    Jury Duty

It's usually pretty easy to get kicked off of jury's without having to resort to playing the "hates niggers and faggots" card. I think your friend is starved for attention with those kind of comments in a courtroom and he deserves anger management, even if it's not a real anger issue. Depending on what benefits your job has, it might be good to serve. I know my job pays your regular daily salary while you are serving, plus you get a small daily salary from the court for serving. One of my co-workers just served on a jury for a murder case that took 5 weeks. I'd sign on for that kind of action.

    This week in the NBA

It's a combination of the Hornets putting it together quicker than what people projected (Byron Scott and Chris Paul are the catalysts for this IMO) and the West being a weaker conference this year.

    iMPACT Rating back to 0.8

While Joe/AJ/Daniels is starting to wear on me, they can still get some mileage out of putting them in unconventional matches since they've maxed out on what they can do in a regular match with each other. The key here is TNA needs to start grooming who is going to enter into the next tier of the X Division. Is it Jay Lethal? Alex Shelley? Chris Sabin? All 3? Don't know, but they need to choose quick and go without hesitation. Also ,while it appears Sting is worth about .3-.4 worth of fans, TNA needs to put Sting (as well as the rest of the roster) in position to get these new eyeballs to buy ppv's. TNA gets no money from iMPACT whether they draw .4 rating or 4.0 rating. The key is getting people to buy the ppv's. WWE doesn't get a nickel from Raw's ratings, however they run ppv's that are profitable. TNA needs to figure out how to get the new eyeballs watching to buy into them.

    Hogan DVD match listings

My comments in bold... DISC 1: NWA Southeastern Championship Wrestling, 5/5/79: Terry "The Hulk" Boulder vs. Andre the Giant (arm wrestling match)Haven't seen it. Probrably a good angle, but may not hold up well WWE, 13/11/79: Hulk Hogan vs. Harry Valdez (WWE debut, Championship Wrestling)Purely for historical purposes. This will not be good. WWE, 17/12/79: "The Incredible" Hulk Hogan vs. Ted DiBiase (Madison Square Garden debut)Historical purposes WWE, 9/8/80: "The Incredible" Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant (Showdown At Shea)Historical purposes. The match is shit. AWA, 18/4/82: Nick Bockwinkel! vs. Hulk Hogan (AWA World Championship)Haven't seen it. AWA, 24/4/83: Nick Bockwinkel vs. Hulk Hogan (AWA World Championship, Super Sunday)Haven't seen it, heard it was good NJPW, 2/6/83: Hulk Hogan vs. Antonio Inoki (IWGP Championship tournament finals)Good match. One of the reasons to get this set. DISC 2: WWE, 23/1/84: Iron Sheik vs. Hulk Hogan (WWE Championship)Historical purposes only. Match sucks WWE, 31/3/85: Hulk Hogan & Mr. T vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper & "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (WrestleMania)Historical and match isn't terrible, considering Mr Fucking T is in it WWE, 7/4/86: Hulk Hogan vs. King Kong Bundy (steel cage match, WrestleMania 2)Not needed. Good storyline, but this match blew 6 kinds of dick WWE, 3/1/87: Hulk Hogan vs. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (steel cage match, Saturday Night's Main Event)Excellent match. To this day, I argue Mr Wonderful made it to the floor first. Yes, I am a mark for this match WWE, 29/3/87: Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant (WrestleMania III)Not really needed since it's available everywhere on dvd. Match blows too WWE, 29/8/88: The Mega-Powers vs. The Mega-Bucks (SummerSlam) Not necessary. If you are going to include a match from the feud with Dibiase, it might as well be this one WWE, 2/4/89: "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Hulk Hogan (WWE Championship, WrestleMania V)Excellent match. Take a look at Savage's elbow as it's bandaged up something fierce due to staph infection. WWE, 1/4/90: Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior (Wre! stleMania VI)Available elsewhere. Not really needed, but a pretty good match DISC 3: WWE, 27/8/90: Hulk Hogan vs. Earthquake (SummerSlam)Don't remember this match that well, which tends to make me believe it wasn't that good WWE, 24/3/91: Sgt. Slaughter vs. Hulk Hogan (WWE Championship, WrestleMania VII)Ugh. A dark time for WWF and foreshadows what Vince will do to get heat WWE, 3/12/91: Undertaker vs. Hulk Hogan (WWE Championship, Tuesday In Texas)Yuckers. Avoid at all costs WCW, 17/7/94: Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan (WCW Championship, Bash At the Beach)Not bad. Good to see them putting the library to use WCW, 23/10/94: Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair (WCW Championship - steel cage retirement match, Halloween Havoc)Eh, not bad, but not necessary either WCW, 15/9/96: Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, & nWo Sting vs. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, & Sting ("War Games:The Match Beyond", Fall Brawl)I enjoyed this War Games more than others, but just because I enjoyed the fake Sting angle and the real Sting having the superman shine. WCW, 29/12/97: Hollywood Hogan vs. Sting (WCW Championship - Starrcade)Not good and really only needed to see Nick Patrick and Hogan screw Sting's win up. DISC 4: WWE, 11/3/02: Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, & Kevin Nash vs. The Rock & Stone Cold Steve Austin (RAW)Not good and totally exposes how old the nWo was at that time WWE, 17/3/02: Hollywood Hogan vs. The Rock (WrestleMania X8)!Crowd heat and historical purposes only. Match sucks WWE, 21/4/02: Triple H vs. Hulk Hogan (WWE Championship, Backlash)Match sucks. This is not needed anywhere for any reason except to show people that old people shouldn't work with people who are still injured WWE, 4/7/02: Billy & Chuck vs. Hulk Hogan & Edge (World Tag Team Championship, SmackDown!)Good reaction and feel good ending. Not a bad selection for a dvd WWE, 30/3/03: Hulk Hogan vs. Mr. McMahon (streetfight, WrestleMania XIX)Entertaining tricks and gimmicks match. Good for a DVD. WWE, 21/8/05: Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels (SummerSlam)Really only worth it to see HBK trying to make a mockery of the match with his overselling, especially the big boot.

    This week in the NBA

Do you mean they are going to sign more FA's because Odom will be gone? Cause the Lakers are way over the cap and it won't get much better with Odom and Kobe's contracts balooning every year from here on out.

    New CEO

Totally agree with this. Also, some advice for the New CEO. Cut the bad wrestlers and keep the good ones. While I can't guarantee it'll draw more fans, it'll helpe the quality of the shows for sure.

    Booking philosophies and disciplines

One of Jim Cornette's booking disciplines is if a babyface promises he's going to do something, then you have to book it as such. For Against All Odds, Christian promised to take the NWA championship from Jeff Jarrett at the faux press conference. At the PPV, that is what Christian did. The reaction was fantastic. It also helped Christian in that he did what he said he was going to do. Imagine what damage would've been caused had Christian not done what he promised the fans he would do? Just another fine example of booking discipline and how it truly effects the product.

    This week in the NBA

Just to add, while I think it's very unlikely the Kings will not make the playoffs because they are just too far behind and it would take at least 2 monumental collapses from teams already in the playoff hunt and 2 big runs by the Kings to get in, I like the prospect of next year. Provided Artest comes back, the emergence of Francisco Garcia as a poor man's Tayshaun Prince and Kevin Martin making Bonzi Wells expendable, I think the Kings will be back to a solid playoff team next year. The key here is the 3 guys I named off are all young and athletic, two attributes that have slipped by the Kings the last 2 years.

    This week in the NBA

There were 2 instances yesterday that had everyone in the stands shaking their heads in the 4th. One was where the Grizz either tied or got the game within 2. On the inbounds, Mike Dunleavy had either Richardson or Fisher to throw in to with Battier being the only guy there to apply pressure on either guard. Both guards should've split but instead both ran towards the same side of the court, allowing Battier to guard both because they were in the same space and Dunleavy had to burn a timeout because he couldn't figure out how to get the ball in to 1 of 2 men with only 1 man back. While that instance could be attributed to the players having a brain fart, Mickael Pietrus intentionally fouling Chucky Atkins with 7 seconds left IN A TIE BALL GAME WITH NO FOULS TO GIVE was beyond fucking stupid, especially coming out of a time out. The look on Derek Fisher's face was priceless as he just stared off in disbelief. There was a hush in the crowd, but they were all screaming in their heads, "WTF?"

    Smackdown Thread 2/10/06

Decent show overall. Not bad going into No Way Out, although no fucking way I buy that show. Henry vs Taker was pretty decent, and given the two men involved this was pretty much a miracle. Hopefully they didn't blow their wad before Mania. Rey/Orton stuff was blah. I'm not even shocked. Just turned off and definitely not buying the ppv to watch Vicki and Rey whore themselves out in the name of Eddie. MNM had a decent tag match with the ROH throwbacks. If Nitro can just step up a notch more, MNM can become a memorable act. Too bad that even though they are the tag champs, they are used to feed the main eventers. I didn't like the 4 way. Not even Benoit could save this. He did what he could, but he can't work for 4. Orlando just needs to go. He's horrible and has shown zero improvement since, well, since he debuted. Matt Hardy is uninspired (can't blame him since he's still being punished) and is starting to stink it up in the ring. JBL was paint by numbers except that horrible elbow off the second rope that makes Tenryu's look like the Macho Man. Finlay needs more ass beating segments. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a decent push (not title level, but right above it) and possibly take on a guy like Taker. SD fuckin smoked Raw this week.

And of course it had to get worse

    Yes.
  14. Dangerous A

And of course it had to get worse

Bingo. They ruined the WM moment and Rey's potential title win, whenever it happens. Rey winning the title at WM being the company's smallest man other than a midget is a story written by itself. Rey doesn't need the Eddie bit to get over. If they were doing Rey chasing and winning at WM and at the very moment he has the title, he does tribute to Eddie, then the moment would be special and magical. It's now rotten if and when it goes down because of the way they've done this storyline.

    Eddie Guerrero Alive??????

    You're a moron.
  16. Dangerous A

And of course it had to get worse

The funny thing about all of this is none of it has convinced me to buy No Way Out. If anything, this just cheapens the moment Rey finally does win the title . The story of Rey doing this for Eddie is now dirty to me. If it were more subtle, I could get with it. An occasional sign of the cross or what have you. Instead, Randy isn't even addressing Rey any longer, he's addressing Eddie. Way to take the shine off of Rey, guys.
  17. Dangerous A

    Eddie Guerrero Alive??????

Eddie is alive. Through Rey and Chavo. And WWE isn't going to let you ever forget it. Ever. As long as WWE also continues to hear criticism about what they are doing, they are going to continue shoving this in our faces. I am not offended or shocked by any of this stuff. Just saddened.
  18. Dangerous A

And of course it had to get worse

I don't see the big deal here. I mean, WWE has turned Rey into Eddie. Eddie is now the most over babyface on either brand. Listen to the chants. They're not for Rey, they're for Eddie. Eddie has scooped Rey's heat. WWE actually has a dead man working for them. (and no, I don't mean Undertaker) Everything Randy has done, it's been towards Eddie. Last week, Randy didn't cut a promo on Rey, he cut it on Eddie. Rey is Eddie. He's wearing Eddie's shirt. Rey comes out in the lowrider. He does his mannerisms and frog splash. Eddie has possessed Rey. Viva La Eddie~!

    Heart Throbs released

Holy shit, those were more entertaining than anything WWE has produced in about a year or so. WWE completely missed the boat on the Heart Breakers. They are doing the same with the Dicks (Tolands) because the Tolands with Jillian and Ken Anderson stuff was gold. If they brought the Blond Bombers act to SD, I have no doubt it would get over huge on WWE TV. Of course, then that would be like telling Steph and Co. that the creations of Jim Cornette are better than theirs and we can't have that, now can we?

    Heart Throbs released

Agreed with you Zack. One thing about them though is I am not sure if they were to do the exact same schtick they did in OVW that it would get over in WWE. What they did really worked well in the small room environment that is OVW, but once on the road in front of groups of thousands of people, it may not have worked. Even with that said, I still think their OVW act would've had a better chance at getting over than what they did. Add to it that they still needed a good year of in ring training. I can tell you TNA and ROH will probrably not be looking to sign these guys once 90 days runs out.

    This week in the NBA

Only thing I can think of is the coaches wanted more of a real 2 guard on the bench vs. more point guards. Still, Kidd or Arenas should've gotten in. I'm ok with Gasol over Okur. Gasol was a candidate the last 2 years whereas this is Okur's first breakout type season. I think he'll make it in the future. As for Chris Paul, it's wrong to be left off, but I think he's a shoe-in for next year.

What a crock of shit this thread has become, right around, oh, middle of page 2 posts from today and beyond. Holy fuck, what a bunch of goddam retards there are here. Just motherfuck me. Either say you wish Matt well here or head to HD and start a "I hope Matt dies" thread. How fucking hard is it for some of you fucks to get? I swear I've lost IQ points just reading some of the monkey shit posted in this thread.

    Simon Inoki at WWE Headquarters..

The links above you still work. Still no new news on why Inoki was there. Also, here is the latest from the Observer regarding Brock... "They've also reported Simon Inoki, the president of New Japan, was at WWE headquarters today. Don't know why, but we should have something later. I'd guess it has to do with the Brock Lesnar case. Judge Christopher Droney has yet to rule after both sides gave their arguments yesterday. Both sides were in lengthy settlement meetings before making their arguments, but couldn't come to an agreement."
