  1. BTW Mike, I still have that teaser poster for Saw V for you, I'll drop it by when I'm in Sac next month. Saw Bolt today, it was pretty good...Rhino steals the show. Cool. Are you gonna be in town on the 27th? UFC party is going to be huge for this one.

    Entourage

The ending was a little on the sappy side, and I would have accepted a more grim looking ending to the season with the Scorcese stuff to happen in the season opener, but fuck it, I still enjoyed it.

Call of Duty: World at War

That initial sniper mission was cool. I kept messing up though when it came to the finale of it. Then of all things I shot the general when he was lying down in the back of the getaway truck, lol.

    The Beer Thread.

Can anyone confirm or deny whether Newcastle Ale has changed their ingreidients in any way in the last few years or so. My brother-in-law swears up and down it tastes different then it used to, and not in a good way.
  5. I finally got around to seeing Saw V tonight. It was good, but with all the flash back montages you can't help but think instead of making a new movie out of this, it should just be "extra footage" on a previous dvd, haha. Oh and we got the latest teaser for the Friday the 13th remake. Now, I know a trailer can be deceptive, but goddamn, it looks like they might have FINALLY got one of these horror remakes RIGHT!!!! Friday the 13th remake teaser

    Sarah Connor Chronicles

Everyone still watching? It seems Det.(former) Ellis is playing both sides at the moment, of course he doesn't know Shirley Manson is Terminator. The next episode is going to reveal a bunch as it looks like the Terminator's CPU chip is introduced for the first time.....

I didn't know that. Is it aired on the night of the show itself, or are you talking about the randomness of what they decide to put on UFC Unleashed's normal timeslot?
  8. Dana White was just on Sports talk 1140 being interviewed by "Carmichael Dave" here in Sacramento and this subject came up. I think Koscheck was supposed to headline the Fight for the Troops show....so now who knows.... I missed most of the interview but Carmichael Dave said the interview should be uploaded on the website HERE within the hour. It seems Dana White is starting to get BUTT-hurt that fighters are starting to demand a little more for fighting in the UFC. I mean 10 years ago, guys were probably happy just to have something to do besides 3rd shift at the tire shop(and to a certain extent it's still like that for lesser known and undercard fighters)

    The Bush Years Compendium

I really didn't know where else to put this..... Bush set to relax rules protecting species http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081120/ap_ca/...angered_species Way to go out with a bang, George.

I was mentioning in another thread about the possibility of airing all the undercard fights on the PPV shows, and most said well the timeslot would be too big and such, but why not strike a deal with Spike kind of like Affliction did with Fox Sports, to air the prelims for free?

It's way to late to make it happen now, but Carano v. Cyborg would have made a nice addition to the December UFC show.

The US Economy and Current Financial Crisis

It is kind of ironic that the car companies are looking to get bailed out at a time that gas prices have dropped tremendously, so any incentive they had to change their ways is right out the window the minute they get the government check.

    NFL Week 12

So if the Titans go undefeated and then get beat by the Giants in the superbowl, that would be HILARIOUS pt. 2

Call of Duty: World at War

The problem with going soley by Reviews is that reviews don't always convey which types of gamers will enjoy the game. There are a lot of FPS games that have other elements to them that would turn certain people off that don't always get explained really well in reviews. Anyways, I bought this game the other day, haven't had much time to play it, but damn I love it so far. I totally missed the boat with COD:4 cause I went with Rainbow Six Vegas 2(which I really liked), so I knew awhile ago I wanted to get the next COD, barring it was getting good feedback from gamers' opinions I trust.

    NFL Week 12

I wish I was more confident in the Redskins beating Seattle this week, but it is a cross-country flight after an emotional loss. I still think they pull off the win due to how Seattle has been, but I think it will be another close game Redskins 17 Seattle 13

I need to vent about Sarah Palin.

Although there are a good number of dumb celebrities, not all of them are idiots, and some actually do pay attention and follow politics and have a clue about what's going on. Of course pundits in this country like to put all celebrities in the same boat and say they are morons who should "shut up and <insert job here>" Unless of course the celebrity happens to be conservative, then they are courageous and intelligent, and honest etc etc etc. And anyways, what qualifies someone to make a statement on something anyway? For President, yeah you need to be heavily qualified, but to state an opinion? Fuck anyone who says someone else can't speak their mind. Now, that doesn't mean we can't challenge or criticize what they say, but they can say whatever the hell they want to, basically.
  19. It does kind of suck for KenFlo that he didn't get his oppurtunity against Penn, but I am sure that fight is happening next regardless of the outcome of Penn/GSP. Penn isn't staying at 170 regardless of the outcome. He is doing this to avenge his loss to GSP and to further solidify his status as one of the all-time greats in this sport. As is probably why GSP is taking this fight. That, and the money involved will probably be swell. Kenny Florian aint going nowhere and he will be ready for BJ after this super-fight. Penn/Florian is going to happen, I just hope Florian is absolutely ready for what he is begging for. As far as the whole "leapfrogging" thing. When you achieve "icon" status in this sport, much like other sports, people want to see the icons fight each other. It is a fight that a hell of a lot of people want to see between two current icons of the sport, with the winner possibly breaking through to the next level and becoming an all-time legend of the sport.

    UFC 91: Couture vs Lesnar

So what are the chances UFC signs Kurt Angle to a one fight contract, for a special attraction match with Brock? I know it sounds like a ridiculous idea, but Kurt had interest in MMA, and it would be a NCAA champ vs. Olympic Gold Medalist, and Dana White could do something silly and bill it a former adversaries have decided to settle the score in the octagon. Brock would probably have to first beat Mir/Nog, and the idea altogether is ridiculous, but I guarantee it would probably get the UFC it's biggest buyrate ever.

I need to vent about Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin appeals to extreme social conservatives, and then the males that want to bang her that don't necessarily care or pay attention to the actual issues, and then there is the moderate republican base who know damn well she is an embarassment, but will jump on the bandwagon if it gives a chance to put an ® in a position of power. Even I could understand her initial "wha wha wha....Who is that?" appeal, but once that wore off.....no. I think Jerk's frustration should be on the media and not Palin. I mean sure, Palin sure as hell seems to be willing to do a lot of speaking now that election time is over, but I blame the media for showing up to air the shit. The media is deeming her important enough for coverage. That is their fault not hers.

    UFC 91: Couture vs Lesnar

So if Fedor is eventually signed within a year from now, does anyone even care to see him against Randy or is it going to be Fedor v. Brock (or whoever wins between Brock & Mir/Nog) ?

    UFC 91: Couture vs Lesnar

I do think that the UFC does have a roster capable of making better cards month in and month out, as far as the Main Card from top to bottom, but the problem is when you are dealing with legit competition, things happen like injuries during training that cause cards to change. Also, it's not like a WWE PPV is full of Main Event quality matches, so what exactly was their gripe again? I do kind of wish though that the UFC would just air the entire show on PPV including the prelims, because in my situation it helps. Having people over, they often like to take a break between fights to smoke or get a drink or go bullshit outside for a little bit, and lately it seems that the PPVs are getting a much faster pace to them then they used to.

    NFL Week 11

What an ugly game. The Skins Defense gives up only 14 points, wins the turnover battle and still lose. Redskins offense is in a definate stand-still with the current personnel because they lack depth. Double cover Moss & Cooley and there is no one else to throw to, well except Randel El who shows up for his one big catch before dissapearing for the rest of the game. The Redskins lack of pass rush really needs to be addressed this offseason, they haven't had a good pass rush in a few years and every year it is not addressed. Ugly win for the Cowboys, but hey a wins a win, and now the NFC East race for 2nd place grows extremely tight.

    UFC 91: Couture vs Lesnar

I could see Lesnar taking Randy down, but being unable to do much work from the ground on a crafty guy like Randy. I just hope the ref stands them up quickly and doesn't let half the round go by before doing so. Unless of course Lesnar is being effective on the ground.
