So a thought occurred to me: If Ben did, in fact kill Penny then I can see that being the catalyst for Widmore finding his way back to the island with Desmond's help. Des would want to go back to get revenge on Ben and I doubt he'd want to go through Mrs. Hawking for help. Clearly Widmore possesses similar technology to that which we saw in The Lamppost, explains how he located the island at the end of season three.

The more I think on it the more it occurs to me how lazy the writing was in this. Whether they have an end-game (and I sure as fuck hope they do) remains to be seen but for me, the two things in this episode that demanded some serious attention to detail were written off without another thought. 1) How they find the island. "Oh, well this is a pocket of energy and it tells us where they are." 2) How they get back. "Oh shit, another flash of light." I'd be willing to bet that Three Kings (Arab dude sitting in Business Class) is a Widmore agent who's there to spy on them.

I can accept that. I'm sure this episode will age well but I found myself too distracted by the numerous amounts of questions to truly get into it. Plus the scene with Jack and his grandfather (who looked like he could be around Christians age) felt horribly tacked-on. Plus now that scene will get all the fanatics out there saying "OMG JACK'S GRANDFATHER IS WITH DHARMA" or something retarded like that.

Color me unimpressed. I understand that this was a bridge episode and I'm sure once all the questions get answered it'll look a lot better but this episode had far too many questions and absolutely zero resolve.

Yeah, he'll need another fight. Anderson's got Leites and the winner of Hendo/Bisping and IF you believe Dana, Okami all on his plate in 2009 and I see no reason why if GSP beats Alves they wouldn't do that on Super Bowl weekend 2010 so Demian could be waiting a while.

So what are the odds that if Joe loses he'll be cut? UFC rarely cuts TUF stars, much less winners but if he drops one to Diego that will be three out of Joe's last four fights. They have cut top contenders after much less (Werdum comes to mind) but Joe is a bigger name. Suffice to say if he loses this weekend he's out of the title picture forever and if UFC decides to keep him around they're risking him beating guys they want to groom for a title shot. If he's kept around he'll be sitting on prelims for a fight or two, minimum.

I agree and I don't. Riggs is a big 170 with enough strength that he has a chance of keeping the fight standing and the Paul Daley fight exposed a pretty big weakness in Shields game in that he has pretty much zero striking ability and doesn't respond well to punches coming at him. Having said that, Riggs was thoroughly outgrappled by Luke Stewart and if he can do it there's no reason to think that Shields won't run a train on him if the fight hits the mat.
