  1. I presume this is taken from the most recent Observer: Not only is Misawa going to ROH but defending the GHC title as well. He'll probably be facing Nigel McGuinness, as he's the most high profile heavyweight ROH guy who wrestles in NOAH.
  2. A few short matches are nice to get over the idea that a match can end at any time, but couldn't at least one match have gone longer than thirteen minutes? And it looks like we're set for at least one screwjob per day.
  3. Not sure where it came from, or the validity, but Apparently, TNA partnered with YouTube without the permission of SpikeTV, which is owned by Viacom. Either way, it's right out of WCW. TNA haven't done anything of value with the X Division for well over a year, so it's no surprise. What happens with the smaller wrestlers now? Watch Kurt pick his wife to be his tag team partner. Nothing will come of this. The bigger names will find some way to miss the tests, and if anyone of status fails TNA will probably find a way to not have to do anything. Dixie's statement shows she's either ignorant, lying, or both.
  4. Full results from the opening night of the G1: I'm not liking the screwjob finishes. We'll probably see a lot more of them in the rest of the tournament.
  5. A couple of notes from Meltzer's latest appearance on Figure Four Daily: --The real Raw rating is likely going to be somewhere between a 2.8 and a 3.1 --One idea talked about, a lot, in relation to the ‘reset’ is having just one brand
  6. Is that the T-Zone data? I know that in the new T-Zone data RVD dies from a Drugs Overdose pretty quickly and so does Kurt Angle. I converted and edited the final Ravex(?) data for the last TEW game. Steiner and Pena did not surprise me, but the other two did. RVD is alive and well, as is Kurt. RVD is on a per-appearance deal with WWE and is soon going on tour with All Japan. Van Dam is 12-12-2 in WWE. Kurt left WWE a few months into the game and signed with New Japan to tour with them. Kurt was 2-9 in WWE and is currently 11-19-1 in New Japan.
  7. Wrestling didn't start 2007 well in my game, with Scott Steiner, Antonio Pena, Reno Riggins and Pat Anderson all dying of drugs overdoses on the first day of the year. One person dying is nothing strange, but four on the same day, and all of drugs?
  8. I think the odds of him starting a promotion are about 59 to 1.
  9. Low Ki is one more screw up away from being fired. He's been late three times, with the most recent incident getting him suspended for one month. I've got a replacement lined up for his spot, so hopefully that will work out and when Ki comes back he can stay in lower half of the card until I feel able to bring him back up or until his contract runs out.
  10. Why would such an issue affect only one network?
  11. Some weird deal on the ROH boards, with someone apparently getting personal with Gabe Sapolsky and his wife and uploading pictures of them to a blog, that has now been closed. Gabe posted about it on their board, swearing it's real and that it has 'crossed the line'. Of course, he conveniently happens to leave the thread open so as to let people talk about it.
  12. One obvious reaction is that this is a work and is part of the '161' thing that's playing out on the ROH message board. If it is a work, it's the second time they've 'fired' Rave, with the first one being done to set up his joining of The Embassy.
  13. Interesting, given that's not really what they did. They had an in-depth discussion of the Benoit tragedy and why Simmons stopped watching and why he felt other fans had to. But Meltzer is the suck though! One man's burial is everybody else's fair appraisal of the facts.
  14. Maybe the 2.5 has opened up Vince's mind a little.
  15. Spoilers, 'blurbs' and so forth were around when the ratings were sky high. If people are going to be turned off, it'll be because of the product at the time; they'll know they'll probably get something they don't want to see and won't tune in to see it. They don't need blurbs to tell them that.
  16. Whats the deal with the championship belt he holds over his shoulder in the backstage interviews? Is he the All Asian Gaijin Summer Tour tag champion or what? Co-holder of the IWGP tag titles.
  17. I think he'll make a slight reference to it and then they'll ignore it ever happened.
  18. I'll say 3.2 overall with Vince getting the peak of a 3.9-4.2.
  19. Ron Simmons beats Vader for the WCW title The crowd reaction to the win is what wrestling is meant to be about.
  20. TNA Remix Episode 1 TNA Remix Episode 2 "Perfect Strangers vs. Impact
  21. A storyline that's never been done is meaningless if fans don't care about the people involved. You can come up with the most creative and imaginative storyline that's never been done before, but unless the fans care about the people you put in that storyline, all that originally will be for nothing.
  22. They don't need a storyline that's never been attempted before, because the classics still work and will always work. The problem is the people they put in the storylines. There's nobody that everyone wants to get behind to see succeed or to rally against and see get beaten.
  23. Most of the suspensions and such from the wellness policy have been kept quiet since they revised it. Not only that, a 30-day suspension is the punishment for a wrestlers first failing the policy, or at least was since they could have changed that; the wellness policy itself is now MIA from their website and it's unknown what changes they've made to it. Yes, it's possible that Hardy really was suspended for being immature, but it's far more likely it's a drug or painkiller issue.
  24. While it can be inferred from 'immature behavior' that Jeff possibly did something crass or went too far with something, that he's suspended for 30 days could indicated it's WELLNESS~ related because that used to be the initial punishment for violating it. Of course, it's probably changed given that WWE removed the policy from their website a few weeks ago and the punishments could have been changed.
