    New Jack at Raw

Not sure if they ever did it in a singles contest, but the Dreamer/Jack "real wrestling" sequence took place during a 4 corners tag match in ECW in '97-'98. I believe the teams were Jack/Kronus, Dreamer/Sandman, Van Dam/Sabu, and I think The Dudleys. I have this on tape somewhere, try to find it tonight. Styles even commented during the match "I'll be damned, he can wrestle!"

That song is so hot right now.

    The Triple H Celebration Thread

Triple H winning tonight did make sense, because any of the three that I feel all deserve the title at this point (Batista, Orton, Edge) shouldn't be transitional champs. That said, I'm betting by tomorrow morning this is a Hardcore Discussoin thread.

Tell me I didn't see that....

Like Laz said, Northcutt was the more impressive of the two, but Wilson has Hogan's backing (to the point where Wilson has debuted in Japan using the Mr. America gimmick with Hulk's blessing). Originally the role of Titus was to be a bodyguard/enforcer for Johnny Fairplay. My guess is this would lead to him taking the "heel hoss" spot left open by Abyss.

    FEEDBACK FOR THE 1/06 HD

The Hoff written ending was insane. Even I didn't know the full details behind it, just that he wanted to come back and pick up on the story. Kudos to a job well done. Oh, and watch your back, bitch!

    Carlito's petition

Steamboat wouldn't be a good GM choice. One of my all time favorites and a tremendous worker, but to cut promo's and be in constant backstage skits? No way.

    The O.C.

I hated the fact Jimmy had to leave (rumors of problems with him on the set are recalled, pretty sure they were mentioned in this thread), but honestly the character really had nowhere else to go right now. At least they've kept the door open for reappearances. I do like how Kirsten is suddenly burdened with so much, because a "crash and burn" story with her being overwhelmed by all this drama in her life would be a nice change of pace from her "put your happy face on" style. Fucking DJ, I hate that kid. Drunk Seth RULED. Adam Brody steals scenes as it is, but holy shit I was dying last night. I don't mind Zach, but I hope they don't overuse the whole Seth/Zach/Summer mixups/breakups before the inevitable conclusion to it.

    Abyss to WWE?!

My guess is he'll be brought in to take over the masked heel role they wanted Matt Morgan in (which is why he started working a mask angle down in OVW).

    Worst Decisions?

If they carried out the whole Invasion right, a huge crossover could have been done with WWF, WCW, ECW, AND the NWO. Hogan, Hall and Nash could have come in claiming that they were responsible for WCW's success, and wanted in. WCW could have refused and said no, so NWO tries to sell their services to WWF, who know their game and want nothing to do with them. Same deal with ECW, who know the NWO will only want spotlight for themselves. Then you could have the NWO managing a few acquisitions from the three opposing sides to gain a litle more interest, until they built things to come to a head. In no way would I have signed Hogan, Hall and Nash to three year deals or whatever, but for 6 month-1 year, if it were in a scenario like I had explained, I'd have lived with it.

    Worst Decisions?

Breaking kayfabe is part of the evolution of the business, and society as a whole. With information on hand 24/7 about anything and anything thanks to things like the internet, it was only a matter of time. Kayfabe can and does exist in some form, but I'd take a more realistic approach to things rather than cartoon characters and car crashes (although those aren't totally gone, and likely never will be).

    Worst Decisions?

Having a developmental territory and not giving two shits about it or what it does for the talent. By this I mean the random callup's of guys not ready, sending guys to learn how to work face only to turn them heel, and not using it to its full potential.

    Carlito's petition

Something tells me Carlito would wind up being the replacement somehow, just to keep him visible until he can return to the ring.

    Meltzer on Batista

Benjamin needs that one breakout match. The one with Christian at SS was damn good, but he needs that "epic encounter". Just something crisp with off the charts heat. If Benoit were to go heel at some point, especially during or after this Chamber match, I'd LOVE Benoit vs. Benjamin at WM, because it could make Shelton. I would not want to see, for example, Monty Brown showing up in WWE as a former gang member who wants Shelton to run with him again. Pushing the story is one thing...exploiting it is another.

    Meltzer on Batista

In response to the last two posts regarding things I've said: 1)Batista would look fucking pimp sporting the belt with a suit and the glasses. He'd be the badass hoss with a Rock look outside the ring. To take a catchphrase from one of my favorite movies, that's soooo money baby. 2)I think they're trying to evolve Benjamin with this whole "wrong side of the tracks" thing they've done vignettes for. I could see them getting behind his inspirational story as he climbs to the top of the mountain.

    Meltzer on Batista

Point taken. PM me your number at your earliest convienience. Honestly though, I'm just at the point where I'll take anything fresh and exciting. This is not to say I'd be doing cartwheels over a rumored Shannon Moore World Title push, but the Batista deal has intrigued me. Even moreso than Orton, whom I do enjoy. I'll be the first to call a spade a spade and say that Orton, if given the chances Dave's been getting, could have had a much better transition into what they wanted out of him. It's just that, if not Batista, then who? Who's really left to catch fire? A case can be made for Benjamin, but he's the only one I could think of off the top of my head.

    Diamond Dallas Page

I don't think he had the belt when he was in the Triad. IIRC, that was during the aborted Sting heel turn/Flair-Hogan union etc. that the title was built around. His two wins would have come at Stampede '99, and during the New Blood era, when he dropped it to Jarrett.

    Diamond Dallas Page

I thought he had an OK look for what he was trying to be. Not every babyface needs to be clean shaven and jacked to the nines. Page was the cigar chomping Jersey boy who put up a fight and wouldn't back down from anyone. Wouldn't look right if he was coming out in shiny new tights and three piece suits.

It'd actually be fun to watch Trips on Smackdown, because with the "loyalists" there (UT, JBL, Angle and himself), they'd all probably wind up killing each other in booking meetings. Of course Triple H on Smackdown means Mysterio getting squashed in 5:00, Triple H feuding with Eddie so that he looks good, and any other up and coming heels being completely overshadowed. It'd be some nice continuity though if Triple H got drafted, bitched to Bischoff and said they could just do what happened last year, and Bischoff (hopefully still in his new tweener mode) could say that it's time for a change on RAW, and good riddance.

Rudo, I do see what you're saying, but my feeling is this. Right now, business is at a low point. I'm not looking towards Big Dave for the turnaround to bring things into an upswing, but just for my enjoyment as a fan, and to see if it catches fire even more. Fan response is dictating that things go a certain way, and if they do, then it could be something great. He may not be the best worker, but I feel he's improved, and could improve more. He doesn't seem to be the kind of guy that wants to coast by. Even still though, while I'm a workrate freak like 99% of the smarks out there, not everyone needs to be a Thesz in the making. Diesel wound up being horrible as champion because (IMO) of the Shawn face turn and the horrible opponents (Sid was over but sucked, Mabel had nothing going for him). Batista has a hot angle to turn him, and could have several that follow. Unless Vince decided on another Viscera push, in which case I'd call you personally to utter the words "You were right".
