I'm not disappointed that Shogun lost here because it was off of a freak injury. He looked really good on the ground going for submission after submission and was winning the fight up until that point, so I have little doubt that he'd lose a rematch. Plus, I woke up today thinking "Shogun Lost", which he did, but he really wasn't "beaten". What I am disappointed in is that the fight didn't go very long and this injury will probably take Shogun out of the Grand Prix. In other news, that Roman knockout is fucking AWESOME.

I disagree in a way. We were spoiled by PRIDE putting on these supercards for the past few years so that when they come out with "Regular" cards, they lack excitement. But if you look at the matches they are putting up, there's a lot of fun shit on this. We're gonna get a Rizzo squash, we're gonna get a Rampage squash, and we're gonna get a Mark Hunt squash, so all that should be fun. Then there are matches like Barnett/Nak, Sergei/Overeem, Tamura/Nog, Sperry/Kohsaka, and Shogun/Coleman that has the possibility to be very competitive and very fun matches. I think this is going to be a very entertaining card, it's just not a very relevant card. As for PRIDE in general, they don't have any contenders for their champions right now, whereas the UFC has a ton, so you can get excited about stuff whereas with PRIDE we can't really see anything happening in the future. The BUSHIDO shows did a good job in building up guys, and I hope they continue along that line in 06, so I won't make a final judgement on PRIDE until the next BUSHIDO line up is released.

This won't have a great effect on either the WWE or Stacy. Stacy will get more magazine covers, but I don't imagine anything more than that. TV, Movies? I can't see it other than maybe a bigger bit part. So instead of 1 line, she'll get two, and move up from "Restaurant Customer 4" to "Restaurant Customer 2" How many reality/contest participants successfully transition their celebrity into other ventures? Even the ones from much more successful shows (American Idol, Survivor) with twice the audience base don't get much milage out of their 15 minutes. The WWE won't be effected because Stacy has been rather irrelevant during her entire WWE tenure. And Stacy's acting ability is this: When she laughs, she covers her mouth and points. This is the only way she knows how to convey laughter.
