I also have trouble understanding the viewpoint of such "culture warriors" like Michael Savage and O'Reily, who are just up in arms about this. On one hand they rant and rave about the "homosexual promiscuous lifestyle"(whatever the fuck that means) then when these people show that they actually want to settle down and get married like everyone else, these two are even more outraged about "homosexuality becoming the norm, and next you can marry your dog"

I never understood the ".....founded on Christian Values...." argument, because that would imply that the "values" from that time period, which include a lot of ugly things used in the name of "Christianity", should still be in place. I always viewed our society as an ever evolving culture, that strives to keep the good things going and over time discover what should be changed, and well, change it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread(or anywhere else for that matter) but ESPN.com has the premiere episode of "MMA Live" available to watch on their website. Does anyone know if this is an online only show or this actually airs on ESPN, if so when? I want to know what McCain's "expansion of the private market" means when he talks about Health Care and how it would bring costs I mean really, just what in the fuck is he talking about, because they way it seems is that the private(and for profit) system we have in place for health care is precisely the reason we are where we are in the health care crisis.

Do you have any sportsbars in town? Most of them around here now show UFC PPVs. And, Elite EX is on free tv, try sticking a paperclip in the back of your tv where you would usually plug the cable/satellite cable into, that usually provides a decent enough antenna to pick up CBS. Or Do you have any friends that watch MMA?

So the May-to-June transition is going to be quite a time for MMA fans.... May 24th UFC 84 May 31st Elite XC June 1st WEC Pulver vs. Faber June 7th UFC 85 That is quite the lineup for a 2 week period!!!

Pre-show starts at 3pm, goes on-air at 6pm....wow that is a pretty long-ass preshow. I wonder if they have to do a lot of stalling inbetween fights or.....I am getting excited.

My Junior High years were relatively normal but I do have a few random observations from my memories; - Why did teachers all the sudden start pronouncing the word "Mature" as "Matoor" I mean I know it is a acceptable alternative, but it was like all of the sudden teachers felt the students could handle this new different way to say words. -A lot of girls were just starting to blossom in their chest region and it seemed they had the tendency to look down their own shirts even more then guys were looking, like they had to keep assuring themselves that their boobs were still growing or they were just so excited to finally be getting boobs......(maybe a chick could enlighten me on this one) -There seemed to be even more bullshitting going on in junior high than highschool when it came to what so-and-so did with who, who did this, who did that etc etc etc..... Ok more to come but I am work so I gotta go....

Also, on the Sirius Metal channel they have a radio show called "Beyond The Pit" on there that is just Death/Black/Grindcore/Gore/Doom etc etc etc.....it used to be on every night at 6pm(9pm eastern) and then for a couple hours on saturday nights, but I am not sure if it comes on at a different time or at all anymore.

Which is essence is a perfect example of why guys like Dreamer have a harder time succeeding outside of Heyman or Heyman-like booking. You are 100% right on regarding Dreamer's ECW character. He could never get over the Raven hump(well until Wrestlepalooza when everyone knew Raven was leaving) but he still won a good amount of his other matches. He wasn't treated as an underdog job toy to any new guy that the company wanted to get over(not to mention guys that are total garbage and the fans care nothing about). Not only that but because of the way he was booked he came off looking like a badass even in losing. Compare that with that the way he is booked in "ECW" and he is much more of a "goofy jobber walking around in an ECW shirt" type character who never wins. There is a big difference. Of course, it is all moot anyways since "ECW" is not even trying to emulate ECW anymore, so why we should even care is lost on me.

Kimbo Slice could roll over Thompson, get to 3-0 and still really be untested. With a big national show, this could be Kimbo's last outing with a tomato can. Of course in MMA it always seems that whenever you think you know what is going to happen, it doesn't. Kimbo winning is good for the company no matter if he beats a bum or not because at least he did what he was supposed to. If he loses to a legit fighter then fine, his camp can play the "lack of experience" card, but if he loses to an average fighter on the biggest stage the company has received so far, well, not so good.

When I saw the trailer I wasn't sure why it seemed so many people were UBER-excited for this flick. It seemed like there was a mix of people trying to out geek-gasms each other and people who decided to PRETEND they loved the cartoon as a child just to prove they were a "REAL speed racer fan" Most reviews I have read have backed up my skepticism. I will be skipping this one. EDIT: Oh and about Monster Squad. It might have bombed at the theaters, but I first saw it when I was about eight years old and LOVED IT as a child. Most people I know saw it when they were kids. It might have been overlooked in theaters, but plenty of people know it and have liked it as kids. I would hardly call it a "Cult Classic" Now being an owner of it, I don't even think it is all that "great" of a movie, but as a child I looked at it as a scary monster version of Goonies. The difference is that The Goonies still holds up as a great movie to me even as an adult, while Monster Squad I get a kick out of for nostalgic reasons but can easily recognize it not being half as good as I thought as a child.

In my opinion they COULD just scrap TUF altogether and instead start holding smaller-scale shows on Spike TV with some of these guys, or even mini-tournaments consisting of the guys that would have been picked for TUF. I mean seriously, the roster is big enough to start having UFC Fight Nights more frequently. I don't want any more PPVs, $45 per month is plenty for me to spend. Of course, what people also need to realize is that TUF, IMO, is just as much about being a vehicle to advertise for the coaches fighting each other as it is to "showcase young up & comers" so if it helps the buy rates of those PPVs then it is probably a success business-wise.

I said I wasnt going to post in here anymore, but I had a phonecall from of all people my mother (Im surprised shed even bother to take the time out of her so busy day to call but alas I think shes trying to make good for Mothers day..ha) Anyway, somehow we got on the topic of politics and she, being the racist person that she is (not joking), has said that if Obama wins the nomination she'll vote for McCain and she followed that with the fact that she has NEVER voted for a Republican for anything in her 30+ years of voting. I told her she shoud start a White Racist Red Hat Wearing Women for McCain group or something now that she's discovered the wonders of blogging on the internet... Well I did say 99.9% so maybe your mom represents the .01% that is the racist wing of the democrat party.
