Manny Fernandez has been cleared to return. I'm almost hoping for him in the net against the Habs on thursday. He can't be any worse than Thomas this season (0-3, 4.94/.866). Gotta try something to beat the fucking Habs. I don't want to go 0-8 against them this year.

With regards to the Emery buyout, since he's under 26 the buy-out number would be 1/3 of the salary. If they cut him after his 26th birthday, it would be 2/3. http://www.nhlscap.com/cap_faq.htm#buyouts

Sandwiches today. Diet be damned. Lunch: Roast beef sandwich from the local grocery store. Half gallon of iced tea. Dinner: Steak, onion, peppers, mushrooms and provolone on french bread. Another half gallon of iced tea.

Bruins go up 3 points on Philly with the SOL to the Caps.

Philly started that 3-on-3 with 2F/1D but Murray almost ended it. It looked like they tried to get a last second line change before that faceoff, but the officials wouldn't let them since the Bruins had already made their change. Great game this afternoon though.

It's what happens when Joe Thornton is on your team.

Do all the blood vessels in your eyes burst when you vomit?
the max replied to Mik's topic in No Holds Barred
Same thing happens to me. A few years ago, I had an allergic reaction to a painkiller. I threw up so hard that every blood vessel around my eyes, forehead and cheeks burst. Plus, the whites of my eyes turned blood red and stayed like that for about three days. -
Here comes the Bruins: Oh no! No offense? Injured Chara? Tired Thomas and Overwhelmed Auld? Wait! Those wheels were firmly attached at the trade deadline! Bruins have probably the biggest game of the season on saturday against the Flyers. Win, and distance themselves even further, protecting 7th. Lose, and they're in 8th, just a few Montreal wins of having to play the Habs in the first round of the playoffs. I'm going to go drown myself in the shower.

I hope the rumors of Hossa being most interested in signing with Boston are true. They need an offensive player, badly. Sobotka is the best Bruins forward tonight. He has a whopping 4 points on the season. Sturm, Murray, Kobasew, et all, are invisible as usual. The powerplay can't even set up in Ottawa's zone. It's just pathetic, this offense.

It was certainly interesting. Brashear got a double minor for high-sticking Krejci. The high stick woke up Hnidy, who came after Brashear and got a solid left in the face for his troubles. This gave Brashear six minutes in penalties. Then, Erskin got jobbed on a hooking call which setup the first 5-on-3. Chara scored and Washington thought that Erskin would get out. But since Brashear got the double minor AND the minor for roughing, the refs determined that the roughing against Brashear expired with Chara's goal, so it was still 5-on-3. They killed the rest of the Erskin penalty, then Poti slashed Murray's stick to set up another 5-on-3 that Sturm scored the winner on. It was a wild beginning to the game and a wild end. Edit: Now Chara is out against the Rags. He separated his shoulder in the second period but still came out and led the team to a big win. Tomorrow's defensive lineup for YOUR Boston Bruins: Wideman, Ference, Stuart, Hnidy, Allen and Lashoff... ... This could be a loooong game.
-
Thank you Donald Brashear for being a retard. Bruins win 2-1 on two 5-on-3 goals late in the third and retake 6th in the conference. They're at the Rags tomorrow, hopefully they can put some distance between them.

I have a feeling that the Bruins practice isn't going to be a smiley affair tomorrow.
-
Ask and ye shall receive. 5-1 Leafs after two. Bruins have been outscored 16-3 in three games, and this one's not even over yet.
-
What the fuck. Craig Anderson? Back to back shutouts. Craig Anderson.
-
Ovechkin with a natural hat trick, Washington up 6-0 after 20.

Gill's only real specialties were breaking up passes and pinning guys to the wall. If the Pens are expecting physicality from him, they're going to be very disappointed. I know Jagr basically made Gill's career when he called him the hardest guy for him to play against, but Jagr's a different animal than most in that he's bigger and powerful off the walls, while most of the guys now are just fast. Chara has the same problems laterally that Gill has, the only difference is that Chara has improved his positioning to not be caught out of position like Gill has oh, so many times.

Flyers v. Rags was a very entertaining game. Bruins have five games this week, which will be their true barometer of whether or not they're going to stick around. All of the games are against beatable teams, and three of them are at home. They're 7-0-1 in their last eight and the rumors continue to swirl that Patrice Bergeron could be back for them if they make the playoffs. There's also a slight chance that Manny Fernandez could be back this season. They're currently 6th in the East, with the tiebreaker over the Rags, and only 4 points behind Ottawa.

Bruins 5-1 over the Penguins. Hossa out for 1-2 weeks with a slight MCL sprain.
-
That was probably the best I've seen the Bruins play all season long. 4-0 over Ottawa. Thomas was remarkable at times, but it was the forwards who were the story tonight. David Krejci with his first career goal as well.
-
2001-2003 with Ottawa. 26 points in 30 games. But, I'd be leery of him considering last years 4 games, 1 point, -6 when the Rags swept them.
-
Ah...I read it as Vinny (Lecavalier) taking over for (Brad) Richards. My mistake.
-
Prospal's an LW by trade, but has been known to play center every now and then. Where did you read that Richards is injured? I googled it and got results from earlier this year. And the Bolts haven't played since the Bruins beat them on Saturday.
-
Prospal seems to only perform well with good/great players. He sucked in Anaheim that one year before he came back to Tampa and latched himself onto the Lecavalier/Richards/St. Louis teat. Maybe he can help rejuvenate Briere or something.
-
Flyers also got Vinny Prospal for Picard/conditional pick in 2009. Tampa has also signed Dan Boyle to a 6/40 contract (cap hit of 6.66). Keep your head up in the locker room, Danny.
