doing that a lot faster than Maeda.
  12. Mic Work: Daniels sounds intelligent, articulate and confident. He sounds like he knows where he’s going with each promo, he doesn’t waver, he’s crisp and clear, and you can understand everything he says. Angle sounds like a guy trying to pretend he’s Kurt Angle. His voice sounds so ragged and raspy, and he sounds like he’s trying way too hard to be something he isn’t. When you’ve got a guy doing that it kills the promo because when he knows he’s trying to be something he isn’t, it makes it hard for him to believe in what he’s saying, and that makes it far less likely that the fans will believe it as well. Charisma: I’d put them even. Daniels hasn’t got that superstar charisma just yet, and while Angle might have had it a few years ago he’s long since lost it. For presence, I think they both come across as serious and decisive, but Daniels gets the edge on that one because TNA fans take Daniels seriously, know he’s talented and accept that fact. WWE fans haven’t taken Angle seriously in a few years thanks to terrible booking and pointless comedy. They might know Angle is talented, but they’ve been educated not to care because Angle isn’t booked correctly in correlation to that talent. Ring Work: Daniels is better when it comes to doing things in the air, while Angle is better at doing stuff on the ground. That’s not to say Angle is great on the ground, which may be down to never being able to show it, but Angle has the ground edge over Daniels. For brawling, I think they’re equal. Neither man is going to win awards for their brawling, but both men are good enough at it that they can hold their end in a decent brawl. For bumps, Daniels wins out over Angle, but that’s because Angle is so broken down. Angle was a great bump taker in his physical peak, but that’s long since passed, and with Angle in the shape he’s in now, he doesn’t bump so much, and he shouldn’t for the sake of his body. Daniels might be that banged up too if he doesn’t slow down, but right now, Daniels bumps better. Psychology: Daniels wins here too. I think this is another area where Angle gets hurt a lot by being hurt. A lot of Angle’s better matches involved things, little and big, that he just cannot do anymore because he’s so beat up. He can still go when need be, but he can’t go as often and as big as he used to. Daniels still can, and that, along with having the mind to make the best use of his relatively wrestling healthy body, puts Daniels ahead of Angle in my book. And, as I said earlier, if you define a worker as a guy who puts asses in seats, I find Daniels better than Angle, because Daniels puts my ass in a seat and Angle doesn’t.
  13. Bobby Heenan once said that a worker is someone who puts asses in seats. Going by that, Daniels is better than Angle for me. I'll watch any Daniels match that I can, but I have no desire to tune in a Kurt Angle match. That isn't to say I'd turn off a Kurt Angle match, but I won't tune in to a show to specifically see an Angle match. I would do that for Daniels, so he gets my vote.
  14. I don't think he was drunk, but it wouldn't have made any difference. Andre's toughness was more myth than reality.
  15. But you are forgetting one thing. WWE is pretty much useless for carrying things out in the long term, so about the best we can hope for is the big dream match. I know WWE are hopeless when it comes to long term planning. So, if this match happens, I fully expect Undertaker to beat Batsita, expose him in the process, and kill off what remains of Batista's tough guy aura.
  16. Maeda was a prick and a lot of people in New Japan wanted to embarrass him so a number of them went to Andre and talked him into not cooperating with Maeda with the idea that Andre would humiliate Maeda and show him up. Sadly, the failed to realize that Andre was a total slug, had no mobility and was nowhere near as tough as his myth suggested, and Maeda pretty much humiliated Andre instead. With Andre down, Maeda looked to his corner for the ‘signal’ but it never came so he backed off. In the end, Inoki ran in to stop the whole mess. Even though this was on tape, it didn’t stop a lot of people from ignoring it and holding onto the myth of Andre being some super tough guy, despite getting shown up for the whole world to see.
  17. It'd keep Joe as the kingpin of the X-Division. They want to rematch the Unbreakable three-way at a future PPV, so I'd use that to have Daniels beat Styles for the belt so Joe loses it but does not get beaten himself. That way, they can extend Joe's unbeaten streak because he'll need to beat a bunch of people to get his title back from Daniels. As for what do with Jarrett, I'd like to do anything that keeps him out of the world title picture, but he's got a death grip on the belt, in that it'll be the death of TNA for him to never let go of it, so you're fucked in that regard. Best thing to do is some sort of storyline that involves as many potential breakout stars as possible and hope like hell that Jarrett doesn’t kill them off and one of them gets over enough that TNA has no choice but to push them ahead of Jarrett. But that last part isn’t happening with Jarrett making the final call on everything now.
  18. Critical Hit. Thanks to my Sword Of Mod, which is +5, TPI is stunned for seven days.
  19. Batista against Undertaker at Wrestlemania is an idea with a lot of short-term gain but with just as much long-term liability. In the short-term, you’d have the monster champion who has had the title for a year against the legend who has never lost at Wrestlemania. With around three months of build, assuming it gets set in motion with Undertaker winning the Rumble, then you would have a match that, on it’s own as intrigue, but would then get the boost from slowly building hype that would really kick in gear the month or so before Wrestlemania. In the long-term, you’d have one of two things. You could have Undertaker’s winning streak ended by a near 40-year old man who is working injured as we speak and could really do a number on his body because of that, has a history of muscle tears that could flare up at any moment, especially with his current mentality, and is absolutely not the guy who WWE can build a brand around in the long-term, because he is so old, injury prone and is not doing his body any favors by working when he should be resting up. On the other side, you’d have your monster babyface champion get beaten by a 43-year old who is broken down, doesn’t work a full schedule, hates to sell, hates to job, and has damaged more hot wrestlers than he’s helped. Neither of those prospects is a good one when you’re looking at things long-term. Sure, you’d probably get a heated WM match that would add some buys, though maybe not a whole lot, but looking at business long-term, it’s not worth it, because you’ll either end up with Undertaker’s legendary winning streak ended by someone who they can’t use as a long-term headliner, which is really what you want out of the ending of the streak, or you’ll have the monster babyface get beaten by guy who, realistically, shouldn’t be beating guys who have been pushed for over a year as a bad ass monster
  20. It was another one of Vince Russo’s pathetic attempts at a worked shoot, that not only failed miserably, as does everything he tries, but pretty well turned off the casual PPV buyers. It was partially meant to play off of Hogan’s rep for being uncooperative; they even had Gene Okerlund ask Hogan about ‘internet talk’ on a Nitro leading up to the PPV, and Hogan acted like Okerlund wasn’t meant to ask about that and briefly said something about it before walking off. On the way out of the building that night he ‘just happened’ to bump into Bulbous Bob Ryder and gave an on-line interview where he acted like the whole thing was a shoot and he might not even show up at Halloween Havoc. At the PPV, the whole deal went down as you saw it, and they immediately went to a video package for the Goldberg vs. Sid match to try and make it seem like what happened wasn’t meant to happen. The other reason for the angle was that Hogan’s already waning drawing power was slipping even further, and Hogan wanted to do what he always does when this happens, which is take a vacation, wait for ratings to drop even more, and then come back after a few months to get a big crowd pop and when his return spikes the ratings for that one night claim that he’s causing a turnaround in business and then use that to get even more power. This also led to the worst singles title tournament of modern times, where almost every match was bad and also had interference, showing, as if there was any doubt, that Vince Russo couldn't book a fart at Taco Bell, let alone a title tournament.
  21. The only person who should get a long run with the title should be the guy they are trying to build around. That person is not Sting. It's also not Jeff Jarrett, but it looks like we're stuck with him.
  22. I never said it was a good joke.
  23. I think he was joking. At least, I hope he was.
  24. Jeff's doing the same thing Dusty did as well; having two hot women fight over him.
  25. Let us all remember that is part of their brilliant plan to give Orton enough heat to be one of their top heels.
