Ok lets get something straight, I don't think ROTK should get best picture, or sweep all these categories, but nothing, and I MEAN NOTHING to date, is as bad as Titanic sweeping.
I don't know how ROTK won best editing when the theatrical cut was over 3 hrs, and pretty much 75% of the first hour didn't really need to be in there.
I'm not bitter, I thought ROTK was a good movie, but just that good. I didn't get caught up in this LOTR-fandom, OMG THE BEST MOVIE EVER, bullshit.
I also don't think it was THE BEST movie of 2003, that's all.
Question: Why not nominate a horror flick for best makeup? I mean hell, from the clips I just saw, it takes 100x the work to do all the makeup for a horror flick. Plus over the years makeup jobs on horror sets have been pretty imaginative.
