ND is # 2, USC # 3 and Auburn # 4. The Smallhorns should drop to 8th. They'll end up with at least 3 losses, a minor bowl victory and a rank in the upper teens by the end of the year.
-
I don't see how a team that was 40 over .500 on August 8th or so, failing to make the playoffs when there's a WC to fall back on is not the biggest collapse ever.
-
Because you're more likely to get stuffed on an option play from there than not. Go to OT and roll the dice. At least in OT you're guaranteed one more possession.

Thank you for reducing our magic number to 5 Florida. The Tigers are now just 2 up in the loss column over the Twinkies, and 3 over the Sox. The chokejob of chokejobs is that much closer to becoming reality.
-
I am no longer a fan of Justine's. She had a chance to go down as a legend this year, and proved to be just another choking, can't get shit done in the crunch Belgian. 3 Finals lost to questionable people like Mauresmo & 'Pova is just pathetic, especially when you consider she was blown out at the Aussie, choked away Wimbledon and her sphincter tigthened when she was up 2-0 tonight. Ugh.

Someone please fire Fisher Douche-berry for that decision.

Thank goodness David Wright's finally heating up again. The Mets lead 3-2, but should be trailing 2-1 since Tomko got squeezed on a pitch right before Wright gave us the lead on a 2 run single. You'll no doubt be stunned to know Cohen & Darling are questioning a few moves by Grady Little.

I think the retarded thing about the Howard postseason argument is that it's entirely possible the Phillies will win as many (if not more) games as St. Louis and STILL not make it. Howard's post AS break numbers are insane, and I think he deserves it now. Beltran should still finish ahead of Pujols, but he won't because the media can't help but fellate Albert since he's the new Barry Bonds.

I was born and raised in NYC. I chose the Mets because I used to go to a lot of Yankees games as a kid and had a few really bad experiences with drunken patrons. I also liked Doc & Strawberry, while no one on the Yankees really caught my attention. LT was the first football player I really took to, making my choice to pick the Giants over the Jets an easy one. The Rangers are the only truly local hockey team since I can't root for a team from LI or NJ. I think if you move, or your team does, then it's cool to switch teams. Bandwagon fans however should be executed.

I want to see her get another shot at Amelie tomorrow and finally beat her, or just crush 'Pova in prime-time to end that hype train.

Jankovic is embarassing Justine right now. I'm stunned, but I wouldn't mind seeing Jelena win the title and usurp Sharapova as the new "it" girl.
-
Not really, I think ~ 80 HR and ~ 200 RBI is enough to get the discussion started for a guy who is soon to be 27.

Everyone in that video got what they deserved. Sadly, Suluman vs Reporter was more impressive than the last two fights on TUF 4.

Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...
naiwf replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
So, is there any chance we might see a good fight in the next couple of weeks? These last two have been awful. -
This performance makes it even more laughable that "experts" thought the Dolphins would be playing in the Super Bowl. It's like they forgot who Daunte was in pressure moments.
-
The most electrifying man in all of MLB (Reyes) just hit a 3 run inside the park HR to pretty much seal the deal tonight, 7-0 over LA. Whoever's playing center for the Dodgers really needs to find another position because he sucks.

How about lazy? If Davydenko had played with any energy early on he would have straight setted Tommy.
-
Tommy Haas' match today symbolized his career as he choked like a complete dog. Davydenko was lethargic, down 2 sets to none and on the ropes in the 3rd, but Tommy got lazy and the grinder stuck it to him.
-
Penny's getting rocked (4 straight hits), but a stupid baserunning effort by LoDuca and a bad jump by Beltran means it's only 1-0 with 1 out and men on 2nd and 3rd instead of 3-0 with 0 out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Youzhny play his singles AND doubles matches on the SAME DAY?? That's highly unusual, let alone taxing. If true, certainly a day to remember for him. Yes he did. After "suitable rest" from beating Nadal he went right back out there and KO'd the chest bumpers. If that wasn't bad enough he then had to play his doubles QF today, and lost 6-1 in the 3rd. He does however have tomorrow off if I'm not mistaken.
-
Youzhny and some dude I'd never heard of also knocked out the # 1 team in the World in doubles a couple of hours after he beat Nadal. I don't think he'll fold against RoboRod, especially if he can hang around and take the 1st set. All he has to do is allow Roddick to beat himself, and I think he can do that.
-
If Youhzny plays at even 50% of the level he did against Nadal he will make Roddick's head explode and win in 4 sets.

I love no-nos. But, Sanchez giving up 4 walks is a bit too much for me to laud it as a great accomplishment. It's also four walks away from a perfect game. To me, I'm amazed at any game that's a two-hitter or below. Anyone remember watching their first no-hitter? I thought about it today and after a bit of research on dates, it was Chris Bosio in April 1993. They played the final inning live on SportsCenter that night, and Bosio's celebration is about all I can remember. It was the July 4th '83 Dave Righetti game. I know the date because I've only seen the YES network re-air it about 100 times.

Haven't you've said that the Marlins would be winning the WS by 2008, so why would you catch heat for this?
