    UFC 81: Breaking Point

It's MMA though, not pro-wrestling it doesn't matter who dominates a fight, guys who use submissions often come out looking battered, bruised, and bloody by the end of the fight, but the fact is they use different weapons to win fights. Look, I am not trying to take anything away from Brock, for his 2nd MMA/first UFC fight, he looked impressive, but "dominating most of the fight" doesn't get it done in MMA. It isn't just about brute strength and punching power. There are so many other elements to the fighting game. I get the feeling that if it wasn't Brock that lost the same fight, and just some other unknown muscular guy, he wouldn't be getting as much love. "Feed Brock Mirko" I mean, really? Mirko is in a downturn in his career, but the guy is still a world class striker. It isn't beyond the realm of possibility that Brock could take him, but lets not get ahead of ourselves m'kay?

    Superbowl XLII

I'd say at this point it is really hard to tell. When you look at the Giants over the course of the season, they got better as the season went along, but they never seemed to dominate the competition. They have some vets that could be close to retirement, Strahan, Madison, Toomer, but then also plenty of youth as well. Really, over the last five seasons, the Patriots have been the only "sure thing" if you can call them that, every other team seems to remain a mystery until the end of the season, especially the NFC where you can basically toss out W/L records. This Giants team gives me a Steelers "got hot at the right time" vibe and not a dynasty vibe, but then again it is a lot harder to build a dynasty these days.

This will probably be considered a bigger upset then it deserves to be, because for all the domination the Pats displayed during the regular season, they weren't displaying the same dominance during the post-season(or during any other of their post-seasons either). That is the main reason why I would have had a hard time calling the Pats the "best team ever" even had they gone 19-0.

I didn't pay close enough attention when it was live, and every time I see a replay on the news they seem to cut the clip short.....did Tyree really come down with the ball, or did the Giants catch a break there? Was at least suprising that Belichek didn't challenge it?

That Seau pic is hi-larious......especially for a guy like that.

    Superbowl XLII

Anyone else think that by Week 10 next season people are going to be puzzled as to how the Giants won the Superbowl this season? I don't see this team as a dynasty in the making. They kind of have the feel of the Steelers team that got hot at the right time......

    Superbowl XLII

I think the Giants totally shutting down the best offense ever is something to make it more than average. They had a special defensive performance in this game. Defense. Wins. Championships. You know what. Honestly I would agree with that sentiment, except for the fact that in the postseason the Pats never looked like the dominating team of the regular season. This is what I tried to convey to people. I fault myself for being so sure they would get it together for the superbowl, but for a 16-0 team, they sure were an average post-season team, and quite frankly they always have been, even in their all there superbowl winning years There are many teams from the past I could point to that might have had a few losses during the season, but come post-season time, they kicked the collective asses of the opposition. Then you havre the Pats, where basically 90% of your games come down to a GM FG in the closing seconds. Winning is winning, but when you are making the argument for "Best team ever" games like these don't help your cause.......of fuck I am rambling...... Thank You Mr.

    Superbowl XLII

So the Giants made a motherfuckin' fool out of me and my stupid fuckin prediction. Congrats NY Giants and Giants fans. With that said, I think this superbowl will be another one that is mistaken for being "one of the best" merely because of the close score, while the overall game itself was pretty lackluster and mediocre and probably won't stand the test of time. Stats-wise, I don't think anyone was that "great" In other words it reeks of why this era of the NFL is just not on par with the NFL 15-20 years ago. Sure, I am a hater, but I am also drunk so fuck it.......I am sure my opinion will be completely different tomorrow when I sober up.

Eli pulled a Favre and went for the homerun, while ignoring the fact that another receiver was wide open in the middle of the field...... P.S. I am placing full blame on Crown Royal for any and everything I say from this point forward in this thread.....

Right now the Pats can't cover Toomer or Burress......the playaction pass could be big down the stretch.

A little late with this comment, but I was hoping Tom Petty would have done "The Last DJ"

    Superbowl XLII

Is it me or do fans overreact to getting the ball first just a bit? If it is over-time then yes it means a big deal, but on the opening kickoff, it kind of just puts more pressure on your team to score on the opening drive or it is a wasted oppurtunity. It seems like there are a bunch of games where the team getting the ball first at the start of the third quarter is bigger.

Lip-syncing the star spangled banner? Lets hope Tom Petty gives us a show at halftime.

    PlayStation 3

So I have a USB hub hooked into one of the USB slots on my PS3 and the controllers will work and so will the headphones, but the guitar remote won't and the controllers won't charge unless directly connected. I wonder if it is because I bought a cheaper-line USB hub, or if that is just the way it is with those devices .

So I guess it is prediction time and not a second too soon. I dunno, maybe it is all the forced Giants hype that has been spit out over the past two weeks, but I just have a feeling that the Patriots run away with this game. I'm not necessarily saying it is a rout, but I think the Patriots won't be sweating too much by the third quarter. Of course, I could be dead wrong, but I just don't buy this Giants team as a Superbowl team, let alone a team that can possibly win a superbowl. I also don't necessarily think Eli will have some huge meltdown and throw 4 picks, I think he could have a decent game and the Giants lose regardless. Patriots 31 Giants 21

    UFC 81: Breaking Point

Well I guess the next question is, coming off a loss in his debut, is Brock going to be a huge draw regardless of who he fights. Mir had credibility and Brock had mystique. Will Lesnar draw when he is facing a tomato can?

Try being a Redskins fan, ever since Joe Gibbs retired(the first time he retired) the franchise has been in shambles which only got worse when Dan Synder bought the team and took us from mediocre to an outright joke. Dan Snyder has done enough damage to the franchise to make even the most cruel messageboard fodder feel empty to me. And the worst thing of all, I will still be suckered into staying a die hard fan year after year.....HTTR!!! P.S. At least as a Redskins fan I do have something to be very excited about right now.....Congrats, #28 Darrell Green & #81 Art Monk!!!

    UFC 81: Breaking Point

I just watched the Lesnar fight. Lesnar looked very green in there, but I guess that is what happens when you throw someone in there with a veteren because his name is a big draw. Brock's size and strength and wrestling ability are going to be a challenge for anyone to contend with. The future looks bright for Brock.

So does Sopcast ever show replays of the show, or do you pretty much have to catch it live?
