    2005 Wrestler of the Year

Who is the 2005 Wrestler of the Year? Yeah, there's still 2 months left in the year, but that doesn't mean people can't start making cases right now. And right now, I'd have to say Samoa Joe. He's just having killer matches right now. Behind him would probrably be Kenta Kobashi or Jamie Knoble. Kurt Angle will almost always be mentioned since he hasn't missed any significant time. I have to give a shout out to Mistico since Lucha doesn't get any play here. He not only has great matches, but is THE draw right now in Mexico. Make a case.

    Raw Rating back to normal

From PWTorch forums via Scherer. Guess things are back to normal as there was literally no carry over from the Eddie tribute show.

^^^ This is the same guy that included his own son in a lame biological father storyline.

    Raw Rating back to normal

It'll probrably hit that in Feb because the WM hype usually is a draw. By Jan. they may see a little more improvement as well since MNF will be over.

    Announcements from UFC 56

I don't think Shamrock/Ortiz will be a great or even good fight, but both will probrably make this a memorable TUF season because they have real animosity towards each other and both know how to get over as TV stars.

    Armageddon main event revealed!

They could do worse than Orton/Taker, that's for sure. It's not a bad match, even if HIAC is overplayed right now. Key is Orton has to go over. As it looks right now, Orton doesn't look like a WM main event guy, but if done correctly, and that's a big if with this creative crew of monkeys, they can heat him up and he could get it done. In ring, I have no issue with him. He needs to tweak some things about him like the stupid arm pose he does. I'm not saying to drop his signature pose completely, just change it because the current one doesn't work. He also needs to drop his dad and walk on his own. I think a second run on top, as a heel, will be much better for young Randall K. Orton. I look at potential guys who could get the belt and Orton is the most plausible. While Rey is what is clamored for in the IWC, it's not realistic with how Vince promotes wrestling. I am for it, but I'll believe it when I see it. I don't think the office views Benoit as a top guy anymore, hence him now being stuck feuding with Booker for the US Title for at least the next month and a half. Kennedy isn't ready yet. He'll get there, but if they do it now, fans will reject it. Lashley even moreso. JBL isn't a real answer either and no one wants to see Batista/JBL anymore. Hell, in several newsletters they say internally Batista feels JBL sandbagged it in their matches to make Batista look bad. That may be paranoia, but it's not out of the relm of possibility.

    Raw Rating back to normal

The thing is, the rating for Raw is consistent with 3.4-3.7 since the move to USA. They've only drawn big ratings for Homecoming and Eddie's tribute show. They basically have roughly 3.1-3.7 ratings worth of people who will tune in no matter what. The thing is, there is a full ratings point or more worth of people who will tune in if they are given a reason to (Eddie, star driven Homecoming show) but WWE isn't capitalizing on or drawing anything beyond 3.4-3.7, which is their par for the course.

    The Serenity movie thread

Yeah, for some reason Book telling Mal he needs to be on par with what he believes in to deal with the Operative didn't really resonate with me until I saw it the second time. I'll be getting the DVD either for Christmas or B-Day. (which is 11 days later)

    Booking Christian vs Monty...

I thought they were heading to Christian/Roode as well after Genesis since they got in each other's face and all. Then the spoilers came out and, boom, Monty/Christian was born.

Whether Monty is ready or not is pretty much insignificant, the priority is getting the title off of Jarrett. Monty is in the best position to do it and keep some semblence of storyline continuity. Jarrett is such an anti-draw right now that I am of the belief you could strip him of the belt, do a tourney, and the winner of the tourney might actually be better off doing that than winning it from Jarrett himself.

    This week in the NBA

KG on the Knicks takes the Knicks from a "will they make the playoffs?" team to a "how far will they go in the playoffs?" team. They aren't championship contenders, but would become a playoff team barring the Knicks aren't in a big hole by the time KG arrives.

I think Monty's promos are fine except the sniffing. He didn't do any sniffing with Christian, which is why I liked their exchange.

    The Serenity movie thread

RRR or bps, and I don't think I'm spoiling anything here anyways, was the big theme to you, more or less, faith? Having faith in whatever it is that you do, so long as you feel just in it?

Who Will Test Positive For Steroids?

I have to disagree with you. I know Rey is a favorite of many (including myself) but I am not blind to the fact that he is just "bulked up". Sorry, but he's changed and it's because of substances other than what's available at GNC.

    This week in the NBA

On one of the latest ESPN blogs from the NBA section, the reporter says that the Knicks and T-Wolves could end up making some sort of deal where Kevin Garnett goes to New York for the expiring contracts of Penny Hardaway, Mau Taylor (I think), and perhaps another player thrown in. The source thinks that KG is trying to get traded, which is why he publicly criticized Kevin McHale recently and that Marbury is also clamoring for KG to reunite with him. The Pistons are also rumored to have proposed Rasheed Wallace and Darko Milicic for KG as well. Dumars and the T-Wolves are denying they've even spoken about it. I'll tell you what, KG going to the Pistons would be damn near unfair. Between him and Big Ben, who would grab a rebound on the opposing team or even their own?

TNA iMPACT rating drops to 0.6

Except Giant Baba. And Hiroshi Hase. And Mitsuharu Misawa. And Ricky Choshu. (at least from 1991-96) As far as NA, I can't think of any, but booking a wrestling company and being a wrestler can be done.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

With physiques fixing to shrink because of testing in the future, I wonder if this means we'll get a CM Punk call up and possible push? Oh yeah, I forgot, CM Punk doesn't know how to work. Silly me. Guess I'll go watch Joe/Punk II for a full hour of how "not" to work.

    I'm Not Feeling Survivor Series

Very much agreed. There isn't even a feel of climax, finality, or closure for some of the repeat matchups (HHH/Flair, Cena/Angle) either.

TNA iMPACT rating drops to 0.6

Fuck yeah. Why does TNA feel the need to copy the WWE business model in regards to this particular area. They'll make much more money booking 7-8 properly promoted shows as opposed to 12 shows where potentiall more than half of the shows are going to be rush booked. With the cost of doing a ppv, are they even making money off of ppv? Another fundamental problem is, yes broken record time, Jeff Jarrett. Usually you book to make money. TNA is booking to make Jeff Jarrett a star he'll never be and the company is suffering for it. On the Thursday prime time special, the viewership went from .9 to .7 for the main event. They lost viewers going into the main event of the show. That almost never happens on a wrestling show where you build to the main event. Rating is supposed to climb and peak for the ending, not drop. Plus, some of the audience was tipped off that Jarrett was getting the title back, so the prospect of an NWA title change to Jarrett turned people off. THAT is your biggest problem. The other little things mentioned throughout this folder don't help either.

    I'm Not Feeling Survivor Series

You just did exactly what I have wanted and helped me make my point, Rando. What you just stated was all good. But why aren't the wrestlers stating these motivations and such? We (fans) are having to bridge gaps and come to conclusions and that is no good and is part of the reason that this threads topic (not feeling the ppv) even exists. I am no idiot and like to come to some conclusions to things on my own, but this match just seems thrown together and basically Long and Bischoff are the talking heads and such. I know they lost a week with the death of Eddie G., but they could've given mic time and a few lines to guys explaining motivations and such for such a big, interpromotional match. Oh yeah, I won't be buying this show either.

Just Watched the Bret Hart DVD

Uh, because he doesn't like WWE/F anymore?

    I'm Not Feeling Survivor Series

I may have missed a promo by either HBK, Kane, BS, Carlito, or Masters regarding this "honor" since it's Bischoff doing all the talking.

    I'm Not Feeling Survivor Series

Why do the face Raw guys even want to fight in the SurSer match? Here is heel GM Bischoff, who has fucked with and made things hard for the faces, and all of a sudden HBK, Kane, and Big Show feel some sense of loyalty to Bischoff and the brand? Bullshit. Only in the bubble does this make any sense. When my boss makes my job hard and is a huge dick about it, the last thing I want to do is work overtime or go out of my way to please them. Little things like this is what kills this company creatively just a little each day.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

There is no need for an "authority figure" in all of pro wrestling for the next 6-7 years. Fuck, even ROH has a stupid authority figure. It's a relic of the Attitude and NWO era and it needs to be put to bed.

TNA iMPACT rating drops to 0.6

.9 was the rating for both their peak Saturday night and the Thursday Prime Time special.
