This week in the New York Knicks

If anyone is trying to argue that Steve Francis isn't a upgrade over the non playing Penny Hardaway and the non playing Trevor Ariza, they are just trying to shit on Isaiah. With Francis there, it gives him room to move Marbury, or Crawford(preferably Crawford).

I noticed that too. Plus it wasn't even on the News ticker. I would call bullshit on that one.

No he wouldn't have. He would have gotten the token minutes behind Rip Hamilton who plays alot of minutes and commits no fouls. The guy is basically always on the court. And Brown would have play Lindsey Hunter over Wade. Crazy as it sounds, Hunter still would have been Billups backup. Wade would have gotten Mike James minutes. Chris Bosh wouldn't have cracked the Wallace, Wallace, Williamson, Campbell front line. Chris Bosh off the bench would put up similar numbers to what Davis Lee is doing in New York now. He would have been very physical...like Lee, been very good on the boards....like Lee, and would have gotten a bunch of DNP- Coach's decisions like Lee. The pistons had their starters and they had their backups and no rookie was going to crack that. According to alot of the Piston Players, Darko is a very impressive practice player, but that still didn't make Brown put him in the game. Wade or Bosh killing it at practice wouldn't have made him budge either. Any other coach and you MIGHT have a point. But Brown notoriously doesn't play rookies. No matter who the Pistons would have taken, they would have been sitting on the bench until this year at the earliest.

    NBA All-Star Weekend

You know, if josh smith didn't put that tape down, someone might have noticed that he is the first guy to jump from the free throw line and dunk it with two hands. Just going by the physics of it all, if he could dunk with ease from the freethrow line with two hands, he should have been able to come damn close to that line with one hand. I think he took off on the wrong foot and gave up on it. As for the end. Nate actually did different dunks everytime. AI did the same dunk twice. I am sorry, but this goes to Jordon, Spudd and Brent Barry also, I don't think you should get a decent score for doing the same dunk twice in the competition. If you got a 50 the first time, it should be a 40 the second time for doing the same thing.

I like it better, plus it has no bugs besides the exporting the college draft thing so yeah, I would go for it.

Bill Simmons and you are wrong. No player in that draft would have had any impact on the Pistons except Lebron James. If they had taken Chris Bosh, he would have rode the bench in the exact same way and people would have been saying that they wasted that pick. If they had taken Dwayne Wade, he would have been backing up Rip Hamilton, MAYBE, but since his jumpshot wasn't that strong then, he probably would have never gotten playing time. If they had taken Carmelo, he would have been backing up Prince and then would have been in the LB doghouse because of how he plays defense. Lottery picks do not belong on Championship caliber teams like the pistons had. None of the top picks in that are all stars now would have been more than towel swingers in Detroit.

Your gonna have to explain this to me. The controls are all the same (oh and you can't change the control scheme), it plays the same, only they don't say fuck every three seconds. And of course no "painkillers" or brawls. Take out the "Unleash" system in Blitz and they are basically the same game.

WHY? I mean unless you plan on Larry Brown being gone really soon, He has all but said he isn't going to play either of them because he doesn't like their game. Plus he keeps saying that Nate Robinson is never going to be a point guard. If it weren't for the freak show aspect of his game, he would be sitting right besides the other two, but I know Brown knows the fans will have his head if Lil Nate doesn't see the court.

Yeah, that would be awful. You have to dump Crawfords contract if you are going to pick up Francis's. And why are the Knicks so against trading Lee or Ariza when Brown makes it a point to tell them they can't play worth a shit on weekly basis in the media? Get rid of them for christsake.

Anyone played the demo of this yet? It was a timed demo, but what I played was pretty fun. Looks like there's going to be framerate issues on the PS2 version, but hopefully the XBox version will be able to handle it better with so much happening at once. Not completely sold on the demo, but I definitely think it'll be worth a cautious rental to make sure that it's worth the money. Fun. I actually have the game. It is pretty short, but it is incredibly fun. I would suggest it. Buy or rent...not sure. But it is a pretty cool game. I also have Arena Football, which is basically Blitz the League with a wall around the field and no cursing.

I loved it. But this game will seal the deal on them trading Al Harrington. He got into foul trouble and thus allowed more Minutes for the Josh's and they responded with 21-15 for Smith and 20-7 for Childress. Plus Marvin William was able to chip in 12. Josh Smith had 2 HUGE blocks that pretty much sealed that game for them. His shot Blocking is one of the more impressive things I have ever seen. Al Harrington is good as gone now. Royal Ivy just bought himself 4th quarter minutes. Salim Stoudimire is probably one of the best shooters in the league, but his inability to pass or really handle the ball outside of setting up his own shot is going to keep him on the bench. If he was in phoenix or a team with a low post threat, he would be a 20+ point a game scorer. The guy can flat out shoot. The funniest thing last night I noticed was everytime a Laker made a mistake, Kobe would have this "you fucking fuck up" look on his face. Everytime he fucked up he would clap and say lets go really loud and just run down court. That has got to be annoying. Smush Parker missed to free throws and Kobe did that stare at him of disbelief then clapped his hands with the angry face at him. Then he went up and missed two, and I swear you could see a smirk on Parkers face. I personally think they just don't like that dude.
  18. Um the reason its a story is because the Vice President shot a person. It was a big story when Jason Williams shot someone, which he said was a accident in the start, but it was still a big story. If a retired NBA power forward accidentally shooting someone is a big story, then the Vice President of the United States doing it will be. Of course the difference is that it was later found out Jason Williams was playing around with a loaded gun, but it is the point of the press to see if Dick was showing off his ROTC moves and accidentally shot the guy. Vice President being reckless with gun and shooting a guy is a big deal people. I don't think that was the case or that it should be that big of a deal, but it is going to be a big story because that is the nature of things.
  19. I like Jay Lethal but the guy really doesn't know how to play up to the crowd in a bigger venue. He just looks out of place and not like a star. But he is young. He should really work on that before they start giving him titles.

    This week in the NBA

Watching Marvin play(and being suprised that he has such a great jumpshot. I mean really...with consistant three point range) I think he will be very good with alot of minutes. He is a beast on the boards, he is already a pretty good one on one defender, and while he can't create his own shot yet, he is getting there. My problem will always remain that he, Josh Smith and Josh Childress(and All Harrington and Donta Smith) all play the same position. Dumb dumb draft by the Hawks. Now you have a Number two overall pick that can't get minutes because his position is crowded. By the way. Has anyone noticed how anytime Bill Walton does a Mavs game he makes sure to take a shot at the now retired Shawn Bradley for being a "stiff that can't play". What the fuck is that all about. I think deep down inside, Bill knows he is the single most overrated player in the history of the NBA and that if people look, he and Shawn Bradley's numbers aren't that far apart and if it weren't for his rings, he would be nothing more than a redheaded Shawn Bradly.

    24: Season 5

Chase was the most annoying character ever to me. Yes, even more annoying than Kim. Kim was annoying because her subplots were wasting screen time in season 2(she was kinda instrumental in the subplots of season one). Chase got just the right amount of screen time and spent every moment pissing me off to no end. I personally didn't like Curtis at the start, but his breakout from capture made him baddass. Thus he is cool with me. Kinda like the new Daniel Dae Kim of the show. He is just kinda there, but it is kickass that he is there.

Atlanta not drafting Paul when they needed a point guard is still haunting me. All of the local media was saying Bogut or Paul before the draft. Then Marvin Williams played well in the pre draft camps and I got worried and deservingly so. Although, mark my words, Marvin Williams is going to be a great player. Its just the team needed a point guard and passed him by. And I persoanally don't think Paul would have played as well in Utah. Call me crazy, but I think alot of the point guard failures in Utah since Stockton retired is Jerry Sloan. He is notoriously tough on his players, and a rookie point could fold under the pressure of playing for him. Not that I blame him. You "coach" the greatest point guard ever for over a decade, its tough to try and coach some rookie.

I'll honestly say that getting under the cap has never helped a team become good. The Spurs drafted their championships. The Pistons traded for theirs. The Lakers traded for their recent ones. All of the good teams in the league got their by trades. Unless you count teams like the Suns that cleared cap space to get Nash, but honestly, they were one or two pieces away from a great team. The Knicks aren't there yet. I think the Knicks, like the Hawks are going to have to make some decisions. The Hawks, I watch all the time. Josh Childress and Josh Smith are both incredibly athletic guys(Smith especially). They both have what it takes to be shut down defenders in a year or two. Childress has a better offensive game. Smith is the better shot blocker and rebounder and finisher at the basket. But they both play the same position. I think one of them will definately be stars in the league eventually, but neither of them are effective off the bench. As much as they would hate to, they have to make a decision on which guy they are going to build upon and trade the other to get the franchise moving forward. Al Harrington is NOT going to resign, trade him. He is not your future. Right now, Zaza Pachulia, Joe Johnson, and either Marvin Williams, Josh Childress or Josh Smith are your future starters. You NEED a point guard for the future...not Royal Ivy or Tyronee Lue. You NEED a real Power forward. Not just moving a 6-9 small forward their and expecting to compete. Intead they would rather hold on to alot of very talented guys that will never be able to win as a unit. The Knicks are doing the same thing. Trade David Lee and Ariza and if you are going to keep larry brown, Nate Robinson and get the pieces you need. Physical Power forwards, and not the group of jump shooters you got now. Jalen Rose is a bandaid at the SF, but get a guy in his same frame, one that can actually defend. Jamal Crawfor...dude...just trade him. All these guys are talented but they will not play any part in any future that Knicks might have because they have a coach that isn't going to play them or is going to eventually kill their confidence, or they will not get the Playing time to contribute because of the logjam at their position.
