    - RRR, after last weeks RR As a fan, I would love to see more emphasis put on SmackDown’s cruiserweight division. There’s lots of talented athletes in that weight class. - JR *sniff* Thanks Jim. Welcome home.

Agreed. Yelling at someone like Ashley, who is new and not used to the WWE environment, would only create more problems. You have to coddle them, you see, because they are weak-minded and very fragile.

Somehow I don't think he cared about the quality of wrestling, but rather, they didn't hit the spots he wanted them to so he got angry. I don't think the WWE is ever hard on their women, well, in the critical way, at least.

My mind can't fathom a private educational system for all. So, for families who can't pay, they go to.. where? Schools that are sponsored by corporations? "This math lesson was brought to you today by COKE. 1 coke + 1 mouth = 2 delicious."

ANOTHER Interpol reference, this time a very direct one saying their new album is a lil less Joy Division than their previous one. CHRISTOPHER!! AWESOME! I was just thinking yesterday, "Hey, when was the last time Christopher appeared in an episode?" and BOOYUH! There he is. Oh DISS, Rory just set C-note straight. DAMN.

David Loiseau vs. Evan Tanner is an awesome fight. Bonnar vs. Anyone is good. Koscheck vs. Fickett, Dewees vs. Leben.. well, that's probably all they'd show for 2 hours. Solid card, with a great headliner.

Eps 5.5 "I'll forge that for ya" "Thanks!" This show is so good to me. This episode is ridiculously quotable. "THIS is a PARTY VEST" "Never once did we go some place where Richard had to dress up like that gay man who was almost eaten by his tiger" (about the party vest) "YEAH! I WON! IN YOUR FACE! IN YOUR FACE! I HAMMERED YOU!" - Luke to Dean after winning a game of Bop-it.

I... I... I dunno if I can watch this show anymore. Whorey Gilwhore slutting it up with Dean is too much. Oh, and Lane liking the dude in her band is so not cool. The great part about them was that they were platonic. Why must Lane bring suck with her everywhere she goes? **Update** Ok, Lane has nice legs. She does something well - wear a skirt. Bravo. **Update** "I don't want to be town-selectman!" - Jackson *dead silence* "Finally, an honest man" - some voice in the crowd "YAAAAAY! JACKSON! JACKSON! JACKSON!" - crowd ...classic. And they are now playing Interpol in the background.

    The Ultimate Fighter 2

Hughes being a dick is the highlight, thus far, of the season. Like, in his pre-fight interviews, it just seemed like confidence. Stuff like "After he's been in there for a round with me, he will go back to his corner and realize he's made a mistake" and "who wants to lose to a Canadian" and "If the division needs someone who talks alot and never wins and that no one likes, then Frank Trigg fits that role perfectly" (God, Hughes cuts the best promos!) But now, the guy just doesn't give a fuck about you. He is the king-dick. Franklin just can't compete on that level.

I love UWF-i. Sorry, just felt like saying that. They will bring Puder in as the "UFP" - the Ultimate Fighting Puder. He will lose to Big Vis his first night in after pulling guard and in a horrific display of vulgarity, Vis will stay in guard with a big smile on his face.

Some Absolutely Insane Rumours from InsideFighting

http://www.insidefighting.com/betweenRound...p.aspx?uid=2232 It’s the UFC event that people aren’t supposed to know about, not yet at least. On October 3, Zuffa will hold its second live UFC event on Spike TV in Las Vegas, Nevada, most likely at the Cox Pavilion since the reported host is the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel. The fights are signed. The fighters are training. But nobody’s talking, not on the record, at least. Exactly why Zuffa feels compelled to keep the event shrouded in mystery with exactly one month to go is unknown at this point. But that is hardly the only question surrounding the Monday night event. What inspired Zuffa to schedule a card on such short notice? There were no whispers or rumblings of a Monday night event until the last few days. And the card’s main event, Evan Tanner versus David Loiseau, was set for UFC 55 as soon as a week ago. When InsideFighting spoke to Tanner and Loiseau earlier in the week, both of them mentioned UFC 55 as the date for their fistic encounter. Oh yes, the fight card. In addition to Tanner-Loiseau, the card features two TUF Season One fighters taking major steps up in class as Stephan Bonnar faces the brutally tough James Irvin in a light heavyweight bout and Josh Koscheck faces ground specialist Drew Fickett. The card also will mark the arrival of highly touted heavyweight prospect Brandon Vera in the UFC, something hardcore fans will great with tremendous interest. According to our sources, the full fight card includes the following bouts (and possibly two more): Stephan Bonnar versus James Irvin Josh Koscheck versus Drew Fickett Chris Leben versus Edwin Dewees Pierre Guillet versus Spencer Fisher Brandon Vera versus Fabiano “Pegaleve” Scherner Brock Larsen versus Thiago Alves Zuffa President Dana White was unavailable for comment on Saturday evening, so the matchups remain unofficial, although more than one source involved with putting the ink to the bout agreements listed the fights for InsideFighting. Okay, back to the questions. What is the purpose of having an event in Las Vegas four days before UFC 55, which is all the way across the country at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut? Granted, it will serve as tremendous marketing for the Friday night pay per view, but is also the question of saturating the market. Although that is certainly a risk that this writer feels is acceptable. Why Monday night and not Friday or Saturday night? The obvious answer is that Spike dictated the time of the event, probably in retaliation to the WWE RAW debuting on USA Network on precisely the same day. This could be an attempt by Spike to retain some of the viewers who it fears will follow the WWE to USA, possibly hurting the ratings for The Ultimate Fighter, one of Spike TV’s golden eggs. Zuffa will undoubtedly answer the above-mentioned questions and more in the coming days. For now, fans can begin salivating over a card that is absolutely exquisite for something created so quickly – hats off to UFC matchmaker Joe Silva, who truly earned his keep with this one, unofficially, of course, because once again, nobody is talking. --Franklin’s first title defense, the return of the Muscle Shark, more unconfirmed UFC fights It looks like Nate Quarry will be the first fighter from TUF Season One to receive a title shot he appears to be the man chosen for Rich Franklin’s first UFC Middleweight Championship defense at UFC 56 in November. At first blush, many may question Quarry’s legitimacy as title challenger. After all, the reality-show veteran has yet to face or defeat a top-rated middleweight in his brief UFC career. Consecutive wins inside the distance over Lodune Sincaid, Shonie Carter, and Pete Sell is impressive, but hardly number-one-contender material. Nevertheless, the fight makes perfect sense from a business perspective. Quarry is arguably the best known name in the division after his exposure on Spike TV. So why not toss him to Rich Franklin? Not only does it leverage Quarry’s marketability among the casual fans who watch the UFC solely because of TUF thus creating heightened interest among the masses for UFC 56, but it also gives Franklin a showcase-type matchup after his tenure as a coach on TUF Season Two. There is no question that Franklin will open as a tremendous betting favorite over Quarry, a fighter he should be able to beat. But the fight could be extremely fan-friendly, as Quarry will likely stand and bang with the champ. And that is just as important for Zuffa properly capitalizing on Franklin’s new-found TUF fame as giving him a legitimate number-one contender from a pure business standpoint. A loss to any fellow 185-lb contender basically crushes his marketability, so risking him against an unknown contender makes little sense. Yet, a loss in a championship fight might not hurt him at all if he is competitive at any level. If so, it also lends some much-needed street cred to the TUF fighters, another win for Zuffa. Even if he gets blown out, it doesn't hurt the allure of the reality show because one of its stars just lost to the best in the business. And if the stars lined up perfectly and he was able to snatch victory from the air, then things get very interesting for the UFC's new television marketing machine on Monday nights. What is more interesting than Franklin-Quarry is the unconfirmed news that Sean Sherk will make his UFC return in November against Georges St. Pierre. It’s been two-and-a-half years since Sherk last fought in the Octagon, a loss to Matt Hughes at UFC 42. Since that time, Sherk is undefeated in 11 fights, but he hasn’t fought since last November. After a brief retirement, Sherk hired top MMA manager Monte Cox to resurrect his career. Cox did just that by landing Sherk a return to the UFC against the division heir apparent, again assuming Zuffa formally announces the fight. A win over St. Pierre would all but guarantee a title shot for the fighter known as the “Muscle Shark.” A loss could mean a quick trip back on the UFC exile list, but for a man struggling to get top fights, that is certainly an acceptable risk. Other bouts said to be signed, sealed and delivered for UFC 56 include Jeremy Horn versus Mike Van Arsdale, Matt Hughes versus Karo Parisyan, and Tim Sylvia versus Assuerio Silva. Again, Dana White was unavailable for comment and other Zuffa officials failed to comment on the above-mentioned fights. Nevertheless, October and November are shaping up to be two more unbelievable months for stateside mixed martial arts!

    The Ultimate Fighter 2

Honestly. SPIKE should have just cut it off at 11:08. Fuck, SPIKE not only gave the WWE 5 minutes of extra time, but then 8. Now the WWE takes, what, nearly 15 minutes of time? (I stopped watching cause up here TUF was on SPIKETV while Raw was on TSN). I liked how they were getting more into the training aspects of the fight, with Rich rolling around with the big guy.

OAO Spike and UFC vs. USA and WWE thread

The UFC has still managed to pick up more amount of wrestling fans than anything else that SPIKE has put on after it. There is no way that they can retain 100% of the audience, simply because of the fact that it finishes at midnight and most WWE fans are either too young or too old to stay up that late. The fact that they pick up around 50% of the audience is pretty impressive. The "logic" behind the decision is that if a fan turns on to see two guys really beating the shit out of each other, why would they turn the channel to see two guys pretending to beat the shit out of each other? While airing TNA at that time wouldn't be a bad idea either, and that airing a UFC show is a bit of a risk, I think the rewards would be greater with the UFC. If someone turns to see a pro wrestling program, that pro wrestling program better be damn good if it is to compete with the WWE (not saying that RAW is damn good, because it isn't. It's just RAW is more familiar and "trusted" pro wrestling product.) Meanwhile, UFC doesn't have to compete on a pro wrestling level with pro wrestling fans - all it has to do is be really fucking exciting and fresh, and the UFC's track record on that is very good. Lots of MMA fans are or were pro wrestling fans, so its not like it's an entirely different product. It does, however, offer a heightened experience than pro wrestling does, because it's real. SPIKE knows they can get a 1.8 audience to watch the UFC on its own, now the test is to see if they will watch the UFC over the WWE. If the people who have watched the last two Ultimate Fight Nights see Stephan Bonnar in the octagon, I think they'll stay with SPIKE simply because Bonnar delivers like nobody else.

    The Ultimate Fighter 2

Forrest manages to stay respectable... --- The third episode includes a heavyweight challenge and fight. The house meanwhile, is a mess. Damn that green team, they’re such slobs. We get a nice close-up of some roaches, which is sure to bring the female viewer ship way up. Luke Skywalker is catching some sun rays and making Diego proud. Luke is also a big Kung Fu fan and believes in fist conditioning. Sorry Luke but I'm not impressed unless you move the pillow and just punch the rock. Our hero from the last episode has a broken arm and is sent to the farm. The funny thing is that Josh and Melvin are now in the same house again. With all these injuries, I think we should post the x-rays. Josh, I guess Dana was right about picking Melvin to fight. No worries though, you’re my favorite so far, and you came off looking good--not to mention tough. Rob suffers a torn labrum and explains his pain to Merciless Matt Hughes. Did I mention Rob hurt his shoulder? Ok, just making sure. The right guard challenge is treading water…oh wait, that could be bad for Rob's shoulder. We all now know that Rashad’s weakness is swimming. I challenge him to a swimming pool fight. Good challenge because we all know how important swimming is to fighting. Jason Von Flue comes in to replace Josh and is promptly accepted by everyone…well, except Jorge, his coach, and well, everyone else. At first it didn't look like Matt could break Jason but in the end he did and I'm not really sure why. It seemed that Matt could have used his fresh man in the next fight because everyone else was so beat-up. Back to the fight, Rob chose to fight Big Brad Imes. Wait Rob, tell me about your shoulder first. And also, if you could accept losing before you even fight that would be great, too. Is Rob's name actually Ronald McDonald? Wow, that's funny. Sorry, but now we know how you got started to fight. The fight was a good one and very active for big men. I'm not sure how Rob threw a guy as big as Brad down, but he did. A little too much north south position, but a good fight nonetheless. Rob, choke him with your bad shoulder, great idea. It looked like Rich worked on the right things with Brad because his ground looked good. Brad pulled out the 5K triangle. But what really happened was that Rob lost because he was afraid of what would happen to his shoulder if he won and the ref held his hand up. All and all pretty good, minus the roaches.

    The Ultimate Fighter 2

Ok, Stephan Bonnar is now officially a deity. ---- We are on to episode 3, Heavyweight fight time. The drama picks up where the last fight left off. Again, Dana says that it was a dumb move to pick Melvin to fight and tells Josh that he could have gotten injured in the fight despite the win...Could it be a little foreshadowing? Back at the house, the guys are complaining that the green team is a bunch of Diego and Sams (pigs) that don't pick up after themselves. The blue team is cleaning up for them and it only enables this kind of behavior. Teach them a lesson. On TUF 1, we would take the person's dirty dishes and put them in their bed. I'll never forget when Swick did this to Sam. Sam went to lie in bed and put his head in a half eaten plate of spaghetti. Atkins my ass Sam! Luke is busy doing his power chi. Scared of being mutilated, eaten, and having their skin made into lampshades, Luke's teammates accept his weirdness. Now comes some more bad news. Josh's arm is broken. Let's give some credit to Melvin for that kick! Injuries are plaguing this season. Let's hope this is the last one. Both teams pull for Josh and beg Dana to let him stay. After all, Nate Quarry got to stay on after his injury. Unfortunately, Josh just didn't have all of those memorable, tear-jerking, Lifetime Original Movie moments like Nate did. Josh is sent packing and doesn't even shed a tear. Have you not learned anything from Quarry? Back at the house, Rob seems to be engaging in perpetual conversations about his injured shoulder not just to his teammates, but to everyone. "In case we fight, just remember my shoulder is really messed up." Everyone just seems sick of hearing about it. It’s Heavyweight challenge time. It is now time to see who will become…"The Ultimate Dog-Paddler." Rashad can't hold on and is forced to let go at the 2 minute mark. Team Hughes wins once again. Rob "Hey everyone, my shoulder is injured" McCullogh decides to fight Brad Imes. He does promise not to kick Brad's bad knee, hoping Brad will promise not to attack his shoulder...but it doesn't work. Jason Von Flue is the new welterweight that takes Josh's place. Jorge takes one look at the new guy sporting the same facial hair, and his eyes fill with hatred and disdain. Jorge tags him as "a party guy who likes to pick on people." Jorge vows to take him out, and that night he had comforting dreams of how he was going to permanently maim and cripple Jason. At the gym, it's Jason's turn to get broken down by Matt Hughes. Jason has to go through the most punishing workout ever. He runs, lifts, drills, pukes, runs, lifts, pukes, lifts, collapses, bikes, pukes, and lifts some more. Matt looks upset and says "he has no heart." Only to perpetuate Matt's disgust, Rob has a private meeting with him. He tells Matt, "I don't want anyone to know about my shoulder. If I lose there are no excuses about my shoulder." Don't you think it's a little late for that? He asks Matt to help him through it. Matt explains how he has fought with 3 broken arms before and tells him to suck it up. Rob sucks it up and decides to enter the octagon. He scared me for a second calling that meeting with Matt. I thought he might back out. Way to tough it out. In the fight Rob lands a quick takedown, knocking Brad's cowboy hat completely off. Rob lands a little ground and pound but needs a fire extinguisher/baseball bat to do any real damage. Brad uses his defensive guard well. They end up in a few north/south positions...not 69 dammit! Don't call it 69. They're not gay, they're fighting! Rob goes for a guillotine, but Brad escapes. Rob gets top position, then...Hey, look out for the triangle....the triangle! the damn triangle!! Rob is thinking, what the hell is a triangle...Oh yeah! It's that funny looking jiu-jitsu move where the guy uses his legs to...Oh, tap tap tap. End of fight, Brad is victorious. Back in the dressing room, Rob's labrum completely tore from his shoulder and rolled down into his biceps. Matt Hughes, disgusted to the point of becoming nauseous can't even look at Rob. Matt then goes on to say how Brad is lacking in heart, and is only comforted by knowing he won't have to see any more of Rob. Personally, I got to give Rob some credit. That's a bad injury to have and he still went out there and fought till it tore completely. I still think that he was a little quick to tap though, and a little slow in defending the triangle.
