Don't tease me like that. Lesnar/Benoit should have happened at the Royal Rumble with a Benoit win. Everyone knows that. (EVERYONE)

Shelly might be my favourite wrestler right now.

"It's sad to see Bobby Heenan in this condition." In TNA? Agreed. I keed. They should have had like a dozen people walk through that segment with Don West being more and more shocked along the way. "Clockwork Orange" was just plain restupided.

Yeah, those fucking Jerks for not ignoring the WWE's blatent disregard to their agreement.

Watched Gomi vs. Penn, the second round was pretty competitive but the rest of it was BJ Penn dominating. Jeesus, it's kinda hard not to think of that guy as the best fighter in the world, especially after a performance like that. -
The name "World Wrestling Entertainment" is fine and they needed the smallest change possible as not to hurt the goodwill their brand acquired. The only way the WWE could go back to being the WWF is by buying the name from the Fund and they don't have the money for that. Changing the Set is much more relevant than changing their name. As is changing the logo. If someone who watched 5 years ago that isn't watching now sees everything is pretty much the same as before (which is what they chose to leave), why would they go back to watch it?

What about Kanye West?

I think in the case of having their memories altered, it is neither fate OR a coincidence.

Kurt Angle Responds To "Death Watch" Rumors
RavishingRickRudo replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
The Czech Infection. I like it. This contradicts Kurt's view in 2000 when he said he was willing to accept living the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Then again 5 years does change things. Then again, he's right on course to being able to park much closer to public buildings. -
I think there is a lot from Carl Jung that could be used in describing chunks of LOST. Which sorta helps support the notion of a psychological experiment. The worst ending would probably be "You are the last people left on earth, there is no where else to go".

Ah.. ..wuh? UFC needs gimmick matches. -
No. Nor did he incessantly cry out PRIME TIME! HIS HOUSE! PRIME TIME! PRIME TIME! HIS HOUSE! or hate on Scott James or constantly defer to Tony.

Fuck it. Give Regal the world title and book 2006 around Benoit/Regal. They fight like men. Benoit chopping the top of Regals head and Regal selling it is, like, the spot of the year. A running forearm from Regal for a near fall. Bookers commentary is fantastic. Continually calling for the ref to stop the match. Tryin to be an announcer. Benoit doing a dive over the announce table. Fuck this match ruled.

What if all the Survivors have had their memories altered? That there wasn't really a crash, that they were perhaps taken from their homes (or maybe even volunteered) for a scientific experiment where they were given all knew memories (or relatively new memories). Think Dark City. That the Black Horse being on the island and in Kates mind is not a coincidence, or a manefestation, but that the people who inserted those memories decided to see how Kate would react to the horse being on the island. Maybe Claire wasn't reacting well to it so they tried again, which is why she couldn't remember what happened after the crash.

Lost really needs to have a Christmas Special.

Well that's interesting. VERY interesting.

Hogan was a better worker than Michaels. Much better. Not a better athlete, didn't put on better matches, but when it came to working the crowd and working match, there were few better. What Shawn had to accomplish by flying around the ring, Hogan could accomplish just by looking at the crowd.

The RAW number fluctuates so much since their USA debut that it's hard to say if anyone (or thing) is drawing. In a previous rating thread I said their average would be a 3.6 with a +/- of 0.3, which is too large of a range to have an average in but right now it's the only way to explain these wild fluctuations. For now, this isn't a result of anything the product is doing, it is just the average viewers tv/RAW watching tendencies. Of course, someone could go back and see who was main eventing when, and what storylines were going on, and other certain qualities to the program and see if those who were on the last time they got a 3.9 were on this week and see if there is an actual draw to the WWE and prove that wrong. I just don't really feel like it.

Locke and Eko are bound to clash. They are both men of strong belief, but they believe in different things. The first episode of the season was "Man of Science vs. Man of Faith" and was resolved peacefully, this is "Man of Faith vs. Man of Faith" and tell me the latter doesn't end up with more bloodshed than the former. Locke believes in the island, Eko believes in the bible. Problem is, the bible talks about worshoping false idols, and the island certainly would be that. Locke knows what Ekos beliefs are, and he probably knows how Eko would react to some of the stranger elements on the island and how he would interpret them, which will make it interesting to see what games Locke plays with him. It will also be interesting to see what happens when Eko finds out about Lockes beliefs. I think Eko sees through Lockes fake smile, I think Locke knows Eko sees through the fake smile, but they are currently trying to feel each other out before they make their respective move. Locke sees this as a game, he knows he needs to have the right people on his side, and he knows Eko could be a big threat to him. I never gave much thought to this before, but it's interesting that both sides had outside forces threatening them. Why didn't you see the security system affecting the tailies? Why didn't you see The Others rush and take away the 48 survivors like they did with the tailies? The first night the 48 were on the beach they say trees toppling over. The threat was pretty clearly established. Ditto with the tailies and the others. I always draw back to Locke breaking down, crying, when he can't get into the hatch. That is the real Locke. The Locke we see 99% of the time, the confident one, the hunter, the gamesman, that's a mask. The Locke we see 1% of the time, with the hatch, the little mistake when the pressure from the island was on, that's the real one.

He should have post-match press conferences, And the agent needs to be jewish. And NOT Paul Heyman. We need more intellectual jew than pompus, arrogant jew. Like this guy. But with more spin.

Sheldon (I know it's Shelton, this is a habit) Benjamin has the physical tools to be a fantastic wrestler. He is, however, limited by the WWE when it comes to developing and using those tools. He's a product of the WWE development system, which is certainly a knock against him. He is a company man, he follows the company line, he does what the company tells him to do, and he doesn't know anything other than the WWE. This means he'll wrestle the way they want him to wrestle, and he'll also act they way they want him to act. Problem is, especially character wise, they don't really know Sheldon Benjamin. Benjamin has a _great_ look. The guy looks like a fighter. He looks like he should be in the Light Heavyweight Division in the UFC. The problem comes with the WWE being confused how to present him and get him over with the audience. They've tried different things, but gave up on them when they felt they didn't get a main event superstar out of it (or whatever their intent was). They wanted him to be the smart-ass, jokey kinda guy. It didn't come off too well. Why? Probably because it's not him, and the fans don't buy what he's saying. They know he's just reciting from a script, because its obvious he is. The dude isn't a great actor, he can't take words off a page and make them his own. The dude is a wrestler, and wrestlers don't need to be great actors. They just need to be able to get across who they are and what they know and they can do that well and convincingly, because its natural. They tried to get him over as "the best pure athlete in the WWE today", which is actually better than their usual pap, but it lends itself to a big SO WHAT? He needs to do amazing things that you won't see anyone else do in his matches, and he needs to win those matches. This is where the WWE fell short. They allowed him to do the spots (think WM 21 time), those individual spots got over with the crowd, but afterwards when he lost the matches, it was a "can you believe that happened" rather than "That Benjamin guy is AWESOME!". And one of the biggest killers for Benjamin is the WWE's push-halt-push strategy. This has happened to him a lot, and soon enough it will be too many times and the fans won't buy him in a top spot. He will get Jerichod. Why should the fans get behind him, why should the fans support him, when they know that a month down the line he'll be back in the mid card, or on heat, and their support will have been for nothing? With Brock Lesnar, the best thing they did was stay the course and continue his push even when they weren't getting the results and reactions they wanted to. They actually WORKED HARD to get him over, and the dude got over. I don't think its so much of a race issue as it is a size issue with Benjamin, because Brock got the push not just because he was really strong, he got it because he was really freakishly big which went really well with being really freakishly strong. Benjamin has too many pluses to be dismissed or written off, and one major thing is his personality and promos which many see as a negative. The guy isn't the rock, but does he have to be? His voice is *great*. It's distinct, and it makes for some potential badass remarks. BADASS. Not smartass. He has a very deep voice, if rather than sounding like Will Smith he sounded like Avery Brooks or Lawrence Fishburn, then more of his character would get through and be more effective with the audience. In Hollywood, you have a role and you audition people for the part. You find the right person for the part. In some rare cases, a part is written for someone specific in mind, but in general, the role is written first and the actor is selected second. THIS DOES NOT WORK IN WRESTLING. In Hollywood there are countless actors, all relatively qualified for the part, that could do the role and do it well. With wrestling, there is a finite amount of talent that can be used. So rather than having this role for the wrestler already thought of and wanting the wrestler to act it out, they need to write around the wrestler himself and develop a character that is right for him. Problem is, the writing staff doesn't really interact with the wrestlers on an on-going basis, and they are hollywood writers who have the hollywood mentality of writing characters.

In the Mushnick thread in the WWE folder, and recently in the Drug Testing thread, when I (and talking with LOTC, it's happening to him too) open the thread page. When something loads ("tunkey..." or something similar), it freezes the screen. Both threads were working fine before, but now aren't. My guess is Usethesledgehammer, since after he posted in the Drug Testing thread folder it started to fuck up, and he also posted in the Mushnick thread.

My thoughts when watching the new footage. "That was... underwhelming... so what? Don't talk to the outside world... who cares??" "Uh oh... don't do it Mike" "OH SHIT" "Who is on the other end?" "WALT?!??!?!" Eko: "Don't confuse coincidence with fate" AWESOME. They are SO going to be enemies.
