This works better seeing and hearing it, but... LORELAI: Aunt Bobby, hi. It's Lorelai, Richard and Emily's girl. Um, I'm the one with. . . yeah, that's right. Wow, you don't hear the word wedlock much anymore. RORY: I'm home! LORELAI: Uh huh, uh huh, really? The Bible said all that, huh? Did it, did it mention me by name? I'm just. . .okay, I'm just kidding. So, um, judging by your Billy Graham impression, I am guessing that you didn't send me an ice cream maker, so maybe you could just give me Aunt Clarissa's phone number? Oh no, I hadn't heard. That's terrible. Uh huh. Well, then I guess she had it coming, didn't she? Hey, listen, I'd love to chat about who else is the family is currently or soon to be headed for hell, but I've gotta run, so I promise to call in the next twenty years, okay? Bye bye. [hangs up] How scary is it that my parents are turning our to be the normal ones in the family? RORY: No luck? LORELAI: Well, I still have the, uh, Pennsylvania Gilmores, but how was your day? RORY: I have to perform Act Five of Romeo and Juliet with Paris, Madeline, and Louise. LORELAI: Really? RORY: Paris has appointed herself as director. LORELAI: Nice. What part are you playing? RORY: I don't know yet. She's still mulling over the screen tests right now. We're gonna find out tomorrow. LORELAI: Screen tests? RORY: 24 takes. LORELAI: Ah, I so want a copy. RORY: Forget it. LORELAI: Sell it on the Internet, make a fortune. First we brought you Pamela and Tommy Lee, now prepare yourselves for the crazy antics of Rory and the Bard! RORY: Oh, and I told Paris that you would make all of our costumes so she wants to have a concept meeting with you tomorrow at three. LORELAI: What? RORY: Yeah, she needs a resume and samples of your previous work and, uh, referrals. LORELAI: And my bare BUTT to kiss. RORY: If you think that will set you apart from the other applicants, yes. Hey, I didn't know that there was someone in our family named Bunny. LORELAI: Oh, cross her off the list. RORY: Poor Bunny.

Do you like WWE.com's new approach?
RavishingRickRudo replied to Exslade ZX's topic in The WWE Folder
Um. What the fuck are you talking about? All they are doing is damage control to popular internet topics so it looks they they have control over the situation. It's still a very much "work" oriented website. -
Jim Cornette on thin ice. Again
RavishingRickRudo replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I wouldn't call this a "minor" incident. In ANY workplace, if your boss slaps you 15 times as punishment, he'd be LUCKY with just getting fired, because that is assault. -
"Poor Bunny" is entrenched in my lexicon. I had to go to TV.com to see what episode it was, so I'm are not quite there yet... yet. Not to get all wrestley, but Jess took a nice bump falling into the water. I also liked the scene where Jess sass-talks Lorelai, and we get to see Mrs. Gilmore get nastay *snap snap snap* I started watching the episodes again, because I figure 3 or 4 weeks is a good buffer and I don't want to Firefly it in terms of overexposure. I think the first episode in the second season is a tremendous "introductory" episode. It has the right amount of humour, gets most of the character spots in, and has one of my favourite scenes (when the grandmother tells Richard to apologize to Rory after finding out Lorelai got engaged). It provides some nice exposition on some of the characters without being forced, and the more scenes with Michel in it, the better. And I like it when all the townsfolk gather around to see Lorelai tell Luke and Kirk faints.

Lost fans are called "Losties" ... this is bad news.
-
Was it Luke pushing Jess into the water? If so, that's one of my all time faves. At the time, I was like "aw, this is kind of a nice moment - them walking side-by-side and all..." and then Luke becomes GOD.

--Spike TV has added more UFC programming in August besides what has already been mentioned. On 8/20, as a Sunday Night Heat version of UFC, they have UFC on from 7 to 9 p.m. Eastern time as a lead in to the PPV that starts at 10 p.m. Of course, on the West Coast, they compete with themselves. On 8/21, they will have another all day UFC marathon to build for the 8/22 premiere of Ultimate Fighter 2. It will start at 2 p.m. on 8/21 with every episode of season one of UFC airing from 2-7 p.m. Heat will air in its regular slot at 7 p.m., followed by four more hours of UFC taped programming from 8 p.m. to midnight. - Da Meltz

They probably had different contracts written up post 2000, so maybe they can't fire some guys who are still under the old system... which means... FUNAKI MAY BE SAFE~!!
-
I fear for Funaki. Though, really, if you said back in 1998 that Sho Funaki would last 7 years in the WWE, I would have said you were nuts. Kenzo??? KENZO??? NOOOOOO!!!! FUCK YOU VINCE! YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR! He has more charisma in his eye brows than 99% of the roster have in their entire body!!
-
They are independent contractors. When their services are no longer needed, bye-bye. I don't think companies need reasons for lay-offs.
-
Dawn Marie happens to quit while the WWE goes on a firing spree. Quit being stupid. They fired a pregnant woman; they have no class - nothing new. I imagine they fired Spike because of the TV deal.

The machines were underground for _at least_ 300 years. That means the aliens have known about earth for at least 300 years. In 300 years, you would think that MAYBE one of the aliens would spend some time on the planet - collect samples of the earth, air, food, etc. - and judge whether or not the planet was suitable for living. Afterall, these aliens are capable of intergalactic travel - something we are centuries away from - so should be smart enough to think of something so simple.

Considering that Benoit was contending for the world title last week, and now is contending for the US title, what do you suppose that makes him? Clearly, someone who settles for less. Lazy booking.
-
He needs to come down wearing a rainbow coloured jacket and a sideways neon green ballcap.
-
Wow, poor Benoit.
-
Yeah, he lacks the impact. But one has to wonder how he would do in the UFC during his (and their) early days. I know that potential isn't enough, but the guy won 5 or 6 tournaments in 2 years and was probably one of the best (or at least most effective) strikers in the world for a long period of time. He has been very prolific in PRIDE. Next to Shoji and Silva, he's probably been in the most events. I don't think he should get in, but I think he's worth some consideration and debate.
-
And he will be wearing a bowler hat. Big Meanie Busick!
-
YES! FUCK YES! FINALLY! JEEESUS ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!!! THANK YOU VINCE!!
-
Cocky HBK will eventually get cheered, though. Especially against Hogan. Fans cheer a fun-loving HBK, so the heel version needs to be serious and focused. The promos will suck, but it meshes better with Hogan. Shawn saying "And we're out!" was fantastic, btw. I enjoyed his promo tonight, the "i don't give a fuck, I'm over" promo.
-
I liked the look Shawn had on his face after the superkick. It was like he almost regretted doing it, but he had to do it, so he did it. I'd rather this be a serious feud, as they can go into some deep issues, rather than a crotch-chopping generations clash.
-
Oh god. We're gonna have to take a month of Kerwin love? Snitsky, Vis... JUST STOP! DON'T ENCOURAGE IT!! STOP LIKING BAD GIMMICKS!!
-
Vovchanchyn was a bit of a question mark for me as well. He did very well in NHB tournaments, perhaps one of the most successful fighters in the more "unrefined" time in MMA history, despite not facing top competition. Certainly one of the more popular and likable fighters in PRIDE's early days.
-
How many can you have?? BJ Penn and Fedor are interesting picks. I am assuming it's based on quality of fighter rather than "other".
-
Good: Cena/Jericho promo* TITTIES TITTIES TITTIES!!** Shawn/Hogan Bad: Everything else *Cena should have taken a step further in talking about how Jericho is nothing now and all of his accomplishments are years ago. He overused the word "cheap". Y2Cheap? Cheap-sauce? Bad. He just should have said "Y2K was 5 years ago man!". Ah well, Jericho is on job-duty for Summerslam... hopefully it's Summerslam... **Pasties?! Gah!

Brian Gewirtz leaves WWE writing team
RavishingRickRudo replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I think Russo overestimates his worth to professional wrestling, but why would he lay claim to that? Of all things to take credit for, I don't think it would be worth lying about. ...this has to be one of the most worthless topics on this board...
