  1. According to Alvarez, Stephanie was apparently the one who made the final call for the Eddie Guerrero exploitation angle on the Smackdown special. She felt it would be a great cliffhanger and would help the ratings. In addition to that, a lot of wrestlers are not only mad at the company with the angle, but at the wrestlers who took part in it. And finally, morale backstage is said to have reached an all-time low since the special
  2. If Webber was able to incorporate some of older board features then it would be close to perfect.
  3. It really is an excellent piece of work. Dave has said that it's only about 95% of what he wanted to do, but he was so backed up with news that he had to go with what he had. Not that it's a complaint, because even though the piece is 95% of what he wanted it to be, it's still great.
  4. I think Tim Cooke was serious about the first post, but then the DVD board showed its usual level of intelligence and it went downhill from there.
  5. You're reading it wrong. That was not the plan at all. Kevin Sullivan, who was the booker, was talking with Heyman, and Heyman laid out the program where Giant would defend against Benoit and Benoit would win by countering a chokeslam into the crossface. Benoit would then lose the belt to Gurrero, but not before injuring Guerrero with the crossface. Giant would then quickly get the belt back from Guerrero by taking advantage of the injury. It never happend, and was never the plan, because Sullivan wasn't keen on the idea and Bischoff felt Benoit and Guerrero were too small.
  6. UFC isn't even in the same field as WWE but Vince still tried to steal their lead announcer wheh they went head-to-head. If TNA went head-to-head with WWE, Vince would go all-out to kill them dead. That's why it would be suicide.
  7. Some people are trying way too hard to look smart. I'm not that high on Angle, and I'm no fan of Michaels, but they aren't bad wrestlers. Just highly overrated ones.
  8. And then some.
  9. Pointing out the legit weaknesses of a babyface is a terrrible idea. The people already think Shelton is a loser. They don't need that confirmed.
  10. That's what happens when guys are allowed to say what they feel rather than having their words written by somebody who couldn't get a job writing for a real show.
  11. It looks like a loaded SD but with a PPV gimmick match added. This one isn't doing much over 200,000.
  12. Does that look a PPV card anyone would buy?
  13. Their catchphrase can be "You just got played".
  14. Barry Windham. About a year. Tried to teach Taka Michinoku to smoke and drink. Had a shitty match on PPV against Vader.
  15. To me, Don West is great because he gets me excited about the product. He cares so much that he makes me care, even if I don't want to.
  16. And I don't think he wants to know what's going on. He made it clear he doesn't come up with any lines beforehand, because he wants what he does to be genuine. Don West is really great at his job.
  17. He strikes me as one of the most genuine people in wrestling.
  18. Did anyone else listen to Don West on LAW? You cannot hate this man. Don West > anyone else as color guy.
  19. When has Hunter shown this great mind for business, outside of making sure he stays on top and nobody else gets to his level? The Orton-Hunter deal that flopped last year? Hunter's baby.
  20. What they need to do with Boogeyman is something Bryan Alvarez suggested. Keep him in the cupboard, bring him out at a major PPV for a squash match, then put him back in the cupboard until the next major PPV when he does another squash match, and then the cycle starts again.
  21. Don West is going to be on the LAW tonight.
  22. You know the answer to that one.
  23. Someone asked what BFG did, and Meltzer said it did around 35,000 buys.
  24. What makes this one so cool is that Irvin hits the knee, glances at Martin, and then casually walks off.
  25. That's just complete insanity. I'm not a fan of Superman but even I think all those insane changes they wanted to make were complete bullshit. I'm amazed the film ever got made.
