Yeah, that's what I find funny. The middles had it so good that they could afford to have all that frivolous melodrama. Last year, when the hatch was found, it was like "OH MY GOD THERE'S A HATCH ON THE ISLAND!!!" "WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!" "NO DON'T GO IN THE HATCH!!!!". If it was the tailies, they'd be like "ok, there's a hatch... now what?" That this could be one giant social experiment looks likely in light of this. You give the haves and the have nots the same situation and see how they deal with it. There are certain class issues being addressed on the show that I don't think we've even explored. When you look at it, Boone, Shannon, Hurley, Jack, Sun - rich people. Sayid, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Jin - not so much.

Worst 2-Hour or More NITRO or RAW...

http://otherarena.com/htm/cgi-bin/history....000/nitro041700 Actually, pretty much every show from this period of time. Proof positive that Russo doesn't know a single thing about wrestling other than knowing how to make it bad. -
I thought it was kinda funny how the hatch on the main side had all this melodrama attached to it - Locke breaking down, Boone dying, Jack, Hurley and Kate... while they find a door and are like "hey, a door".

Bernard could be been on his way back when the plane shook and grabbed on to something.

There is way too much that was in this episode to discuss. - If the Others just took the good, what does that say about guys like Jack, Locke, Rose, etc? - The Bible and the Glass Eye. Significance? - The others took people who were good - why? - One side has a psychiatrist and the other side has a medical doctor. Coincidence? - One side gets everything they need to survive (Food, Medicine), the otherside doesn't. - Maybe the reason why the others didn't start taking people from the main beach is because Ethan didn't have enough time getting to know everyones names and whether or not they were good. Maybe the reason why the others took Walt was because they only had enough information to know that they wanted Walt.

Eddie was roided up back in 1993 when he wrestled in New Japan along with Benoit. I'm not saying Vince started his problem or is the primary factor for getting Eddie fucked up. I dunno if I ever said he was directly responsible for Eddies death, even. I have said that in general the guy should take a large responsibility when things like this (steroid and drug related deaths) happen. Did Guerrero use steroids to get bigger because he knew small guys would not make it in the big American promotions, which is the message mainly the WWE has spread? Maybe. Who knows? Maybe he was insecure about his body. Maybe he did it to look good. There could be plenty of reasons why Eddie himself took steroids. I think the more important question is did Guerrero stay on the road even when he knew he should have taken a break in fear of his spot being taken? Are WWE wrestlers encouraged to take time off by head office and reassured that there will be a place for them when they come back? I don't think so. When they fire Test when he's recovering from surgery and fire Dawn Marie when she gets pregnant, the message they send to their employees is "don't stop". Who knows what could have happened if Eddie took a break, or saw a doctor.

Well, FOX probably offered him a good deal of money - he went to help out Tim Minear's The Inside and now I believe is working on 24, which are both on FOX. I also kinda get the feeling that Fury didn't like working there, as he seemed frustrated by the other writers on the show.

Yeah, even though they made her less-hatable, I still want to see Sayid put a bullet in her. Freakin Awesome episode.

So far this episode is AWESOME.

Brets a lil slower now because of the stroke, which is understandable. But as a 48 year old wrestler, Bret looked _fantastic_.

The first time I noticed the correlation between roids and push was Hunter back in 1999. I wasn't even on the internet back then, but I still noticed that Hunter was getting bigger and then got a push.

MMA and Pro Wrestling, in this case, are way different. PRIDE is criticized for putting Sakuraba in so many matches when it's clear the guy shouldn't be fighting anymore. I agree with that. To say that PRIDE encourages the use of steroids by who they push and promotes drug use through a harsh schedule like the WWE shows a clear lack of understanding of the issue at hand. An MMA fighter doesn't do steroids because he feels the only way he can get a "push" is to look big and muscular. An MMA fighter doesn't do drugs to get through the next fight. There are cases -Mark Kerr for example- of this happening, but (a)They are much much much much fewer than in professional wrestling and (b) I wouldn't put the blame on Dana White or Sakikabara, because if you look at who their top stars are, nothing suggests that they favour big roided up guys. Pushes in both UFC and PRIDE are dependant mainly on performances, whereas in the WWE its more on look. I don't blame Vince for everything. My feelings on Vince in regards to this issue can be best explained by what I wrote in HTQs blog the other day... My little promo was an example of how the WWE operates. It's no coincidence that guys bulk up while getting a big push. Vince doesn't outright say "Take steroids", but he does push big guys who do take steroids over the lil guys who don't, so guess what? That's what he's essentially saying.

Not as much as I love sweaty russian men in a sauna. -
WWE was cashing in on Eddie Guerrero from moment one. How many hits do you think their website has gotten in the last few days? But what they're doing with the Tshirts is a good thing if all the money is going towards Eddies family.
-
HHH is family, so he isn't seen as a regular wrestler by the McMahons. If he had health conditions, they'd care and get involved. As is, aside from the steroids, there really isn't anything to worry about with HHH. If Kurt Angle died, and the reasons why he died got out to the national press, there could be a potential firestorm. Angle was a legit athlete, not a sideshow freak. He was a top athlete, and if pro wrestling drove him to use drugs and put him in such bad physical condition, then maybe the underbelly of professional wrestling will get explored. What turned this top athlete into a mess of a human being? With Eddie Guerrero it was "his past coming up to haunt him", with Angle, this is very much the way he is today.
-
Angle is an olympic gold medalist - so that puts him above Eddie and 99.9% of wrestling stars when it comes to national media. Angle is a big star. And Angle sure as shit is the most fucked up wrestler they have. His body is deteriorating and he has to be on every drug known to man to just be able to walk. And given his nature, he won't stop till he's dead.
-
I I I don't know what else to say. This is not just an Angle. Him dying wouldn't be gold.
-
I should be more clear in my hints... YOU (guys) SUCK.
-
You guys suck.
-
It actually took me a few seconds to think of who they'd be talking about. ... there's not many top stars in the WWE anymore... But if he died, MAN, thems would be some ratings.
