Metal Gear Solid 4 to feature much older Snake...

10 days and counting........*slobbers* -
I think the Kimbo hate is getting to be more over the top and a bigger case of piling on, then the Kimbo love. The guy is 3-0 and a baby in the sport. If you want to hate someone hate Gary Shaw for putting Kimbo in the Main Event slots, but if you were Kimbo and in his situation why WOULDN'T YOU take what's given to you? Kimbo in this point in his "career" is about as good as you should be with three professional fights. It would be different if he had been given 30 bums to fight as a professional fighter and has been on like a 10 year winning streak, but the guy is 3-0, how fucking good to expect him to be thus far? Chill the fuck out.

Frisbee Golf, lots of it. Making sure the freezer is always stocked with lots of ice. Cranking the A/C. Swimming. BBQing a lot. Drinking liquids so cold they are almost frozen.

Well 1080p does nothing for watching TV networks anyway.

Exactly, and I think that is really the most dissapointing attribute of McCain right now. You'd think he would know better then the nonsense he keeps trying to push as "the facts on the ground" It is sad to say and maybe a bit premature to imply, but at this point I am thinking the only reason McCain is still pushing for this abortion of a foreign-policy is because he has possibly falling in with the money-grab crowd that is making a fortune off of this never-ending conflict.

I know in the post-fight conference, Rogers was claiming Kimbo tapped in the second round, saying he was sitting ringside and saw Kimbo tapping, but he should probably pipe down a little, because it was probably just Kimbo gesturing to the ref that he was ok and didn't want the fight stopped. I am not sure what Kimbo would have been tapping out to, exhaustion? He definately wasn't hurt by the lazy elbows.

The Sacramento Bee is reporting a sellout crowd of 12,682, which is easily the highest attended WEC event in history, i believe. http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/981344.html If you happen to read the article that I linked, it seems that most fighters were happily suprised at how many people attended the show and were very pleased with the support. IMO, it came off live-in-person as well as the UFC show at Arco did a year or so ago. The only real difference was UFC might have been a little fancier during pre-fights with the video montages but other then that WEC put on a really good live production.

....and when prices finally do drop they never drop down back to what they originally were before "the price of oil rose" It is like they know people will be happy enough just to see prices drop by a few pennies. When I first started driving in 1996, I remember paying $.98/gallon.

Oh and I wonder if the show being on CBS had anything to do with the seemingly faster stoppages. Were the suits at CBS afraid of "devastating" KO's being too much for a more mainstream, casual audience?

So before the fight me and my brother in law downed a 12er of Heineken and started on some Hefeweizen and then realized we had to get going....(I can see Arco Arena from my front yard so I can basically wait until a few mins before the showtime). No one felt like spending $6 on Beer, but of course we ended up doing it anyway later into the show because we were there for a good five or so hours. So we get there and the usher takes us to our section and it is overbooked....hahaha. Basically we were in the boxseat section where they bring chairs for you. The problem there is supposed to be about 15 tickets for the row, but in actuality it only fits about 10 spaces once people are actually occupying the space. So we got moved to a better section right next to a camera man. The guy was cool letting us take pictures while "operating the camera" Anyways, great night of fights, Faber showed some guts trying to stand with Pulver. And I guessed correctly that Faber would come out to "California Love" to hype the crowd. So guys, I have the show taped but haven't watched it yet, how did the crowd come off on TV? I know there seemed to be a guy from Sacramento in every other fight, haha. Did Faber get a ovation? It seemed very loud in attendance but I am sure that is almost always the case. Oh and WEC sure did the right thing by opening the upper level, considering it was originally only going to be a lower-level show they would have missed out because the upper level was damn near as filled as it was when I went to Arco for UFC. $35 was a pretty damn good price for where I was sitting. The same place for UFC would have put me out $150.

Ok It's monday, I'm at work but I was too busy yesterday to post, plus I was tired as hell after getting home from WEC last night..... One thing I wish Elite XC would do next time is put the fight on LIVE for both coasts, just give it to the West Coast at 5pm or 6pm......I loathe watching taped-live events knowing the event already happened. Oh and according to an interview with Sherdog the July 26th date for the next CBS show has been pushed back because they said they don't want to have to rush to put together a card. My guess at this point would be Kimbo vs. Rogers headlining, but I think another big time match and a definate crowd pleaser would be a Shamrock/Cung Le rematch. That probably even SHOULD BE the main event, but who knows what they will decide. As far as the second round of Kimbo's fight, I think it was correct to not stop it in the second round because even though Slice was taking a lot of elbows, there wasn't much force on those elbows at all, and it seemed like Slice was actively trying to guard against them and communicating with the referee that he was ok and not to stop it. It wasn't like he ever got rocked with an elbow that just cleaned his clock. As far as the actual stoppage, sure it might have been 10 or so seconds premature, but Thompson was ready to go and was likely to be brutally KO'd in a matter of seconds. This also shows Kimbo has somewhat of a chin because he did take some shots as well but weathered the storm. I think Rogers beats Kimbo pretty easily right now, but again Kimbo has a sluggers chance. Lawler/Smith was definately stopped too soon though, I wish they would explained why the doctor felt it needed to be stopped. Carano looked good for such a small amount of training time, she took some shots also and showed a good chin.

It's too bad the show isn't broadcast live on both coasts. Oh and I had to watch the main event on youtube because the program guide only had the show alloted for two hours and I forgot to extend the time(I was out during the actual broadcast) I will post my thoughts on the show later, probaly tomorrow when I have more time, time for a round of frisbee golf then time to head to Arco Arena for WEC: Pulver vs Faber.....Whoo!!!

I dunno if this deserves it's own thread, but fuck it..... http://www.dreadcentral.com/index.php?name...bctid=507831569

So has anyone got the call for the interview, but didn't go initially and had to have it rescheduled for the next day cause you were in the middle of doing something else and missed it? Well that is the situation I am in but I can't remember where the building is. I got the message "So and so has rescheduled your interview for tomorrow at 8am) I am HOPING that when it gets close to that time, maybe an icon on the map will start blinking. Is this mission even necessary to the story mode cause right now besides this mission, I have the two McCravey brothers missions and Ray's missions to do so I really have PLENTY to fill the time until I get to the interview mission

The reality is there is a percentage of people out there that will listen to the loons out there like Beck, Limbaugh, "Fox News Contributers" that will repeatedly drop innuendo that Obama is a "muslim" or "hates white people" etc etc etc...and believe them, and there is just nothing AT ALL that will convince them otherwise. Trust me, there is a lady at my work that fits that profile. A nice lady in general, but she doesn't need to go anywhere for news because Rush "has it covered" and I live in "liberal California"

$4.12 is the cheapest you can find it in Sacramento right now.......funny how the gas prices kept going up the past week even though it has been reported that oil prices have been dropping for a few days.

For the love of gawd.....WOW. I dunno if being on TV during Gladiators gave the illusion that she looked a little thicker, or she just man'd up big-time and shed some weight, but she just looks fantastic right there.

They built a new Logan's Roadhouse over here, pretty good steak. My wife is a "well-done" FREAK when it comes to her meat. I mean to the point of me being embarrased, and it has unintentionally caused us to get free meals and desserts at resteraunts before. I kind of feel bad and even try to tell them that it isn't necessary to comp us any food, because my wife generally likes it well-done past the standards that most resteraunts consider well-done and it's not like they are cooking it well-done or anything. It's not like my wife gets mad over it either, she just tries to explain it as best she can before-hand but I'd say there is a 50-50 chance she wants it cooked more when the initially bring it out. She is always nice about it because she acknowledges she is a weirdo about it and it is never going to effect the tip or anything, I just hope it doesn't cause her to get her food fucked with by a server that is not "in the mood" that day or something.

So according to the walkthrough I am just about exactly 50% through the storyline mode. I have noticed that the last few missions have started getting longer though and more fun. The next two missions I have to do are the one where you follow the helicopter across town and then get in it(I failed it the first time cause I didn't notice where the chopper landed, and climbed a building unecessarily and then watched the chopper take off from the helipad...lol) and then Part 2 of the job interview mission.

Well if that fight happens and he moves up and wins, there are some other interesting fights waiting for him if he is willing to stay at 155. Also whether UFC or WEC gets it probably depends on whether management feels WEC can even draw a good enough crowd without that fight on there, I mean that fight is probably on the UFC undercard anyway and wouldn't be a big selling point (yet), so I say give it to WEC to headline the card.
-
If you read Carano's interviews and press going into this fight it is almost like she is already conceding that she has a good chance of losing this fight and she doesn't really care, kind of acknowleding that juggling the Gladiator schedule left her with barely three weeks to train.....I mean it might just be her introverted personality talking, but she doesn't seem to care much that this is perhaps the biggest stage thus far of her fighting career against a seemingly legit opponent and it could rocket her to stardom or sink her.

Dave was being kind of an idiot, Will kind of went over the line with his "I trusted you" blah blah....The girls of the show actually for once kind of came off as the rational ones..... Next week it looks like Joey is about ready to already fall off the wagon....

Former Bush Press Secretary writes "What Happened"
NoCalMike replied to SuperJerk's topic in Current Events
The problem with these types of books is that the people who already believed all this will cheer and the bush supporters will disregard it as "oppurtunistic and bitterness" It is pretty certain that Bush will be seen as a failure for years to come, but just about the only way to really drive the point home is for some type of criminal charges to be brought up and a conviction to be held up against either himself or a high ranking official in his administration and the Democrats have made it clear they have no intention to "stir the pot" so Bush will basically retire as an unpopular president but his life will go on and he will live a lucrative life anyway. -
Look for me in the crowd....of course I am in the second level so, umm not likely, but I am in the first row of the second level, but yeah still not likely....I will be wearing umm...not sure yet..haha.....I will get back to ya'll on this one.
