". . . Americans, who couldn't overcome their 32 percent shooting from 3-point range or 59 percent from the foul line."
-
What he said. Until the USA squad can hit at least 40% of their shots on an "off night", they have no hope of winning international events. The excuse that [insert Team that beat us] "has been playing together for X years" needs to go away too. Our shitty shooting has nothing to do with a team playing together for years. The USA squad has never been manhandled or locked down on defense, they lose when they can't hit the broad side of a barn with the ball. We'll have at least one of those games in every tournament, and that's why we keep playing for the bronze.

For sheer drama purposes, Agassi/Baghdatis is one of the best matches I've ever seen.

Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...
naiwf replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I'm guessing Pete Spratt is left wishing he'd just manned up and gotten his ass handed to him by Matt Hughes back in the day. -
Not that I think this will happen, but if the Yanks sweep Detroit here they'll be 1 GB in regards to the best record in the AL.

40-year-old man breaks up a fight between two 16-year-old girls

Captain Clutch & Abre-who just blew chances to get the Yanks the lead as they left men on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. I'm thinking Zito gets like 6 yrs/$90 million from the Yankees or Mets.

With Ortiz possibly done for the year, is there any chance Jermaine Dye sneaks into the top 2 or 3 in AL MVP voting? I thought it was a mistake when I heard the BBTN guys say he'd hit his 39th HR tonight, but apparently he's having the quietest monster year ever. .324/.390/.651, 143-441, 23 2B, 2 3B, 39 HR, 106 RBI, 85 Runs, 47 BB, 95 K, 5 SB

I'd consider voting Cabrera # 1 if the Marlins manage to win the WC because I can't name another one of their regular hitters besides Hanley Ramirez and that's only because I see him every time you post.

He has better power numbers. Better stats is definitely arguable. Coming into tonight. . . Beltran - .286/.389/.631, 124-434, 34 2B, 1 3B, 38 HR, 108 RBI, 105 Runs, 73 BB, 81 K, 16 SB Howard - .294/.382/.627, 140-476, 16 2B, 1 3B, 47 HR, 122 RBI, 79 Runs, 67 BB, 148 K, 0 SB Beltran's got a better OBP, SLG, OPS, twice as many 2B, 26 more runs scored, 67 less K's and 16 more SB.

We're talking about my hometown crowd, at night, at Agassi's potential last stand. As long as no one resorts to throwing anything on the court, I don't really think the "other guy" can complain. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, it just is what it is. Baghdatis' supporters will probably be just as rowdy when they play, so that match will be awesome from a crowd perspective. I think Marcos will crush Andre, but at least the fans will keep it interesting.

I'm far from an Andre hater, I've loved Andre since 1999. I just hate the silly hype. And the lemmings in the crowd. And the biased officiating he'll get. I really wouldn't want him to end his career vs. Pavel (far from a no-name, but much like Andre, a geezer who's best time has passed). I just want to see good tennis at the best tourney of the year. Not bullshit. I know you're not an Agassi hater, but people who desperately wanted him out were pretty bitter last night. Everyone was whining about the crowd being too noisy and too pro-Agassi, as though they expected a bunch of white gloved, golf fans to be out there and politely encourage Andre in what could possibly have been his last match. Buncha retards.
-
The Agassi haters are in full force across the internet tonight. LOL. You'd think they'd rather see him get served up by Baghdatis than lose to a "no name", but I guess they wanted Andre to get the Roddick 2K5 treatment instead.

This is not the norm at the US Open. The French however would consider this a tidy affair.
-
There is no reason for Agassi to have won this match, and yet here he is up a set and a break at 2-0 in the 4th. Pavel's gonna hate himself when he watches this one back on tape.

The Bengals are molesting the Packers right now, and Palmer looks like he could be an MVP candidate again.

GOOD LAWD! I never would have envisioned the day that a UFC PPV outgrossed WrestleMania by MILLIONS of dollars. Granted UFC can't do that regularly, but that's still pretty wild.

That bastard just dented our scoreboard.

Ahem, Justine just won the first featured women's match of the tourney. I hope she also wins the last one. Lindsay should be alright to beat this ham n' egger. I just don't see her making a run like she could have if she'd not gotten injured on Saturday.

Here's my guess. Most likely managers of the 2007 Cubs, in order 1. Dusty Baker 2. Dusty Baker 3. Dusty Baker 4. Shit, I dunno. Dusty Baker with an extension.
-
With Venus out, as long as Serena or Sharapova doesn't win I'll be content. If I had my choice I'd like to see Justine or someone like Ivanovic win it for the ladies, and Federer to crush Roddick in the Men's Final.
-
Delgado brings the leadership and intangibles!~ Yeah, I've got nothing. Beltran should win the MVP though since he's been carrying the team through Wright's horrendous slump, and Delgado finally woke up from a long slumber too.

I'm beginning to hate Ryan Howard

So when Villone's arm falls off from the shoulder down and they have to reattach it scientifically will that come to be known as Ron Villone surgery?
