I don't care about regular season wins. Eli Manning is not a great quarterback by any means, but I'll take him over McNabb any day for one single reason. McNabb's been in the league for a decade, been to five NFC Championship games and still has any many rings as everyone on TSM put together. Eli probably won't ever win another one, but I'd take his career over McNabb's just based on one magical six week stretch last winter. As a fan of teams who LOVE to choke under pressure, I'm not impressed with winning meaningless games and falling just short of a title. The Eagles are going to end up being just like all of those other teams that consistently won 8-12 games every year and have nothing to show for it because they thought they were closer than they were to "getting over the hump". Personally I'd like to see McNabb spend the next 6 or 7 years in Philly because it means I don't have to worry about seeing him or Reid ever hoisting the Lombardi trophy.

McNabb is what 1 for 5 in NFC Championship Games? And he puked on himself during the Super Bowl. The window is closing shut, and leaving McNabb there for the next 3+ years with a new offer just means that you'll be another one of those teams that consistently contends for a playoff spot but never wins because you're afraid to do something at the QB position. He'll be 33 years old next November, and it's not like he's going to suddenly stop being jittery under pressure.

I'm going with the Cardinals to complete Kurt Warner's ride into Canton on the first ballot, mainly because I can't stand the thought of Big Ben getting all of the credit for winning 2 championships that the defense carried him to.

This.

I would have thought you'd get tired of perpetually being the bridsemaid after the latest Stoops/McNabb debacles. McNabb's not going to win you the big one, so let him go, suck it up for a season or two and try your hand at getting lucky and finding a franchise QB in the draft. It's better than being the team that always does OK but never wins or does poorly enough to reload quickly by getting a Flacco or Ryan.

How is it a "clean block" when a WR launches himself and delivers a helmet to helmet on a "defenseless DB", but a 15 yard personal foul when it's the other way around?

After tonight's loss will Baltimore officially be Pittsburgh's bitch?
-
Not really, but this is why the NFL is vastly superior to the college game which would have just had Titans/Giants and everyone else would have wondered what might have been.
-
And who gets the blame when he gets caught from behind, fumbles and [insert Eagles player] walks in with the tying TD?
-
Won't they need a QB to replace McNabb first?
-
When did the Cardinals trade jerseys with the Giants?
-
The NFL's priority is to let the replay booth make the right calls, not the referees. Duh.

That's not saying much. Didn't Cowher lose three AFC Championships at home as a double digit favorite (roughly)? The SB they won was thanks to the men in black and white helping them at every opportunity as well. Like Dungy he was an above average regular season coach who isn't remembered as being Marty Schottenheimer because they played well in one of the ~10 chances they had at the postseason.

"We said the ball was out of bounds. You can't challenge. End of discussion."

One more reason the NFL is a full of shit league.
-
That should be recovered by Arizona.

Hmm, that sounds like a game the Eagles played recently against another team. Can't quite remember who though.

What bizarro universe is this where the Cardinals appear to be dominating the Eagles and look like the best team in the NFC?
-
Cars, politics, anything about someone's children or (ex) partner, chick flicks, job drama or vacation stories.

Let's not give Spags too much credit when he couldn't scheme up a single sack in 180 minutes against the Eagles this year. It's just a gut feeling from me, but I think he will be a bust as a coach and will be a DC again in less than 3 years.
-
I'd be perfectly content if Clemens, McGwire, Palmeiro & Sosa never got in. It won't happen, but a guy can dream.
-
Fuck him. He's already been fined about 50 times, suspended three times and cost the team a chance to repeat. He doesn't deserve a 54th chance. I hope he does 3 1/2 years just like a normal person would and the Giants get back most of his bonus.
-
He only ruined a chance to repeat as champions for the entire organization. Going to a club with a gun cost the other 52 players as well as all of the coaches, owners, etc. He may have physically wounded only himself, but he hurt everyone else associated with the Giants.

If Plax comes back and the Giants were to win the SB, I would be incredibly disappointed that they let that scumbag back on the team. I know that you're supposed to root for the jersey and not the names on the back, but I cannot support a guy who ruined a season for entirely selfish reasons. I don't think I'd be able to enjoy any success they had in the future if he was part of it.
