I would place more importance on "Who would be the next GM" than "the trial of Eric Bischoff" and the subsequent "comedy". Last week they announced that this week Bischoff would be fired, people tuned into see what would happen. They'll probably tune in next week to see who the GM is and if the GM isn't anything special, they won't tune in much after that.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

In the latest Rolling Stone magazine (the one with J Hova on the cover, holla) there's a feature with Chris Rock listing the top 25 hip hop albums. At number 3 is Rap Phenomenon II, this is what Rock has to say about it... "...So you hear Tupac rapping over the "hate me now" beat. It's the best shit in the world. It's ultimate fighting music. You will kill somebodu listening to this shit." "Ultimate Fighting"???? MAINSTREAM~! -
Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels are bad wrestlers?
RavishingRickRudo replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
These are guys who trumpeted Mark Henry as a top worker. They're whacky. But this is TSM. TSM. Not DVD. TSM. TSM = The Smart Marks DVD = Death Valley Driver I don't know why people post the same shit on both boards. -
Season 5 is coming out on DVD and... IT HAS COMMENTARY! On one episode! ...with people who are not Lauren Graham or any of the cast. Still... COMMENTARY! I have 2 or 3 more episodes left in Season 5, but I might just wait until I get the DVD for Christmas, despite having it already on my harddrive.

Man, I would so cuddle with Dixie Carter. And while doing so, give her booking advice and storyline ideas. God that'd be hot.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread
RavishingRickRudo replied to dubq's topic in TNA Wrestling
TNA needs to do some cross promotion with UFC. Basically the only reason I feel this way (and the only reason I need to feel this way) is to have Matt Hughes give his thoughts on Jeff Jarrett. "Jeff Jarrett, who's Jeff Jarrett? Who has he beat? The guy's a joke, that's what he is. If wrestling needs someone who talks about how great he is, despite not actually accomplishing anything in his entire career, well, then he'd be perfect for that spot. The guy hits people with a guitar. That's ridiculous. He played second fiddle to Debra McMichaels breasts. He calls himself King of the Mountain? I've defend my belt 7 or 8 times, and I don't have a nickname. I don't need one. My success is the only nickname I need. I don't need a guitar, or some lackeys at my side. I have a fight team, the best fight team, but they don't fight my fights. Anyone who does that is a coward, in my opinion." Of course, all of this said in the straight-forward, 100% confident Matt Hughes style. -
Edge: This is the show THEY don't want you to see! Fan: So why are we seeing it? Seriously, it's not the grand canyon of logic. Either have him censored whenever he's about to say something on TV, have him go on-line and say this shit on his website (conveniently referenced (or hacked) though WWE.com), say he has photos of some top brass, or SOMETHING to explain why he's out there and is not being censored. Him just saying shit and then going on about how its taboo doesn't make it controversial. We know they are allowing it, so how about helping us believe they aren't?
-
I think it's quite the opposite with Edge. He sounds very scripted, to me. The problem with Edge being "censored" is that if they really didn't like what he was saying, they'd cut to a commercial. So clearly he's not being censored. They need to explain that some how for it to work. Maybe Edge pays off the production people? Maybe he's good friends with Kevin Dunn. They could do one segment with Edge and Kevin Dunn with Edge explaining who Kevin Dunn is, and explains that Kevin Dunn loves controversy, and that Dunn allows for Edge to get away with saying stuff that the locker room or "the office" doesn't want to hear.

Fight of the Year Discussion
RavishingRickRudo replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Any display of skill, whether in a highly competitve match or a one-sided drubbing makes for a good-excellent match depending on the level of skill displayed. Both Fedor/Nog fights, to me, are excellent matches. Fedor is brilliant in them. When it comes to fighting, to completely shut down an opponent an amazing thing. -

Damn, Lei really doesn't like Monson. ... I think I may have to start cheering for him. -
There's something about someone who isn't from the carny school of wrestling say there will be a surpise that makes me trust them. We need to start a Damn You Dixie club...

Alright. Here's how it goes. *Segment opens with Hayes walking down a hall, sees Murdoch sittin in a lawn chair, an open cooler at his side, and an open beer in his hand. * "You can't drink that in here, Mr. Murdoch" "Whuh?" "You can't drink that beer in here." "Did you just call me "Mister Murdoch"?" "Alright, "Trevor", you can't drink that backstage. Against company policy" "Now hows bouts that, Michael PS Hayes, tell me I can't drink my beer... shoot... and "Company Policy"... now that's a damn shame, the ol freebird is now a company man..." "Are you gonna throw that drink out or what?" "I think, the question is, are you gonna sit down and grab a cold'un, or are you gonna be that company man that you would have spat on years ago.." "That was a different life" "Ain't no life but the one we lead, boss. Nothin different bout this one." "Ain't that the truth..." *Murdoch offers Hayes a beer* *Segment ends* *Segment, later on in the show, opens with Slaugther walkin down the hall, as he stops to see Murdoch sittin in a lawchair, wasted. The camera pans over to show Hayes in the other chair, also wasted.* Then over the next few weeks you have Hayes and Murdoch sittin back, shootin the shit, eventually joined by other wrestlers who say fuck the whole corporate life and company suits and sit down in a lawn chair and get a drink from the cooler. This becomes the stable. Bunch of guys who drink, eat, fuck chicks, and kick the shit outta other guys for money. Gotta have some BBQ there, TV on watchin football, maybe some kids runnin around for no reason. Maybe even have a trailer set up in the parking lot or a truck, like a tailgate. Whenever a wrestler has to go wrestle, he gets up from his lawn chair, says "see ya, boys" and gets in the ring. Win or lose, he gets paid, either got his ass kicked or kicked some ass, and now is back to have another beer. Then when they're confonted, PS Hayes can cut one of those killer promos. They could feud with all the Yankees and shit.
