Gomi would kill you, then rape your corpse. And that's if he's feelin nice. -
Dane Cook is "hot right now" in terms of comedy. At least, that's what Rolling Stone sez. I guess his comedy album is the best selling comedy album in a long time. I like his act, so I might give it a looksee.

The heavyweight fight wasn't the worst fight I've ever seen. Which is really, really, really, sad for me.
-
I say Penn/Parisyan and St. Pierre/Hughes.
-
GSP getting down on his knees and begging for a UFC fight was classic. Penn has a rightful claim to a rematch, but so does St Pierre. Welterweight DRAMA.
-
Hughes is in fucking trouble. GSP went through Sherk and dominated in every single fucking area. Good lord. Horn/Prangley was good, a tough one to call. I was scared for Nate after getting destroyed. Fuck that heavyweight match sucked. Hughes looked good, as always. And um, holy shit holy shit holy shit. BJ fucking Penn?

I think the average person would have a tough time kicking the ass of a trained wrestler. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Doesn't matter if the average person can or can't, would or wouldn't. As long as they think they can, then there's a problem. How can they take that wrestler seriously? -

Nah, I'll turn it back to the original discussion. TNA wrestlers are small and that's a problem. Lying about the sizes of their wrestlers is something that's always been in wrestling, but when I found out that Abyss was an inch or two taller than me, I became much less impressed in what he does and whenever Tenay or West comment about his size I roll my eyes. JJ is just ridiculous to look at as a world champion. The dude doesn't look legit and looking legit is so important in wrestling. Abyss at least looks legit given their camera angles and his relative size to the other wrestlers. I'll stand by Kevin Nashes rule of physical appearance and its importance in wrestling - if I think I can kick your ass, you shouldn't be kicking anyone elses. The Xdivision guys I think can get away with it on one level, but on a national drawing level I don't think they can do anything significant. -

But hasn't the Attitude era changed all that? Who made more money: larger-than-life Hulk Hogan, or every-man Steve Austin? ^ This was the question. Didn't see WWE or WWF listed anywhere in that. Why was it even brought up? -

I'd like to see the numbers comparing Austin and Hogans career drawing record. Since it's a "Fact", it shouldn't be that hard to find, right? Nevertheless, when Austin starts up another wrestling boom with another company, call me. I'll make time to give a shit about his drawing power then. HULK RULES! -
I am officially rooting for Nick Thompson. "My second year there, I made some fake IDs for me and some buddies so that we could get into the local pubs. I got arrested for it, it was in the papers and the team decided to cut me. Their decision might have been made easier given that I wasn't very good and that I often missed the 6 am morning team run. Honestly, who gets up to run at 6 in the morning, outside, in the winter?" "I keep coming after you non-stop. You can beat my ass for 14 minutes and 30 seconds and that last 30 seconds of the fight, I am still going to come after you with everything I have. I am not going to break, I am not going to quit and will find a way to win. That, and I am not afraid to check a man's oil if means getting him into a submission hold. " "Diego is a tool. For Christ sakes, he had a man perm and a Don Juan mustache for his first UFC fight. That's funny if he had meant it to be funny but he didn't. He thought he looked good." "I think if I have my best day and my opponent has their best day, I would beat anyone at 170 except the top 3. I think Hughes, St Pierre and Sherk are way ahead of the field and I know have lots of work until I get to their point. When considering where I rank myself though, it must be taken into account that I am full of myself." "The best fighters in the world fight here (UFC). I think I am one of the best fighters in the world and I am looking forward to proving it. Not to mention, I think after being in the UFC, It will finally be appropriate to speak in the third person. Nick Thompson likes the sounds of that." http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...=1065&zoneid=13 For the entire interview.

I think the context made it one of the best ass beatings of the year. The old vet in Tanner coming close to losing it quickly after the new kid in Terrell sinks in the choke. Nu uh. It's gonna take more than that to put this ol dog away. Tanner gets the advantage afterwards, and starts to lay into Terrell. Terrell could dish it out, now let's see how he takes it. Tanner survived, can he? -
Joe Riggs failed to make weight (reweighed 2 pounds over... after initially weighing 1 pound over), so his match against Hughes will be a non-title fight (as it should have been in the first place). If Riggs can't get ready for the scale, how can he get ready for Hughes?
-
For punches to be effective they need the weight of the person throwing them behind them. With underhooks, you control your opponents mobility which makes it difficult to get anything on the punches. Besides, once you get underhooks, it doesn't take very long before you're either taking your opponent down, or you lost it.

It was one of the worst non-WWE things* they could have done with Christian. (A WWE thing would be making him a stutterer or something)

Well, RVD did a springboard moonsault to pick up a chair just to throw it at someone. The flare thing is an office space reference. I guess I should have spelled it "Flair" but then that would have created a whole new mess of confusion. Sigh. ...it was convoluted. -

I like how intricate Chavos cheating was. It was the useless RVD flare spot of cheating. Step 1: Take two chairs Step 2: Throw one chair in the ring for the ref to pick up Step 3: Throw the other chair at opponent for opponent to catch Step 4: Lay down and act like you got it by a chair Step 5: Ref throws out first chair, returns to see Opponent with chair in hand, takes chair from opponent while Opponent tries to tell the ref he's innocent Step 6: Ref turns his back to return chair, Opponent turns back to action. Step 7: Low blow opponent while Refs back is turned. -

Chavo vs. JBL is a very good match. The finishing sequence is very well done. I don't remember Chavo being that big, though. -

The level of Tanners poundage makes his take over fun. He beats the shit out of Terrell. -
Building up the main events for UFC 56. It would be great if they stopped playing the same background music over and over and over again.
