WEC was like watching professional sports while EXC was like watching a beer league. Watching guys stumble over themselves and each other is fun, just a different kind of fun than well trained, highly regarded, athletes battling it out in a competitive match. Both entertaining in their own ways. Though I was jumping up and down during the 135 bout. That shit was super-dope. As super-dope as a Kimbo sweep? Well...

Oh and Kimbo vs. Jamesie was such an awesome fight. Kimbo sweeping Thompson was ridiculous. As for his viability as a competitive fighter... what's Zulu doin right now?

Gus going on about hip escapes was classic. I didn't see the show, only caught Gina/Young, Baroni/Villa, Kimbo/James. The chick fight was really good, but a bad stoppage, and the 3 minute rounds hurt it abit as they were having a nice back and forth goin there. Gina's boxing and fat-enhanced power really overwhelmed Young, plus it's easy to forget that Gina is actually a good fighter underneath the fame, hotness, and fat. If Kaitlin was a dude they would have never thought to stop it, but I guess they can't risk having a girl look too beat up on national television. So progressive, this EXC. The Kimbo stoppage was aight, but what I call shenanigans on is it not being stopped earlier when James had Kimbo in beatdown position and landed like a dozen unanswered elbows. Also, it getting stood up when James had side was bullshit as well. Both these factors in conjunction with the early stoppage should make it clear where the favouritism lay. Dana is going to have a field day with this stuff. The commentary was a million times better than before. Which doesn't say much given how bad it was before, but it still says something.

Man, the corner commentary during Amir/Brown is tremendous if you listen to it thinking they are yelling advice to a porn actor during a scene. "Head position!" "THAT JUST HAPPENED!" is also bomb. Infact, the whole episode was great. If I could stay up late enough I'd totally watch this season regularly. The hot tub sequence was tops. Oh and slowest triangle choke ever.

If there was something more to it than "Bobby Lashley signs with retard MMA promotion", then it could warrant a thread. Like, if there was a date, an opponent, etc. Right now it's all "Hey, isn't Lashley a big roided up black guy? How is THAT gonna work?".

"Weight" is such a subjective concept. Really, unless we're on a planet with no gravity - WHICH WE ARE NOT - then everyone weighs something. All Gina did was make her weight. Who are any of us to tell her to weigh differently? Who are the Athletic Commissions? That's pre-9/11 thinking. It's post 9/11 people, we need to start recognizing reality here.

The finale of Angel was tremendous and fitting. Where Buffy was able to defeat the first and save the day, Angel was more about the struggle where the victory is in fighting, not in the outcome. I am not a huge fan of the premise of Dollhouse. It doesn't seem to have any sort of legs to it. I'd say it is more fitting for a film than a series. I'll echo the sentiments of others in saying Eliza is a poor choice for a lead. The scene with the bride gives me some hope, though. I wish Whedon would just give Fox Firefly and hope they forgot that they canceled it, so we could get 11 more episodes of it.

That's because there really are no implications to any of the matches. Smith vs. Lawler for who cracks through the top 20? The dream match of Kimbo vs. Jamesie? Can Gina Carano make weight? There's nothing to be excited about.

BJ is tough and his face doesn't show damage. However, Sherk isn't known as a power puncher and most of what he threw were quick shots with little follow-through. Sherk was quick to retract his punches and that took some of the power away from them. They may not have rocked BJ, but they got him thinking and he strayed from the brawling style in the first round to a more technical, pick-your-shots style in the second and third. He found his range and used his jab a lot more, though I would have liked to have seen him mix it up more. The few kicks and body shots he threw landed. However, he got Sherk thinking hands which is why he won with a knee. How can anyone hate Keith Jardine? He's one ugly motherfucker, but he's not one to talk trash and seems like an fairly decent, soft-spoken, individual. He's not my favourite fighter, but while I was happy as fuck to see Wandy win, I was at the same time sad to see Jardine lose. I don't see why Tito should retire, Lyoto has a style that makes everyone look bad. His ring awareness is sharp, so he never gets cornered and always circles away when he feels a guy is about to attack. Excellent timing both defensively and offensively. It's hard to think of anybody who can crack his style, as they'd practically have to chase after him and burn up a lot of cardio in doing so. Lyoto shifting Titos weight in the clinch as he threw him aside was superdope.

I like watching Lyoto fight. He is very fluid and is able to get in and out faster than just about anyone in the sport. It's cliche, but his evasion is quite good as he is always out of range and had Tito whiffing all night. BJ looked really good last night. I was very impressed with the way he changed on the fly and adapted to what Sherk was bringing. He improved as the fight went on, which is a huge plus for Penn. I freaked when Wandy won. Sokoudjou looked bad, to me. He caught Nak with the same right high kick/right cross combo that he caught Rogerio. Till then Nak was winning the fight and pressing the action beyond Soks leg kicks. Thaigo Silva is a slow starter, but he survived a brutal head kick and showed some vicious gnp. A good fight for him, hopefully he sees the areas he needs to improve in. Palhares jj made me rub my nipples. Sweet ass armbar.
