I'm getting this odd feeling that Anderson may lose tonight. I'm not too sure how seriously he's taken this fight and was pretty disappointed that he let the Cote fight go to the 3rd round.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Yeah.... what the hell, no Strikeforce: Shamrock v. Diaz thread?? Good show. I never expected Diaz to win the fight with strikes the way he did. Great showing by Nick. I'm not sure how much Frank has left. Fight of the night was Smith/Radach. Awesome! Excited for the June 3rd Lawler v. Sheilds fight. -
Finally got around to seeing Let The Right One In. Outstanding!!

Box Office Report April 3-5

I was surprised to see Adventureland only finish 6th, then I noticed that it was playing on about half as many screens as F&F. -
Loved these last 2 episodes. Idris Elba rules.

That was quite a mauling by Brown. Makes the rematch with Faber that much bigger.

Yeah, the doc portions are my favorite aspect of these dvds. Whenever I re-watch one, I'll usually watch the doc, then a few matches.

I didn't realize the show was returning, or that it was changed to Friday nights until I saw that it was on my DVR. Friday night is where they send shows to die. I would really be pissed about that if this last show wasn't so bad. The "Dawson Creek" style Kyle Reese was really too much for me to handle. Worst episode of the series.

Look at the first half of their careers. Frank Thomas from 1990-1997 was one of the greatest pure hitters of all time. I think Pujols will have a better career, but this is a merit list, not speculative. I'll take Eddie Murray over both of them. Pujols needs to continue putting up the numbers for a few more years.

Wow! That was one funny ass episode. Can't remember the last time I laughed so consistently through a whole show.

Everyone loses eventually in MMA. Fedor will too.

All the times the stop play to review nonsense plays in the final two minutes and they don't stop to review the most important play of the friggin Super Bowl. With that bone head penalty, Arizona would have had the ball at the Pitt 30 for one last play.

I think Rampage deserves a title shot before Machida. He is a former LHW champ who lost his title in a controversial split decision who just KTFO Wanderlei Silva. If he beats Jardine, there should be no one in front of him in the line for a title shot. With that in mind, I think Zuffa has plans for Lyoto/Rashad. Otherwise, why would they have made the meaningless Jardine/Rampage match-up?

Well, GSP/Penn went pretty much as I thought it would. GSP was bigger, stronger and better conditioned. I have no, ZERO interest in an Alves/GSP fight. Give me GSP/Anderson Silva on 4th of July weekend, dammit!!! Oh yeah, and let me be the first to say it: Florian beats Penn. Major league stoked after the Diaz/Guida fight. Both Diaz brothers are masterful on thier backs, but I'm sick of their pitty-pat punches and general douche-bagery. Glad to see one of my fav fighters in Guida get a win over Nate "my name got one judge to give me the fight" Diaz. Congrats to Machida for serving up an entertaining fight, but I fear the prospect of him becoming LHW champ. Rashad GnPing him would be a beautiful thing.

I agree. I really don't see a 3rd show being economically feasible. While it turned out to be a great card, they will take a huge bath with this show. Brock v. Fedor may happen sooner than people think.

That was one of the more sensational endings to a fight that I had ever seen. I thought Arlovski had a real chance to win this fight, and he was winning the first round, then BOOOM. Amazing.

Well helloooo offseason! I would like for my Ravens to acquire a proven WR via FA or trade. Rookie WRs take too long to develop. The draft should be used to reload on D (CB, DE,and LB), and to find Heap's eventual replacement at TE.

I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those old school Super Bowl beatdowns. We're talking a Bears/Patriots, Niners/Broncos kind of Super Bowl beatdown. I think Pitt will win big, but I will be rooting like hell for the Cardinals.

Well, a great season for my boys comes to an end in the worst place possible. The armpit of the rust belt, Pittsburgh. ugh. Pittsburgh had the better Defense and Quarterback today. They deserved the win. 'Guess I get to rock my Pat Tillman jersey in 2 weeks.

For the first time in 19 years one team will play a football game for the 18th straight week. This team will play without their top 2 cornerbacks (Rolle, McAllister) , and starting safety (Landry). If their leading pass rusher (Suggs) even plays, he will do so with one arm. Speaking of playing with one arm, their #1 receiver (Mason) has been doing so since week 10 along with their starting LT (Gaither). Oh yeah, and their QB is a rookie. It's been an amazing season here in Bmore. I had them at 2-14 before the season started. I mean, how in the hell do you make it to the AFC Championship when your third WR currently has 0 career catches?? I have no doubt they they will leave it all on the field tonight against the better, healthier Steelers. This team is all about heart and believing in one another.

UFC 93: Franklin vs. Henderson
imajackoff? replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
While nothing was terrible, I would not give a recommendation to order this PPV. Save your money for next week's Affliction and Penn/St. Pierre in two weeks. -
I enjoyed it. It was simple little character driven movie. Almost over simplistic in some points. At times I got a "made for tv movie" vibe. Still, I cared about all the characters and the story had a fitting conclusion, so its all good with me. 7/10

As far as the delay of game non-call goes, it happens ALL the time. I understand that this instance is magnified because of the situation, but it's common for a team to get a couple of beats after the 00 shows. So let's say a penalty is called. That turns 3rd and 2 into 3rd and 7. They would have had 2 downs to make 7 yds. How can we say without doubt that they would'nt have made that when we just saw them make the 23 yd play to Heap? The pass to Heap took them to the Tenn 45. A false start penalty moved it back to the 50. They then moved an additional 25 yds to move into FG range. So, yeah the non-call was one of the many breaks that the Ravens got, but it did not win the game. The Titans have no one to blame but themselves.

Well, hopefully my Ravens can get out on Nashville without getting arrested because they certainly stole that game. Survive and advance, baby! ...now I'm off to celebrate.

1. The Dark Knight 2. Slumdog Millionaire 3. In Bruges 4. Iron Man 5. Cloverfield 6. The Wrestler 7. Bigger, Stronger, Faster 8. Hellboy II 9. Wanted 10. Kung Fu Panda Kind of a disappointing year for comedies. I had hopes for Tropic Thunder and Sarah Marshall but was underwhelmed by both.
