Dawn Marie files complaint against WWE
RavishingRickRudo replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
How did they treat her like shit, though? They fired her because they didn't need her any more. I think wrestlers deserve a lot of the blame for their contract situations, simply because the option to Unionize is there, but won't happen because of individual interests blocking it. -
Well, that sort of thing requires effort. Put your noggins together, I'm sure you can find new things to talk about, new spins on old topics, various controversial statements that would get peoples blood boiling again. It would be a strategic solution to the problem, there would be a plan and that plan would take some time to be formulated and implemented. I would suggest a brainstorming session from you mods in your mod folder and come up with, I dunno, 10 topics per month (one every 3 day), that you will put on the board that will get people thinking about bigger issues, or perhaps what look to be minor issues but have a greater importance than one would think. I'll throw out this: People like to share their preferences (favourite wrestler right now), you take that fact and you try to spin it in a way that gets people to think, discuss, and debate. Maybe recruit a few members from the forum to agree to participate in the discussion to get things going, maybe artificially create a debate within a thread and let the forum members take things from there.

The WWE Folder isn't bad, it's just uninspired. I don't think many people care enough about the WWE to put the effort in. And those that do care enough to put effort in their posts have really worthless opinions. It's like, why would I put any stock into someones opinion after they watched New Years Revolution when their opinion before the show was "Hey, I should buy this!" It's bad judgment before, so why would after be any different? Plus, we've kinda discussed every subject under the sun about the WWE for the past 5 years, and since they are keen on reliving the mistakes they've made in the past 5 years, there isn't anything new to say. The best solution would be an initiative to create new discussion, IMO. But people who say stuff like this... ...should be gone. Ditto people who say "I'd love to see THIS happen just to see all the smarks get in an uproar".

Dawn Marie files complaint against WWE

Well, Steph is an employee of the WWE in her position of Director of Creative, and only is an IC when she's on screen (and therefore gets paid seperately). -
Dawn Marie files complaint against WWE
RavishingRickRudo replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Dawn Marie is self-employed, her pregnancy would have prevented her from performing her contractually obligated duties to the WWE. If you hire a plumber for a series of jobs and she gets knocked up and can't work on your house anymore, why should you still pay her everything that was originally stated? Of course, I think the whole Independent Contractor thing with the WWE is a load of hogwash and warrants investigation by government because wrestlers clearly are, for all intents and purposes, employees of the E yet the WWE saves millions by not classifying them as such and can get away with bullshit firings. I think if this thing goes to court, the jury would see it the same way, which might open up a can of worms for the WWE. -
Eko is so badass. I might have to label him KOTI and take the crown off Jack cause Jack didn't slit two guys' throats at the same time or stare down the Black Death Cloud. Great stuff with the flashbacks and the plane.

Marty was the sacrificial lamb in Rorys life. I love the way they used Marty to show that Rory has moved on from that type of guy, who was essentially like Dean but with Yale Education and less drama (which was basically the whole problem with Dean), and her removal from the old life and in to her new life and later-on her dissent. Family Guy and Gilmore Girls, could there be two shows related to each other that have no right to be related to each other?
-
No, it's all a ruse put on by our PR dept.

I think this show is worst than LOST when it comes to ending the show about 5 minutes too early. WHY WON'T YOU LET US SEE MORE DAMMIT!!

This Rory on the couch stuff is hilarious. Kirk and wireless internet, Kirk and the coffee... goddamn.

Hey, reading my last post (before my shameless admission of self gratification to... clinch... knees... oh GOD, here WE GO AGAIN!!) *40 seconds later* Ok, whew, I, um, I got season 5 on DVD. The commentary ain't bad, it appears Amy SP leaves the commentary about 30 minutes in and they don't really acknowledge it (her and her husband did it). I am rewatching episodes now and the season is moon rocks. I don't know how I was able to watch Season 6 without having seen the last few episodes in season 5. Just great stuff.

Ok. Doyle just choked out Paris and Paris clinched kneed Doyle and I just lost my hand to my pants.

Dominic was on Jimmy Kimmel and if I heard right, there are two episodes airing on Weds. 8-9 and 9-10.

Movies that didn't warrant a sequal
RavishingRickRudo replied to Epic Reine's topic in Television & Film
To be fair to Underworld, it set itself up well for a sequel. -
Guy Mezger Enson Inoue Igor Vovchanchyn Wanderlei Silva Gilbert Yvel Gary Goodridge Kazushi Sakuraba Renzo Gracie

If I were HHH, I'd be more worried about Vince.

What I like about this, is that the kid is SO going to have the last name McMahon.

Let's hope this spawn gets an absurd amout of attention from its parents, which will keep them away from the WWE, for the longest time possible. RRR: Giddy with the prospect of Steph getting her mitts off the writing team.

Thoughts on the Following Fighters
RavishingRickRudo replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Guy Mezger, to me, was a fighter who was probably a lot better than people (coughMEcough) give him credit for. The dude could hang with the best at 205. He beat Chuck in the first round of their PRIDE fight, even knocking Chuck down at one point from a strike. Of course, Chuck finished him in about a minute in to the second round, but still, that shouldn't take away from Mezgers accomplishments in the first. I haven't seen the Arona fight, but I heard it was close. Ditto the Minotoro fight. He was giving Silva all he could handle as well in their PRIDE 10 match, and the finish of that fight was mighty suspect. He also pretty much beat Sakuraba at PRIDE 10 and that's when Sak was fucking awesome. For a guy who started in 1994 and competed at UFC 4, to be competitive at this level is amazing. -
This is the best news ever.

Don't you tease.

*Sam Stout, who has competed in TKO for a few years with an 8-1-1 record has been added to the 3/4 UFC PPV underneath Rich Franklin Vs David Loiseau for the Middleweight Title. No opponent has been named as of yet. From Live Audio Wrestling. Let's get a full Canadian card here

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
RavishingRickRudo replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
PRIDE has different names for their divisions. Heavyweight = Heavyweight Middleweight = Light Heavyweight Welterweight = Middleweight Lightweight = Welterweight UFC readjusted their belts after the Zuffa takeover where they were trying to get in favour of NSAC regulators (middleweight used to be their LHW too), whereas PRIDE keeps it the same. The weight difference at Welterweight being 183 instead of 185, I imagine, is because Middleweight is 93 kilos, which is equal to 205lbs, and Welterweight is 10 kilos less at 83 kilos, which is equal to 183lbs. -
