Damn, that was brutal. To be eliminated by a matter of seconds at a non pit stop has got to be one of the worst exits I've seen on this show.
-
The Pats are trying to blow this one.
-
Did the Patriots secretly sign the Giants' secondary? How many missed tackles has that been in the last few minutes?
-
Can you show me where these posts are? The way the Eagles are playing, you can't count them out. Eagles are a better defensive and offensive team then both the Lions and Packers. They would have alot of worry about, espically with Donte Stallworth coming along. With the Eagles you don't have to worry about 1 recieving threat, you have to worry about alot of threats, because they spread the ball around. Eagles D-Line, I think would give the Bears O-Line problems. And as I type this, the Giants got a touchdown from a fumble recovery, what the fuck. Maybe the Eagles should beat a team better than the Tejans before we proclaim them to be (one of) the favorite(s) in the NFC. The rest of the posts were Dama and EHME having simultaneous orgasms about how great the Eagles were playing today. If normal fans had posted these things it would have been isolated, but there were at least 10 posts about "Eagles are TEH awesome!" and Dama proclaiming them 2-0 and the division leader in what must have been the end of the first half/early 3rd quarter. By all accounts the Giants have played like shit and are also 1-1 with the tiebreaker right now. NONE of the NFC East teams are locks to make the playoffs at this point.
-
So much for those poor misguided souls who thought the Jets would knock off the Pats today.
-
Even if NO wins 6 more, it's still gonna take more than 8 wins to make the playoffs in the NFC. They'll need at least 9 and some tiebreakers.

I just got home from a BBQ so I didn't see any of the early games. I just wanted to say that I'm stunned that New Orleans only beat the Packers by 7 today as they improved to 2-0. I am most interested in knowing how the Giants won a game that they clearly were losing to the soon to be Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. I mean, the way the Eagles fans here were going on, I thought we'd be watching their victory parade on ESPN tomorrow. How did we ever manage to beat the super terrific unbeatable team of the millenium?

Team defense is done by total yards allowed. Yes, it's a retarded way to rank teams considering that a team that allows 300 yards and 31 points would rank higher than a team that gives up 375 yards and 13 points.

I think that chair just did something the ND defense couldn't, stop Manningham.

Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...
naiwf replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I knew what you meant. This season has just been really boring with the exception of Serra. While I expected we'd see some lazy guys and stupid drama, I certainly wouldn't have expected the fights to be this bad though. The one thing this season lacks is the feeling that you got in at the ground floor of some guys UFC career. The vast majority of these dudes suck, and even the two guys who win will likely get stomped by the champion at their weight class and fade right back into obscurity/mediocrity. -
Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...

Shitty fights, a dude choosing pussy over a potential title shot and the Shonie Show probably haven't inspired many people to watch. Aside from Matt Serra there really hasn't been a likable guy who has gotten any TV time thus far. -
They could be thinking of a TD, a safety and a made XP. I realize that Nugent making an XP is only about 50/50 at best.

Did you ever know that you're my hero? You're everything I wish I could be.

You are talking about Joe Benigno. If Liriano needs Tommy John surgery he is going to be out for 18 months. The talk is how Tommy John surgery makes the arm stronger and adds a couple of mph to the pitches. No, I think his name is Chris Schneer or Sheer. He's the baldheaded guy that's on the TV as the "pre/post game" guy. TJ surgery may make the arm stronger, but everyone responds to surgery differently. Liriano was looking like one of the top 5 or 10 pitchers in all of baseball this year, and now he's possibly done until opening day 2008. EDIT: I just heard one of the most retarded statements of all time right now as some idiot just called in and stated without equivocation that Melky Cabrera is just as good a hitter as Matsui. He then went on to support his argument by saying that Melky's half season of play is comparable to Matsui's entire career.
-
The guy who does the lead in to Mike & The Mad Dog's YES network show just said Liriano may need Tommy John surgery. I'm not a fan of the Twins by any means, but it's never good to see a promising young pitcher's career possibly be over before it starts.

How? Oh wait a minute, I forgot they have Drew Brees and Joe Horn. But NO's defense is not anywhere near as good as Chicago's. And neither is their offensive line. Again, while GB is nowhere near one of the better teams in the league, they're not the worst. One severely overrated college star does not make NO a good team all of a sudden that can come into Lambeau and win by 10. A single lineman, Brees, Bush, Horn and Deuce by themselves could probably score on your 'D'. Your offense is anemic, and as much as I love Favre he's more likely to throw 3 picks than 1 TD. I'm being generous when I say the Pack might keep this one within 10. I'm guessing it'll be more along the lines of 21-3 or 24-7.

The Yankees would only win 90 games without Jeter. Clearly he is the MVP.
-
Liriano re-injured himself on his 28th pitch of the afternoon, a slider. He was looking pretty much like the old Liriano too. They NEED to shut him down for the rest of the year.
-
Jeopardy is an understatement. The Saints should beat GB by at least 10.
-
The Mets can thank the home plate ump for run # 6 and possibly burning out Borowski's arm for tomorrow. He got squeezed, ended up giving up a single and a bases loaded walk which shouldn't have happened. At the end of the day he ended up throwing 26 pitches, when it should have only been about 18, and the Mets can still tack on some runs they don't deserve.
-
They need to call this Mets/Marlins game. It's dangerous out there.

The Twins are + 21 when Santana pitches (26-5 overall, 21-1 in his last 22 starts) and + 3 (57-54) when he doesn't. Considering he's pitched about 1/4 of their games and is basically THE reason they're in contention, I don't see how anyone is more valuable to his team's success.
-
They're from Seattle which is only famous for grunge music, the Space Needle, being the setting for Frasier and the highest suicide rate due to the climate in the US. The Seahawks are also about as exciting to watch as paint drying. Next question.

And only one team after that has won more than 8 games (the '02 Patriots went 9-7). Here's hoping that trend continues. Hi, The Patriots went 14-2 and won Super Bowl 39 after winning SB 38. K,thx. Reading comprehension is your friend. The last SB LOSING team. If you repeated as champions, you obviously didn't lose the 1st SB. K, thx.

Johan Santana should win the MVP easily. Remove him from the Twinkies and they're about 25 games off the pace. Mauer and Jeter don't have that same level of importance, and the BoSox collapse eliminates Big Papi from contention too. The only reason not to give it to Santana is that he doesn't play every day.
