  1. Even if you did bring Sable back, or Sunny in her prime for that matter, they wouldn't get over a whole lot, because there are so many faceless nameless women on TV already. One hot woman stands out, a million of them, and they all blend in together, and none of them stand out from the rest.
  2. There is a difference between getting people to hate you, and getting people to pay to hate you.
  3. They probably booked that finish for the same reason that WCW put Benoit over Sid for their World title, even after Benoit made it clear he was leaving. They assumed that by giving the guy the win, they'd be placating him enough that he'd change his mind.
  4. Prefer to be given only finish and call everything else in the ring ? Lay the entire match out beforehand ? If possible, I’d prefer to call everything in the ring. If a big spot is required for the continuation of a storyline, then I’d be ok with laying that out beforehand. Other than that, I’d want to call it all in the ring. Like to have your promo's scripted ? Or just be given a couple of bullet points, and wing the rest ? Just give me a few bullet points, if needed, and I’ll wing the rest. It’s more natural if it seems like you’re speaking as yourself, and not reading from a script you’ve memorized. Blade often ? Only on occasion ? Would you rather never blade at all ? I’d rather only blade on rare occasions, so that when I do, I could bleed profusely, ala Eddie Guerrero at Judgement Day this year. If I’m going to blade, then I want to be able to bleed buckets, and that would mean a lot more if I were someone who almost never bleeds. What style would you like to wrestle ? Why would you prefer to employ that particular style over others ? I’d wrestle a technical style, something like Ricky Steamboat. I’d infrequently go to the top rope, and even then it would only be something as complicated as a high crossbody or a karate chop. Refuse to take certain moves ? Only take them when working with certain wrestlers ? I would refuse to take something like a burning hammer or a ganso bomb, or anything where I’m dropped vertically down on my head. In the case of DDT or piledriver like moves, I’d make sure I took the bump in such a manner that I’m not coming straight down. No RVD-like head bumps for me. Are there any match types you'd like to wrestle in a lot ? Some match types you'd rather never have to work in ? I’d like to wrestle in Iron Man or 2/3 falls matches. Something where the nature of the match means you’re looking at a 25 minute affair, at least. I would refuse to wrestle a scaffold match, especially if they even hint at me taking a bump off of there. What style of normal match would you like to do the most ? Would you prefer to sell or to dominate ? Would you like to do long matches ? I’d like to wrestle a nice even match, with plenty of back and forth action. I’d prefer to sell mostly, but I would want to make sure I get in enough offence to where I’m not seen as inferior. I’d much prefer long matches, in the 25-30 minute range at least Would you like to have a manager or valet to work spots with, or would you rather just do it all yourself ? If I were a heel, I’d prefer to have someone at ringside with me, because then I can work a lot more heel spots then. Are there some types of angles that you would refuse to do ? Some types of angles that you'd love to do ? I’d refuse to do anything overtly sexual, no affair angles, etc. If I was in a relationship with a woman in real life, I’d point blank refuse to do any kind of angle that saw us break up, or saw one of us cheat on the other. I’d also refuse to do anything racial. Angles I’d love to do would be the kind where I’m playing off of someone whose character is the exact opposite of mine, or something where a friend and I are both going for a title, and we’re trying not to let that get in the way of our friendship, and one of us could play the subtle heel. What promotion would you like to work for the most ? What promotion would you hate to work for ? In America, I’d prefer to work for ROH, and would hate working in WWE, and I’d only ever go there if I literally had no other choice. For Japan, I’d prefer New Japan. Any wrestlers today that you'd like to work against ? Any you would avoid working against at all costs ? I’d like to work against Kenta Kobashi, though I’d like to avoid taking any head drops if possible. I’d like to work 60 minute matches with Osamu Nishimura or Yuji Nagata. I’d like to work with most of the New Japan roster, especially those whose styles are likely to complement mine. For America, I’d like to work with CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness, or anyone else who wrestles a technical style. The WWE guys I’d care to wrestle would be Benoit, Jericho, Guerrero Angle, Regal and Benjamin. Everyone else, I’d pass on. What wrestlers from the past would you like to work against ? What wrestlers from the past would you not want to work against ? I’d like to have worked a program with Ricky Steamboat that would see a series of time limit draws, first 20 minutes, then 30, then 45, then 60, before finally culminating in matches with 90 minute time limits, with both of us exchanging wins, with matches going 70 minutes or so. If possible, I’d like to see it run as a house show program, with the 20 minute draws running the loop, then the 30 minute draws, and so on. If I had the right tag team partner, I’d like to have worked a program with both versions of the Midnight Express managed by Cornette, as well as The Rock and Roll Express.
  5. Vince definitely has held, and still holds, grudges against people. If he thinks he can make money with that person, he'll happily put the grudge to one side. Of course, once he's made all the money off of that person he can, he'll get his digs in for sure.
  6. I presume it never happened because of the mindset that fans wouldn't be interested in such a long match.
  7. The SD6 payoff, or at least the climax of it, was going to be a 60:00 minute match involving all three teams. Not sure whether it was going to be an Iron Team match of some sort, or just a three-way 60:00 draw, but that was the match it was eventually going to build to.
  8. He used it at Armageddon as well. Best guess is that they're laying the foundations for a match with Lesnar if/when he returns, and the fact they are beginning to hint at it suggests that they are fairly sure Lesnar is returning soon.
  9. It's nice how almost everybody who gets banned from anywhere never seem to think they did anything wrong. And if he hadn't earned his way into the Whiny Bitches before, he sure did in this thread.
  10. Does Eugene count ?
  11. They are really missing the boat on Funaki. Maybe it's just me, but I really think he could be a big hit with the younger fans. He's small enough that the young fans can better relate to him because he looks about their size. He's almost childlike, in that he seems completely uncomplicated, and, again, something they can relate to. Add to that the loveable underdog vibe that he exudes in spades, and you've got someone that I think really could be a hit with the younger fans.
  12. Instead of lots of complaining and moaning about someone else's selections, how about providing some of your own ? You know, since that is the point of the thread after all. As for matches I'd recommend seeing, I'd go with Cobra v Black Tiger, from MSG in January 1984. It's on the undercard of Hogan beating the Iron Sheik. It gets overlooked a lot, which is criminal. It's got some really great wrestling, a few hot aerial moves, which the crowd pop for, commentators putting both men over, and a clean finish.
  13. For Reigns and Jindrak to get anywhere near 'over', they're going to have to get some sort of personality. Right now, they're just a pair of generic looking tall guys with good bodies, who follow Kurt Angle around. They have no distinctive personality or persona at all, and there is nothing about them whatsoever that makes them leap off the screen.

  15. If they were all smart fans well aware of the news, a lot more people would have been making that chant to begin with. The fact that it started out small, and then grew big is a pretty good indication that the bulk of those chanting were just joining in. Why not ? Why don’t you think that smart fans make up such a tiny percentage of WWE’s audience ? Because the product, as a whole, just isn’t anywhere near as good as it used to be. If you want to get smart fans, or any fans back, you have to put on a quality product. However, you shouldn’t focus a whole lot on doing something specifically aimed at smart fans, or craft an angle designed purely for smart fans, because the audience you might get back just isn’t worth the time and effort. It’s a whole lot better to come up with an angle designed for a wrestling fan, because, at heart, that is what everyone is, be they casual or smart, and the dividends are very likely to be that much greater. A minor angle aimed at a niche segment of your audience is fine every once in a while, but it is foolish to pull something major aimed at said niche segment, because you’re trying to pull in a very small segment of your audience, who will likely tune in anyway. As I stated above, a minor angle aimed at a small section of your audience is fine once in a while, but it’s stupid to do something major for that same small niche, because the rewards just aren’t worth it. And instead of looking at the audience as casual fans, smart fans, smark fans or whatever, try looking at them as wrestling fans. Regardless of their level of inside knowledge, or ‘smartness’, they are still wrestling fans at heart, and they all want to be wrestling fans. Treating them as such, and giving them what they want, would go a long way to turning things around. You know what will generate interest among ‘smart’ fans ? Not trying to make them guess if something is a shoot or not, which is pointless and serves no real purpose, but putting on a good wrestling product. Not an SE product, but a wrestling product. And no, I’m not talking about wall-to-wall wrestling, as those who like to attack the ‘IWC’ in general without any real foundation to their argument like to keep insisting is all they want. I’m talking letting the wrestlers wrestle, and letting them be themselves, and keeping the convoluted SE bullshit out if it.
  16. That's what happens when you let guys wrestle balls to the wall.
  17. Well, that's what you get when you can't work 'main event style'.
  18. Danny Basham.
  19. If you're talking in terms of purely aerial moves, then the best of those are in Dragon's Gate, formerly known as T2P. Those guys do some sweet high flying moves, as well as some wacky submission holds. If you're talking about the smaller wrestlers who are overall the most talented, then New Japan guys like Liger, Kanemoto, Gedo and Jado (purely for their heel tactics), as well as the latest crop of New Japan rookies, are the ones I think you should watch.
  20. Less of the pissing contest, more of the educating the guy who wants to learn.
  21. I'm a fair bit behind on OVW, but I've watched their TV up until around April of this year. One of the most underrated matches all year in 2002 was a Kanyon v Damaja TV match in the summer. This match was ****1/2 easy, and blew away almost everything in WWE that year. It was excellent stuff, with great near falls, the crowd going crazy, top-notch commentary; it had the whole ball of wax. For 2003, the best episodes were the ones with the Dinsmore v Machine 2/3 falls match, that is one of the best matches of the year, and the episode built around the Damaja v Doug Basham Loser Leaves Town match. If you watch those matches, or any of their matches or mic work in OVW, you'll see just how neutered the WWE versions of both guys are. The same can be said of Nick Dinsmore. His talents are being wasted with the Eugene gimmick, and while not as good on the mic as Damaja or Basham, he's better wrestler.
  22. That was Masato Yakushuji, and he retired a few years ago because of injuries.
  23. He wrestled Booker T on Raw in Tacoma, in a match so bad that it caused Vince to change the course of the whole Invasion angle.
  24. Bomb might be too strong a word, but because it missed projections by such a big margin, Snipes, and he's not the only one, sees it as too much of a failiure, and doesn't want to be associated with it anymore.
  25. He's realised that the movie is going to be a huge bomb, and he doesn't want to be associated with such a failiure.
