Wow... they really homered it up with the all-star starting line-ups for the East: 4 Canadians and 2 Penquins. I mean seriously, no Ovechkin in the all star starting line-up?

With Peyton Manning and Colts being kryptonite to my Ravens, I'm glad to see them gone. However, I do think it sucks that the officials factored so heavily into the outcome of the game. I hope that crew is done for the rest of the playoffs. Well, I picked both of saturday's games correctly. Hopefully the Ravens and Vikings can make it a clean sweep this weekend.

Hughes has all the looks of a former champ on a serious decline. If BJ were to beat the best WW in the world, I would have zero interest in seeing him pummel a washed-up Hughes.

Griffin/Rampage 2 just seems unnecessary at this point in time. Rashad/Rampage is the fight I needs to see. I think Griffin should fight Jardine or Liddell next.

Saw it this weekend in Bethesda,MD. Very depressing flick with a great performance by Rourke and a very solid performance by Tomei. Aronofsky did a remarkable job of being true to a the subject matter. I'd give it a 8/10.

Great night of fights. The big 3 all went the way I wanted them to. Rashad v. Rampage would be awesome. Lesnar v. Mir will be interesting just to see how each man has progressed since their first fight.

I liked it a lot. I find myself becoming more of a softy as I get older. I was definitely tearing up at the end.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122611134918910647.html A pretty good WSJ article with some insight from Rahm Emanuel on how the Obama Administration will operate. This may soothe some worries that a liberal majority in Congress will hi-jack Obama's authority for their own agenda:
-
I assume it would go directly to a re-election campaign fund. It will be interesting how 2012 shakes out regarding the finances of an assumed Obama re-election campaign. It will be harder to amass the huge amounts of money in a grassroots manner as the sitting president. I see lots of high dollar fund raising dinners in his future.

I just cried for like 10 minutes straight. I can't believe it happened. What a beautiful time. A clear, palpable moment in which Hope kicked Hate's ass.

Went to the voting station at about 10:30 here in suburban Bmore. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I voted for Obama. This is the 3rd time I've voted in a presidential election, but it's the first time I have voted FOR a candidate instead of against one. It's a damn good feeling.

Thanks for posting this. It was driving me crazy that I couldn't figure that out. I caught up on this show using On Demand the last couple of weekends. Kinda funny that my comcast system doesn't have FXHD, but offer all their shows in HD On Demand. Love the show so far. I also thought that I would hate the pretty boy lead, but it turns out that I like the character.

Yeah, I'm more of a fan of the broader stuff he did like Bananas, Sleeper and Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask. Zelig is another one I enjoy.

Last week the Saints were moved to Indy to practice while Gus was rolling through New Orleans. The whole T.O. trade to Baltimore debacle. Remember that? The league assured the Ravens front office that any trade with Owens was binding. Well, it didn't quite turn out that way, huh? Were any compensatory picks given for the NFL gaffe? Nope. They were simply given back their 2nd round pick. In the time that whole matter shook out, all free agent WRs were gobbled up. "Sorry, sucks to be you." That's just one example. I can give more if you like.

The roof of a football stadium just got ripped off in a hurricane and the Ravens are fucked. Is there anyone here that likes this team and isn't irretrievably retarded? What the fuck. What's in your water out there? Things like that happen to occur in hurricanes that are the freakin' size of Texas. Everyone knew this storm was coming. The NFL botched this for both teams, regardless of what their money grubbing billionaire owner wanted. Understand that I am a Ravens fan and I am sensitive to the NFL screwing up, then saying "oh sorry, sucks to be you.". It's happened too many times before. Baltimore and Oakland are the only two cities that had to force themselves back into the league. It's not a conscious conspiracy, they just don't give a fuck. Not playing a game this week when there are suitable venues a few hundred miles away is inexcusable. And if this was your team facing the same situation, you would be pissed too.
-
They practiced all week thinking that they were going to play. That's not a real bye week. Now they have to play 15 straight weeks. That's a joke.
-
You're right, Bob McNair refused to play at a neutral site. But Goodell certainly has the right to make decisions that are in the best interest of the league. This didn't happen all of a sudden. They KNEW this storm was coming. A contingency plan should have been in place to play somewhere else if Houston was unavailable. It's more fair to have 1 team screwed financially for missing one home game than to have 2 teams screwed competitively by having no bye week. I'm sure the Texan players are elated that they won't have a bye week this year because their owner was steadfast on grabbing for the cash. That stadium would have been half-full on Monday night. He just didn't want to refund the tix money. And my point was that if a glamor team like Indy, Dallas etc. was involved they damn sure would have thought of a different solution than making them play on their bye week. But, this is just the fucking Texans and Ravens, so who cares?
-
The NFL has a long history of screwing Baltimore. Congratulations to Roger Godell for finding a new way to fuck the Ravens! Seriously, if this was the Colts, Cowboys or Giants do you think they would have been cheated out of their bye week and now forced to play 5 out of 6 games on the road later in the year?

UFC 88: Breakthrough - Liddell vs. Evans
imajackoff? replied to jackmcmanus21's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Couple of random thoughts about the card: - I haven't been as fired up as I was after the Rashad KO in a long while! I almost flipped over the table at the bar I was watching. Up until that point, I was really mad because it looked like Rashad was completely afraid to attempt a takedown or mix it up. - Hendo/Palhares gave us a great first two rounds, but an incredibly underwhelming 3rd round. Good to see Dan get off the schnide. - Marquart looked great. It's a shame Anderson is in the same weight division. In fact, this night made A. Silva look like even more of a stud with Franklin, Marquart and Henderson winning. All good/great fighters that weren't able to handle The Spider. -
Randy Couture signs new 3 fight contract with UFC
imajackoff? replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
In his 3 fights so far, every time he has punched someone they have gone down. Granted its a small sample group, but it's still a trend that Couture has to account for. Very interesting fight. You look at Lesnar's size, power and speed and you think he has a chance against the 45 yr old Couture that hasn't fought in a year. But, I just cant imagine someone beating Randy Couture in their 4th MMA fight. -
I agree. WEC always brings the goods. Kinda wish they could fit the Maeda fight on the main card.

For getting knocked up or for having a right-wing crackpot for a mother? This is a girls personal life-it shouldn't be made an issue. I'm tempted to say her mother should have thought of that before she decided to put herself in such a high profile postion and left her daughter open to such scrutiny . The Alaskan press have respectfully kept this under wraps, but it must have occured to Palin that the mainstream press wouldn't be so generous. I'm starting to have those same sentiments. How could you agree to run for VP when you know your daughter will be labeled the nation's teenaged whore once this situation came to light? Seriously, putting her in this stressful predicament during a PREGNANCY is unforgivable. Fuck Sarah Palin!

Just because the McCain camp says they knew doesn't mean they did. They would look like bumbling idiots by claiming that they didn't know. I think they probably were aware of it (I like to think no one is that inept), but regardless, they are going to act as if they were.

The men's basketball gold medal game was the only part of the entire Olympics I watched. Great game! Wade did a great job in the first half while Kobe and Lebron were in foul trouble, then Kobe came up big in the 4th. You know there wasn't much defense when the losing team in a 40 min game has 107 points.
